Safeway at 470/Smokey Hill in aurora Colorado is USUALLY a good store but on JUNE 14TH I have to say a bit disappointing. I emailed about some discrepancy with the store and was IGNORED! We stopped i... See more

Advertised prices seldom what's charged
Once again (actually it's consistently every visit) prices charged at checkout were different than advertised. I clipped digital coupons which normally work fairly well but this time again only some of them were honored. I was in a hurry and didn't notice till I was home. Safeway inevitably displays in store and online pricing far lower than what they actually charge and if you don't stand there and review your receipt after paying you will get screwed. If I were a conspiracy theorist I'd say it was intentional. It's been going on for years and I refused to shop there for years. I only use the store for sale items now and still get shafted if I don't spend the time to check the receipt after checkout. The receipts are also confusingly designed which makes it more difficult to double check their accuracy. No more, it's impossible to save any money with Safeway.
Safeway has put up lurpak butter 400g…
Safeway has put up lurpak butter 400g to $9.00 from $ 7.00. What greedy goes are they?
Demonstrably inflexible application of rain check
In far too many instances Safeway's rain check policy is farcical. Here's a recent example in context. Everyone knows about the continuing egg shortages. A brand I like is a dozen of Happy Egg free range, organic, brown, large eggs. At the time I sought to buy more, the shelf was empty. So I got a rain check, good for 4 dozen eggs at $ 5.49 each, the specified 30 days to use. Subsequently when in the store, and on more than one occasion, that product was still not available. By that last time, it was day 30. When later those eggs were back on the shelf at the time of another visit to the store, the rain check had expired. Most recently I emailed a complaint to the listed address of no less than three Safeway employees. Nary any replies. And that's the way Safeway demonstrates enhanced customer service, in this case for longtime, regular patrons like me?
Also, as do lots of other Safeway customers, have a considerable 'beef' with their digital coupons. Several times in the past when an especially attractive such coupon was offered, the first day of it found the item out of stock. Thereafter, that condition remained for the duration of the offer period, Wednesday though the ensuing Tuesday. Then, the following Wednesday, suddenly that item was in ample supply on the shelf. Too, Safeway compounds this problem by no longer allowing customers unable to buy the item in question due to its extended unavailability, to receive a rain check.
Shopping
I like that I live close to the store
Unfortunately safeway is the only grocery store in the cle elum town
Kroger’s Going Downhill
This place is a disaster. Shelves always half empty, prices keep going up, and the workers act like they don’t wanna be there. Self-checkout always broken, and the regular lines move slower than a snail. Used to be my go-to, but I’m done wasting my time here.
Safeway employee Harrassing/Slandering
Safeway Store#1473 14020 East Sprague Ave. Spokane, WA 99216
@Safeway I'm needed to talk to someone higher up Other than Dave the manger cause is the one who's letting the employee slander the customers!, I'm having an issue with an self-checkout employee named on her badge is Cathrine who works at Safeway, I actually stopped shopping there 6 months ago because the employee wouldn't stop bringing her electric bill to work and telling other employees and customers that I was sending her that to her house, so I stopped shopping there because I felt they were harassing me, today I come in second time in 7 months for soda sale, and the same employee seen me and started telling everybody very loudly that I'm sending her porn to her, and I had other employees coming up to me about this employees issue I have no idea where this crazy employee person problems are but I would like to be able shop there once in while without being harassed. Won't be back!
Safeway? More Like No Way
Way too expensive for what you get. Shelves always half empty, produce barely fresh, and the lines take forever. Self-checkout’s always acting up, and good luck finding an employee who actually helps. Used to be decent, now it’s just a rip-off.
Terrible Service
Long lines, rude staff, empty shelves, and overpriced. Self-checkout always broken. Safeway ain’t what it used to be. Done shopping here.
Bait and Switch
My local Safeway frequently does not have the sale items advertised. This past Wednesday was Senior Discount day, I went to the closest two stores and could not find most of the sales items. It's nothing but Bait and Switch at my local Safeways.
The not so new Safeway math. Better than original math for their bottom line.
Check your receipts almost every time I go in there I have to go to customer service to get the over charged money back. 20 years of fraud and they continue to do it. their ignorant yes men claim it is an accident. Of course it is a constant accident with tens of thousands of dollars of your cash going into their account from yours because they know you are too busy to pay attention.
Always check before you leave or they will refuse to refund your money. Once they have it, they keep it even if you prove them wrong. Worse than used car salesman their advertised items to get to come to their stores are also bs you get there and they say they don't have the item and will not have any before the sale is over. They refused to give rain checks or a substitution .
They learned they could get away with the fraud during COVID but now there is no excuse for the items on the front page of their advertisement not to be available other than to get you in the store to buy their overpriced food. About 20-30% mark up and the most expensive prices of the grocery chains. If they are smiling it is because they have their hands in your pocket.

