We are very satisfied with the quality of bathtub installed by Safe Step.
However, we were very disappointed of how disorganized the tub installation process was within our home.
We were not informed, prepared, or aware that our old tub would be demolished within our bathroom and taken out of our home in buckets.
The installers or the Supervisor Management did not say anything about this terrible process. My home was left in an uncomfortable status.
I had to clean out my floor heating registers in the bathroom because nothing was put down to cover the dust of the demolition.
I am still itching form this terrible process.
I was only told by the Installment Manager Colleen Dirks to make sure the bathroom moveable items were taken out of the restroom.
My husband has COPD, and I am an Asthmatic. I had to make sure we were safe. Why I had to tell one of the installers he should have a mask on, and I opened the bathroom window to make sure it was ventilated properly.
This demolition of the bathroom was right up over our basement and caused the laundry room to be full of dust and scrap particles and debris from the demolition of the bathroom walls. I am still washing clothing that was not protected and our cleaning tubs.
Why they didn't even cover the washer where they had to put in the pipe. Pink goo dripped from the pipe onto the washer.
However, I was totally disappointed to come back home and find my hardwood floors has been scratched when I asked them to put something down on the floor before moving it further into the house.
They could not put the door back into place properly for the bathroom and its off track and the frame is now cracked.
If only we had known the proper procedure of how this installation was to be performed, we would have been prepared to protect to
our home.
How could we know if this information was not shared with us to make informed decisions?
I did talk with the Installation Manager Colleen and was promised these concerns would be addressed and someone would come to address our concerns as soon as possible.
I hope they keep their words of promise.
Right now, I am so displeased with this process of how this tub was installed. This process should have been shared during the sale pitch too.
How can we recommend your services without truth?
Thank you for listening to our concerns.
Sincerely,
The installers were personable and went right to work. We had a very small space to get the tub into but they did it successfully! They were very good at explaining the workings of tub controls. The team worked together well. We needed a new panel cover and pillow and they were mailed to us. We needed someone to come out to check a small leak at a connection on the shower. They took our call politely and dispatched a technician within a week. Fantastic!!
While the walk-in tub is nice, the installation was a nightmare. I was told they would need to take my door off for the installation, after removing my old tub I was informed that 1-2 inches of my wall needed to be cut away. At this point I had no other option but to agree as they had cut my old tub in half. During the installation my wallpaper was torn, my new toilet scratched, my new tub scratched, my hallway closet scratched, and my porch railing scratched. I probably have over $1000 in restoration fees to get my house back to a decent condition. As for SafeStep wanting my opinion regarding my installation, I have unsuccessfully tried to contact them twice. It is my understanding that SafeStep subcontracts the installation. Of course I had to sign off on the work with no mention of the issues that I mentioned. Not what I expected after paying $21,000 for a tub.

From the first visit from sales to the decision to purchase, everyone from the home office, installers, office manager, were fantastic to work with. Communications was very thorough and right on. Installation was very precise, highly efficient, and informative. The Safe Step Tub Shower is a very Awesome purchase and the unit is so comforting and relaxing. Very easy to use as the instruction walk through with the installers was very helpful and precise. User’s manual and instructions are very helpful and precise as well. Thank you Safe Step! 👍👍
We are having trouble with mold. We follow the cleaning instructions as directed and we still get mold. The chamber where you put fragrance is covered in black mold. There seems to be stains to the interior tub. My wife and I might use the tub 2 times a month.

