Ripped off

I contacted this company as i had a problem with the lock on my external UPVC door, they sent a guy out from General Services LTD they advertised in there advert that he would be in uniform which he wasn’t and in a car not a trade vehicle therefore he did not fill us with confidence, he fitted a gearbox which cost £285.00, then a new lock which cost £189.00, he was with us for 30 minutes and charged us £185.00 labour, and £59.00 for an emergency response which we didn’t ask for, as the advert stated that there was no call out charge, giving a total charge including VAT of £861.60
I would advise nobody should use this company as they would be ripped off the same way that i have been.

Bodge job and overcharged

Vicheslav Frenkel posing as a Gil Frenkel

Charged my 18 year old daughter £120 to supply and fit a £2 door chain when I was called away on a family emergency.

I wouldn't have minded if they had even installed it securely.

But the rude pig of a man didnt even fit the chain properly, fitted it upside down and with screws that simply fell out.

No longer replying to comms, card chargeback in progress and trading standards informed.

These are rogue traders

Complete scammers

Complete scammers. Was quoted £59 and when he arrived (in a beat up car with just a drill) was then told it would be £310 to open the door and then another potential £400 once he had gained access!! I obviously refused and he then demanded a £60 cancellation fee which I again refused. The guy then said he was calling the police and would not leave my property. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The most disgusting company that I've…

The most disgusting company that I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. My experience is almost like every other person. Found this company as I had minimal phone battery and had lost my wallet with my keys in. Woman initially quoted £59 on the phone and said a locksmith would be with me in 30 mins. I was told at this point I could pay via bank transfer. He turned up late and I immediately asked how much this would cost, he said its a £90 call out fee. I disputed this as it was not what I was told over the phone. We checked all entry points in the house and embarrassingly I had left a door unlocked which I managed to get in the house. At this point I assumed I would have to pay £90 call out fee, which I was reluctantly prepared to pay. He then went on to say he had to charge £90 call out plus £130 for opening the window. He didnt even do anything to open the door, literally turned a handle and was there for all of 2 mins! I disputed the fee and said that they have baited and switched. The fat gentleman became very aggressive and started shouting at me. I just wanted him to leave at this point so gave him £140 cash and told the rest would be via bank transfer, as discussed with the office on the phone. He became more aggressive and kept demanding card, or cash. I ended up calling the office and the woman said that there was a "banking system issue" and asked if any friends or family could pay. They were obviously trying to protect their identity by not providing bank details. I feel embarrassed that I got myself into this mess but this is a predatory company preying on people when they are at their most vulnerable. They are absolutely disgraceful. I have made a complaint to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards. Please, if you are misfortunate enough to have dealt with this company, please report them so that Trading Standards can gather evidence to investigate.

Scam Middle-Man company

This is a scam Middle-Man company which uses call centre operators with one goal, to get you off the phone, even if they have to flat out lie.

I was originally told the Lock Smith would be with me within 90 minutes. I called after 2 hours and was told "the lock smith is minutes away". I called 15 minutes later and was told "i'll check in with the lock smith and get back to you" and never received a call back.
I called back a third time and cancelled my request as I found the number of a good local reliable lock smith.

Five and a half hours after my original phone call, I had a lock smith text me and say they were an hour away. They were clearly a sub-contractor and apologised for the poor experience.

Horrendous

Horrendous. Quoted £88 on the phone and then given an invoice for nearly £900. Almost had to call the police as he was aggressive and wouldn’t leave my property. Ended up paying £240 to make him leave. Complete scam

Cowboys

Turned up late and initially quoted £88. However, after around 45 minutes of work, the technician attempted to charge my wife £900. At the time she was alone with our 7-week-old baby and our two other young children (aged 2 and 4), which made the situation even more stressful.

When I contacted the company, they told me to speak directly with the technician. He admitted the job had only taken 45 minutes but was dismissive and rude when I questioned the charge.

In the end, after my wife’s mother arrived while I was still at work in London, the technician eventually agreed to leave after being paid £240. This was still far higher than the original £88 quote and not what had been agreed.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The huge jump from the quoted price to the attempted £900 charge felt completely unreasonable, and the way the situation was handled was unprofessional.

