My daughter and I spent many hours trying to decide what walk in tub we should buy. We decided it would be Safe Step. I am 80, and this tub was easy to move in and out of with no problem. The amenities of the tub are by far above all the other tubs we’ve seen.
From the time we met John (Monis), our sales person, and until the day that Joshua (Brunken) and Michael (Steen) finished the installation and the young man Mike, that came to fix a knob that had come out our experience has been great!
I have never done business with a company that employed so many pleasant and caring employees. From those that answer the phones to those that come into my home to complete the jobs.
All in All, I’d say a job well done! We love this wonderful tub!
My mom is a leg amputee. I was thinking she would finally be able to bath again. She can’t maneuver the tub. I have trouble getting into the tub because the inward opening door doesn’t allow much room to maneuver. If I were any healthier I wouldn’t be able to get in the tub at all. It takes a bit of time for the tub to fill up. So you’re just sitting there. Though I was told my hot water tank was big enough. It isn’t. The heated seat isn’t really warm. And the tub doesn’t heat the water. The water jets are loud not relaxing. For me it is a huge expensive disappointment. The salesperson was nice. The workers were nice and efficient. The tub just isn’t practical for me nor my mom.I wish I could return it. Further , I was told my water heater would be big enough. IWAS NOT ADVISED I MIGHT NEED TO UPGRADE. Had I known I would have responded “N” to the financier’s text. They asked “was the tub substantially installed?” Rather than “are you satisfied with or do you want to keep the tub.” It was substantially installed. So much for being honest.

Sales person very well informed and efficient. Installation crew was outstanding and did very good job.
It was extremely helpful to be able to visit the showroom and sit in different models of walk-in tub. We have users ranging from 6'1" and 280lbs down to 5'0" and 85lbs. We ended up with a tub that works for all of us, with no high-pressure sales tactics.
Our existing tub had a footprint larger than the new tub, so the installers had to get creative to fill it in without making it look odd or leaving us needing to redo our floor. They rose to the challenge, and the cultured marble wall, shelves and cover panels surrounding our new tub look like they were professionally designed.
My husband, who fell trying to get out of our old tub, came out from his first experience with the walk-in tub elated that not only did he not come close to falling, but his whole bathing experience was easier and left him relaxed instead of exhausted.
The crew was on time. Installed quickly, and professionally. Then showed me step by step how to operate. I found a small imperfection and the fixed immediately.
I don’t have trouble getting in it like I did my tub. The service was great from making apt to installing.
Thanks
Your product is not what your sales team is selling, not worth it even if it was half price.

We Are so Pleased with our Walk in Tub. Luxurious and the Water, Lights. Micro, Air is so amazing. Thank You
I just had a conversation with a representative of this company, he was calling to confirm a bid appointment. He demanded that three people be on site, me being the owner of the home was trying to get a tube for my mother. I being the owner am the only person who would be allowing and paying for the install….he was demanding that I have my wife and my mother there in order to come out and give me an estimate and it was not negotiable… I told him I was the owner of this home again and it was up to me and me only….he was very demanding and told me that this was safe steps demands, and told me that this company might not be a good fit…. if this is the type of employee’s you have operating your company I hope you guys go out of business ….all I can say is it was rude.
We love the tub!! It's going to make getting older much easier!! I only have one question...I am alergic to bath bombs, so what kind of soap can be safetly used in the tub??
The professional service of installation performance
from sales representative to install everything went well
Exceptional experience, Leader of installation team explain operations in detail. Cleanup was great.
The work was completed on the date scheduled. All four workers were professional, cordial, respectful and cleaning up their work areas when completed. Great Job. Adjusting to the luxury of the walk in tub.
If you are an older adult, like I am, and rely on the convenience of a walk-in tub--please read this before you invest in a safe step tub.
The service response to get your tub fixed if something goes wrong, may run into months of false promises. In general, you will be without a tub for a while and if this is your only means of bathing--well..
I waited a few years before I took out the hefty $22,000 out of my retirement (tub, fix the floor after existing tub removal, IRS taxes) because I could not get in and out of our state-of-the art Kohler jetted tub.
I was really enjoying my safe step tub until--disaster--the door of my tub started leaking profusely--water everywhere. Please note, if you suffer from a disability you are trapped in your tub until the water drains out and/or help arrives. I now deeply regret having bought the safe step tub. Instead, I really should have researched into other ways of getting into my existing Kohler tub.
I called the service department on September 3, 2022 to request service--that is when I entered the gates of the deep abyss of hell. We were told to make sure we cleaned the lining of the tub carefully, because if the technician came out and found that we were at fault for not cleaning the tub linings with alcohol and a cotton swab, we were going to be charged $179/hr for the service call. We were also told that if there was a plumbing issue, per the manual, that this was not covered, even though Safe Step did the plumbing to hook up the tub to my existing water/drain line.
People, I am disabled and my husband has arthritis--the poor soul got down on hands and knees and cleaned the door lining five times. We removed a label lodged in the lining that was not removed during the door installation, but still the door was leaking.
For three weeks, I called and requested service, but all my plaintive requests were met with empty promises of call backs in 24 hours and 48 hours. Finally, I went on the safe step website and talked to the virtual lady. On September 30, 2022, I finally received a call from a service technician who agreed to check the tub on October 3, 2022. The technician determined that we needed a new door. Apparently, the door handle and the door have knobs that, if not installed correctly, can cause leakage and door failure. The technician said the door would be delivered to our home in 5 to 10 business days.
Again, after many desperate calls and finally speaking to the Service Manager, the door was delivered on October 19 with the promise that door installation ticket was sent to the technician.
To date, November 7, 2022--I am still waiting for my tub to be fixed. The service technician did comment that he and his son were the only service techs in my area, and that we were lucky to even have him come out because why does safe step think that the service techs would forgo an installation to do a 2-hour service call.
Apparently, the safe step service department has quite a dysfunctional business model. There is a call center for the different regions with the base in Nashville. The call center sends out the service request to the region listed per your zip code. I was told by the Nashville people they could not find my account and was questioned as to whether I really did own a safe step tub. Please don't let this deter you, be persistent, but kind. These are just call center people with no power but email. The service center in your region sends the ticket to the technicians. The technicians are the ones who determine who, when and what service tickets they will honor.
Sounds like somebody at the safe step headquarters really needs to take a step back and review their business model. They are raking in oodles of money from installation from unsuspecting older adults and skimping on their service and warranty requirements. I have never met any other company, that has no control over their service schedules and rely on contractors who get paid by their service and installation calls to determine who gets serviced when.
Boo on you Safe Step.

Don Wilkerson was thoroughly helpful and respectful, knew his product inside and out, and answered every question I had. What a professional.
We were very happy with the service and professionalism. And they were prompt finished within the same day and we are extremely happy.
It is really rejuvenating and relaxing. My husband and I love it! Our only regret is that we waited so long to get one.
The installers came at the time they said they would. They had the old tub out and the new walk-in shower installed within 4 hrs. Afterwards they cleaned up and hauled away the entire mess. Asked our opinion for location of hand hold bars. They made sure we knew how everything worked before they left. They were very professional!