Customer srrvice was great from the initial call to the person who came out to sell the safestep tub to the installers who came out to install it. Love the tub! Had another model in another home and while it was great this one is even better
Excellent, professional installers. Finished early & very neat. Very experienced & knowledgeable. No complaints at all!
Such an amazing job! Our safe shower is so beautiful and we are so pleased. Sam and Drew were our installers and their workmanship was exceptional. Big shout out to Bob Walker that initially came out to set things in motion. Safe Step is fantastic!
The two men that did the installation were very friendly and professional. They answered any questions we had. After installation was completed they gave us a tutorial/ walkthrough as to how everything worked.
The crew showed up on time. Was very impressed with the way got to things and very knowledgeable with what they were doing and the product they were installing. They were done in about four hours. The sales person was very knowledgeable and explained how things were going to be done. The tub works very well and is easy to use. The best purchase I have made in years. Looking forward to being able to use it for many many years.
Safe Step was installed in one day and the crew was very professional and cleaned up afterwards and explained all details on the Safe Step
Thank you so very much
What an amazing system, especially my WI-FI, it sounds so wonderful and relaxing
They stood me up on 12-08-2022. When they finally did install it was raining and the grass (yard)!was torn up along with large holes left. No one asked them to park in the yard. I also have a mess around the door frame, I wasn’t shown anything as to how it even works. I took 2 days just cleaning up after them. Jason Mutz refuses to fix. Half the items don’t work

The salesman was thorough and knwoledgeable. The installation team was excellent...you'd never know that the tub was added and replaced the standard tub that came with the house. I've only taken showers for the last 25 years, and now soaking in this tub with water jets, air jets, and heated seat & back is delightful. Wish I'd gotten one years ago.
The two gentlemen that done the installation were all about their business. They did a great job and we love both. That walkin bathtub is my new baby, especially the badae.
Safe Step men that installed our new shower did a wonderful job, explained everything before they left.
Had to come back the next day however due to damaged material.
Let me tell you about the experience my parents, and by extension, I've had with this company.
We got a tub in late March 2022 to help my father with leg pain and have something safe. While our tub was being installed, the installers almost got into a fistfight in the driveway. My mother was close to calling the cops. They finally finished, and some drywall needed to be fixed, which Safe Step said they would cover. Great! It was so uncomfortable.
The first bath, well... it didn't drain quickly. In fact, it took over 30 minutes to drain at the normal drain speed. I'm not sure how that is quick. We called and had the same guy who installed the tub come out and insisted it was fine. Guess what, it wasn't! We had to call again, which was an endless back and forth. Finally, someone came and provided what seemed like a fix.
Okay, it worked for maybe two months. At that point, it wouldn't hold water. The only way to hold water was to put something very heavy on the drain. During this time, we also still hadn't the wall fixed. They were, to put it simply, completely ignoring us.
After calling every single number, I could find, I finally got someone to listen. They confused me with another customer and proceeded to snap at me for duplicity. They never bothered to look up our address vs. another family with the same last name (Maxwell). I know, shocking! There is more than one Maxwell in the state of Washington!
In September, I reminded them of all of our issues, including that we were told our check would not be cashed until we were happy. They cashed it well before we were happy.
After endless back and forth, the wall was finally fixed. However, we kept experiencing issues with the tub. We sent letters to the company's president by certified mail in early October. After that, we got some calming lip service but no actual service until December 14th. (Please note that the serviceman was lovely but was delayed by a family emergency, which no one at Safe Step informed us of, making me feel like a horrible person being pushy.)
If you want the tl:dr version - They have horrific customer service and treat customers like pests, and you have to beat down the door to get help. The tub, when it works right, is great, but Safe Step Tub is horrific to deal with and has left us highly disheartened.

Love my new tub! The day that SafeStep put my tub in was AWESOME! Two men showed up at 9am to put my tub in and were done at 1pm. The men were professional and friendly and cleaned up their mess! They showed me the how to work the tub and how to clean the tub. I love, love, love my tub! I would recommend that anyone who has Arthritis or diabetes to get one of these tubs! All of the SafeStep tubs are American made all of it in Tennessee and has a lifetime warranty! Love my new SafeStep tub!
Great tub great sale and installation process.
We referred my mother to safestep in August after our walkin tub was installed and it is now December, 3 months after her installation. We have requested our $500 referral reward every month since with no progress being made. The sales rep tries to correct the situation but hasn't been able to correct the problem.