Absolute scam merchants

If I could give 0 stars I would. I actually don't even live in Milton Keynes, I live in Camberwell. Their dodgy AF website appears as 'Samlocksmith' plus whatever location you searched for (ie Camberwell) and outright lies, saying their dispatch point is an address in your area, when in fact they're likely not based anywhere near you. I even scrolled past multiple results, looking for one that had a camberwell address rather than a generic emergency locksmith, but still got caught out by this.

Their 'locksmith' then claimed he couldn't get my snapped key out of the lock (with quite convincing reasons why not) and charged me a small fortune for what he said was a Banham compatible and rated lock but is actually, according to google, a crappy cheap knock off.

I got suspicious when investigating getting more copies of the new key cut and went to a local MLA registered locksmith, who told me this is an incredibly common scam. I'd kept my old cylinder and he proceeded to very easily remove the snapped key, then put the old cylinder back in my lock. He didn't charge me a penny as he felt bad about me getting duped.

Do not use this company. Ever. Complete charlatans.

Manipulative liars

This company is full of scum who manipulate and pressurize people in difficult positions to ensure they maximise profit. I had the unfortunate experience of one of their toe rags pressurising my girlfriend to try and replace a 25 pound Yale barrel for a 300 quid alternative because it was "the only option" or "our home insurance would be void.

Do not use this company under any circumstances

Had a quote to get into a lock

Had a quote to get into a lock. After two promises to turn up and garbled phone calls and emails we told them not to bother. Thank goodness ... looks like we have had a lucky escape after I have just read the reviews. Won't be rebooking

Do not use this terrible company

Do not use this company. I wanted two windows hinges replaced and I was quoted that there is no call-out fee. He then advised when he arrived it would cost me £1,100 to fix. He then advised I had to pay £100 callout charge. I asked for his help to secure the windows. He said he would do that once I paid the fee. Once I paid the £100 fee he had a 'smirk' on his face and said that the window will be fine, and he then left. Waste of time and money!

Fake quotes

They quoted me £169 then when they turned up they told me the quote was wrong (before seeing the door) and the cost was £466
When I told them I couldn't pay they pressured me into paying a cancellation fee
They knew their quote was wrong before they turned up at my house
Do not use - they will pressure you into paying them for a mistake they were well aware THEY caused

Do not recommend

Do not recommend. Do not use. Rude and aggressive. Kept changing the price to fix the lock. The price started at £550 and then went down to £350 - no explanation as to what the problem was. Absolutely awful experience.

If I could give no stars I would!!

If I could give no stars I would!!
I phoned these guys after finding them first on Google stating No Call Out Fee and gets to you within 30 mins!!
I was told 30 mins and was still waiting 3 hours later and still no sign of a locksmith!!!
I phoned them about 4 times within the 3 hours and they kept fobbing me off and saying they would be there. Even the locksmith himself phoned me and said he was just finishing a job not far from me and would be with me straight after!!! That didn't happen.
I ended up phoning them to cancel and they wanted to know why!!!!!!
Good job I had a fantastic neighborhood whoose house I could sit in for all this time!!
I ended up calling another company who were with me in 30 minutes and took seconds to get me in my house!!
It's reminded me not to go to first on Google plus read the reviews!!!

Most disgusting customer service

Actually one of the rudest nastiest people I have ever dealt with. These guys were hired by a contractor to come and replace a lock that couldn’t be locked from the outside. When I had heard nothing I then called the office and the person who spoke to me on the phone was so unbelievably rude and aggressive towards me I then had to call the letting agents extremely upset to get this resolved and a different company hired.

Bunch of jokers

Bunch of jokers. No call out fee, £55 for unlocking. Turned up £49 call out plus the £55. Told him to jog on, then said he’d do it for free. Spent 10min trying what I, as an amateur had tried, then said cannot do it and left. DO NOT CALL this shower.

Quoted £508 to change one lock

Quoted £508 to change one lock. After declining, charged £70.80 to cut the lock. Felt the initial quote was excessive compared to market rates. Was also told there were no call out charges. The excessive price was quoted after cutting the existing lock in half.
