Declan James Mark Cox is a known scammer. DO NOT buy anything from him. His latest mobile is 07895 124648. Make sure you report him for fraud through ActionFraud if you are unlucky enough to be conned by him.

Order never arrived. Emails not replied to. Phone lines give message saying they cant accept calls. Having to go through own bank to get money back. Avoid.

The worst online business I have ever dealt with. They sent the wrong item, have not replaced, do not reply to emails, and their phone number is unobtainable. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!
Since I posted this review they emailed saying they had sent a refund - but nothing received...
Avoid
Avoid. They failed to deliver item purchased and I was unable to get response by email or phone over 3 months. I got a refund from credit card company on the basis that the transaction was fraudulent. You have been warned.
Frustrating and no communication
Not recommended unfortunately as my order was not fulfilled, attempts to try and find out what was going on were ignored and it seems as if their telephone has now been disconnected? I did get a refund thankfully with no explanation apart from an email saying my order had been cancelled as requested? Someone called Jack did respond on one occasion to say that only one person was in the office due to Covid and that my order was awaiting fulfilment at the warehouse. It was all very frustrating because if only they had communicated about difficulties I would have known what to expect.
Not reliable
Ordered item, never arrived, asked for refund, Declan replied saying he would arrange a refund. Didn't happen. Reported it to fraud team at my bank and they refunded the money. Best avoid.

I feel disappointed having to write this, I have only ever left 4 stars and above for feedback as I recognise companies have their off days, however, the customer focus and communication from SHC has been the worst experience I have had in 40 years buying on line. The first jacket arrived but had to be returned as it was too large. I was advised to set another order for the smaller size and I ordered shorts at the same time. Having used a courier to return (recommended to provide proof) I contacted SHC about the refund after waiting weeks, also about the follow on order, weeks go by with many phone call voice messages, messages left with reception, e mails and use of the on line messaging service - ALL ignored ! After leaving a message with the telephone receptionist to state I was going to visit in person I finally had a response from Declan to state the refund would be made and the follow on order sent. Two days later the jacket arrived but the shorts were missing. Had to continue to push SHC for a expected delivery or refund. Today it seems they will refund, no apologies for a system that allows one to order what they do not have or for the extremely poor service. The stress of dealing with SHC is never worth any savings.

I dealt with a chap called Declan who was bang on with communications and seemed really efficient.

We are commercial operators and have used Seahorse Chandlery a number of times now to source many items including nautical publications, charts and bridge electronics, always get what we want at the right price and most importantly on time. Highly recommended 👍

Terribly long delivery time which may be down to the Corona Virus.
What is less forgivable is the number of times I had to phone querying progress and the complete absence of any communication to me as customer. Bear in mind that this was a very simple query on the lines of 'when would the items on order be delivered' and the first I heard was when the charts actually appeared.
Apart from that the website is easy to use and their prices competitive.

Huge let down in service

Eventually got hold of them via live web chat, told it was coming direct from manufacturer and that it would ship on 21st. Received email 29th to inform us order had been cancelled as no stock, refund issued. Big let down

Online purchase.
I purchased a log book for a friend who has bought a yacht. It fits the description given, was nicely presented in a box and looks really well. Also arrived within 2weeks I choose Seahorse Chandlery at random and it proved to be a very satisfactory experience.

Delivery was dreadfully slow
Delivery was dreadfully slow. This wasn’t a one off.
I ordered one item and it didn’t turn up until two weeks later. It might have been longer if I hadn’t connected them. After I contacted them they apologised and offered me a 10% discount on my second order. But never gave me the discount code.
I contacted them a number of times asking to fulfil their promise and give me the discount code, but they never got back to any of my emails.
I ordered another separate order some time later and it took two weeks for my items to arrive.
I was happy with the items that finally arrived. But wasn’t happy waiting two weeks for them. And I am very disappointed with the poor communication.
I won’t be shopping with them again.
