Safeway iPhone app and URL are awful
Safeway iPhone app and URL are awful. Suddenly, yesterday, September 27, the Safeway shopping app blew up. I could not log in, snd when I finally could it asked for my delivery address. I have been using this app for Safeway delivery since about 2010, but all of a sudden it told me either (a) delivery not available in my Zip code or (b) upon entering my address - the same address I have had since 2005 - I was told in very annoying red letters that my address could not be verified!!!!! After at least 23 years of using the same address for delivery!!! Really????? Called customer service - only to receive further mumbo jumbo nonsense. Safeway has been delivering once a week to my address, but suddenly it has gone completely dumb and nobody knows why or will not own up to the problem. Hey, Safeway, are you trying to discontinue your delivery service while playing hear no evil, see no evil and generally whistling on by your major glitch???

Representative are not helpful at all. Anoing and dismissive attitude. Phone calls are constantly disconnected by representative because they don't want you to leave at the end of the phone call bed servey. Not a good English. The company who is hiring them to hendel there clients complaint are paying for one big nothing as a service. We as a clients ends up being more aggravate at the end.

This is at the Safeway store in Danville/ blackhawk. Lousy customer service. Was made to wait 20 minutes at the wine section for assistance. Had to make two requests. This is to buy two very expensive bottles of champagne. That glass enclosure sure keeps customers from spending their money!! There should be a customer button to buzz for help. Not for the customer to wander all over the store and an unmanned customer service desk. I would like to point out that Sarah, the wine service employee, was away at lunch. This would not have happened if she had been there.
Safeway Software Sucks
I shop alternately at any of three Safeways in the Arlington/Falls Church, VA, area. Routinely, about every other time, the register/software does not reflect a digital coupon that I have "clicked and saved."

The Safeway app is completely user unfriendly and unreliable. When you check out you cannot see if you are getting the savings until you are done. Every time and I mean everytime the manager has to come fix my bill because the app was not giving me the savings it showed. I just want to shop where the price I see is the price I’m charged. Hello Wal-mart!!

This Safeway sucks! They have poor attitudes and the baggers walk away like your to bag your own groceries.
They forget to put items in the bag all the time and it’s time to change stores.
I spend 1500.00 a month and looks like forklift in Cameron park will get my service. As the lazy fks ruin the store with the entitled attitude!
Terrble phone customer service
Phone customer service used to be based in the USA with knowledgeable helpful staff. They must have been fired since now it's 100% based in "the usual" foreign countries with completely clueless non-English speakers. SHAME on Safeway and Albertsons.
3 Safeways stores within…
We live with 3 Safeways stores within 40 miles of us. The closest 1 caters mainly to Latinos so we don't go there. The other 2 are within miles of each other.
Today we used Pickup Service & took the Time to Leave Instructions for items on our list. We chose Substitutions & Added Comments to get precisely what we needed. We even checked back again about 2 1/2 hrs before we were to pick up our order.
When my husband arrived at the store he found that At Least 10 items were listed as Not Available or were substituted with unacceptable alternatives. This Despite all our checking confirmation notes etc!
Now the 3rd store- 5 miles away from this 1 Might have had those items but that was not an alternative. Consequently we went home- 40 miles away- Without key items we needed. Extremely poor service with employees not even Reading our Requests & No Useful Updates in time to do Anything About it!

I bought flowers at the Safeway store in Superior Co,I was doing business up there.I came home to Westminster and when I opened the flower package the flowers ,and leaves fall apart,I was so disappointed.! I didn’t want to travel the 10 miles back to Superior,I took them to the Safeway in Arvada ,which is 1mile away from my house,I went to the flower department and asked if I could exchange them or get my money back,I had my receipt.the manager said no, because of inventory ,so I just can’t shop at Safeway anymore,I didn’t know Safeway was a franchise company,I thought it is nation wide.and could help out their customer very disappointed!
The homeless are everywhere
The homeless are everywhere. There has been fight’s the last 3 time I've shopped there. I buy gas and get groceries there every week. I’ve probably spent over 400k since 89. They’ve just lost 12,000.00 this year Im never going back.
Handy store
I'd love to share my thoughts since I'm a frequent visitor to this chain store. They offer a wide variety of products, although the selection of dairy items could use some improvement. It's great that I can find everything on my shopping list there. However, there's one downside – I often notice an unpleasant odor around the food sections, like mold or decay. Due to this, I'm cautious about buying fish and meat from those areas. On a positive note, I really appreciate their 15% discount on all products every first Tuesday of the month.
New app is a piece of junk
I've been getting our prescriptions for over 3 years now at Safeway and they have changed and established a new App for their stores which is a piece of junk. I've now spent way too much time getting it to work. I will still get notifications I think that meds are ready but that's it. The new web app I just deleted and will just go to the store and see if my prescriptions are ready. I'm pushing 80 years old and am still computer literate but whoever created this site obviously doesn't use it as it's piece of crap to be frank.