All Staff members are Drug Tested on in Coconinio County 💊😶🌫️, Back Ground checked and 🤌 Finger printed and staff like California does not what billing System they are using "Veri phone" leading multiple overcharges and staff won't give you a refund on overcharges on your EBT?? Staff has never heard of Kroger or Fry's Food and does not know how to look that corporation up on the Internet 🛜?? Including Management???? When there is a minor billing error you argue through multiple people when you come back to the location? Like days of or lives, Dr Phil, Opray, Arsenal Hall or General Hospital 🏥 I talked to Tyler in Pharmacy at the Page Arizona about this situation 🥺🗣️ It is like trying to buy something from Charles Manson, Son of Sam, Jim Jones, Ted Bundy or the Green River Killer??

Told me I would get a refund three times and didn’t
The company made a mistake when issuing me a refund and now won’t issue it all. They will only give me credit to use at their store. I called multiple times and they can’t help, I wrote the CEO and no reply. I sent online submission and no response. They are the worst and I would never use them again.
Absolutely the worst customer service…
Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The last time I'll step foot in a Safeway. My wife and I were checking out when I asked for help with a sale priced item that wouldn't scan with the app. Our cashier at 17049 W Bell Rd was the absolute worst. Talked to me with the nastiest tone ever and tried to make me feel stupid about asking for help, well i gave her an earful back and she ASKED me not to yell at her lmao. She acted as if she had no idea about what a Safeway App was.
Corporate needs to learn how to set up a proper training program to teach their employees how to provide good customer service and to apparently teach them what technology is. Awful place to shop.
Another doomed grocery chain
Safeway will either fix things with self checkout and “digital coupons” or they will die a slow death as a company. I enjoy do not enjoy doing the work of the Safeway staff. Their job should be to assist shoppers and not play on their phone while I struggle to use the self checkout because it’s so poorly programmed. The store at Cave Creek and Tatum is so poorly managed I have stopped shopping there.
The worst customer service ever right…
The worst customer service ever right along with a dirty store. Im asking a question regarding their sales item and the representative was so rude she did not want to answer most likely because she’s clueless. And then some woman who knows nothing of what’s going on jumps in not minding her own business. I wonder who this sounds like??? I won’t be shopping at this store anymore. The other representative was really nice but it shouldn’t have happened.
I recommend, you get vaccinated elsewhere
Three weeks ago I scheduled an appointment for today to get vaccinated. I received confirmation, as well as a reminder. When I got there, they did not have the vaccine in stock. I then inquired if they could order it and I can reschedule my appointment, and the response was, they still couldn't guarantee that it would be in stock for a re-scheduled appointment. So disappointing!
It’s concerning to see businesses…
It’s concerning to see businesses increasingly shift responsibilities onto consumers under the guise of ‘convenience.’ Self-checkouts, while marketed as a time-saving tool, essentially turn customers into unpaid cashiers. To add insult to injury, consumers are now being charged for bags and provided no incentive or compensation for performing what used to be a paid role. This raises serious ethical and potentially legal questions. What happened to businesses prioritizing service to their customers? It seems the tide has turned, with consumers now serving companies for free. Labor laws exist for a reason—perhaps it’s time for a class action to remind corporations of their responsibilities.
They sent 3/4 lb less meat than I…
They sent 3/4 lb less meat than I ordered and the price didn't lessen. When I called to check what happened the guy at the schedule and go got disrespectful and said there's no set amount, it's approximate . I said 3/4 lb approximate? I got what I paid for. It was the store on E Golf link Rd , Tucson AZ 85710
Poor Customer Service
Poor Customer Service, digital coupons never work. They’ll have sale stickers on items that aren’t on sale and then they don’t even say they’re sorry. They just say “oh must be a mistake”. Then if you call to complain, you’ll get an Indian who you can’t understand. Horrible company.
