Ordered products online
Ordered products online. Order went well.
Attempted to order one additional product by phone to be added to my online order (that had been submitted hours prior to the phone call) and have the product placed with my online order, which was to be picked up at the store, not shipped. I managed to order online and it was placed with my order to be picked up. SUCCESS!! Yay!

The item was shipped within 2 hrs after order. It is exactly what I needed. Fantastic experience all around. Even though I live on the other side of the country this is the only place I will make these types of purchases.
Amazing selection, staff, service
Fantastic selection, and the staff knows so much! It's a long trip to go to this place but it's so worth it.
Very happy with my experience
Very happy with my experience. I will definitely order from them again.
The service was great from the store
The service was great from the store, But the shipping of product was awful. My purchase was also shipped to different locations, before it arrived to my location.
Staff is always friendly and helpful
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Clay is great - though I do wish your new speckled clay could be purchased in a full bag (25lbs). Please carry the complete Coyote line! Their glazes are great. :-)

SPS = AVOID AVOID AVOID
SPS = Bottom of the Barrel, Worst of the Worst.
They WASTE YOUR TIME pretending to have stuff in stock.
They tell you on the phone that they can do XYZ minor modification to a Kiln. In my case, this meant installing a flush mount thermocouple - because 1/2 of us that use kilns, need to use most of the interior volume.
Then SPS ignores Email after Email, while I tried to verify that what they are about to Ship - by Freight - is something that I can actually use.
You may have noticed that Supply Chains in the US collapsed considerably during and after Covid19.
Unfortunately, SPS is one of the best examples of that.
If you need a Kiln, buy a used one off Craigslist or eBay.
or - BUILD YOUR OWN.
With Vendors like SPS being part of the "Front Line" for New Kilns in the US in 2026, BECOMING VERTICALLY INTEGRATED IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO.
Vertically Integrated is just a Fancy Way of Saying,
Build it Yourself.
WORST OF ALL - SPS takes all the FUN out of buying a new Kiln.
For those of us that ENJOY melting metal and making our own clay lids for Crucibles, buying a new Kiln used to be FUN.
I have 2 large dead kilns in my driveway, and one functional kiln.
I was eyeballing SPS' 23 inch diameter, 27 inch height kiln for a large 17x23 crucible that I own 2 of.
BUT SPS' larger kiln is a Pipe Dream.
One other note about building a kiln - you need SOMETHING - maybe a small kiln bought somewhere else - to TEST your fire-bricks.
Some Fire-bricks can't take the heat - especially Fire-bricks purchased from Amazon.
To protect yourself from building a kiln, only to find that all your fire-bricks split in half, testing the bricks "under heat" is a MUST, before using them.
Received a call
I received a call to let me that they were short one of the bamboo handles I had ordered and they were crediting my account. The caller was extremely courteous and explained the reason and I was grateful they took the time to call me and explain. Not an email but an actual call.
I came on time and was what I orderd
Literal dreamscape for ceramicists
Taking a trip to Seattle Pottery Supply feels like Christmas for ceramicists. There's so much to look and a plethora of options in all directions! Their lovely staff are pleasant, knowledgeable and easy to troubleshoot with (whether it be glaze suggestions, kiln questions, or gaining for insight on their clays). I also began using their firing services while I was between studios and will never fire anywhere else! Their techs are highly skilled and I leave knowing I can trust my pieces in their hands.
Great clay, lightening fast shipment!
I always get good quality clay very quickly from Seattle Pottery. I also like that they ship Priority Mail so that the shipping costs aren't astronomical - in fact, they are often free.
I brought a pot that was to be fired
I brought a pot that was to be fired. It was clear and I wrote that it was your Pipenberg rako clay and the Mayco product Stoneware SW 406 Dark Magma two coats. It did not crater like it should. If you knew that it was not going to crater at cone 5, it should not have been fired. I was charged $50.

Nice new layout
I haven't been for a while but I like the expanded store with clay in it's own space. It's looking good. Staff was very helpful.
I would like to see the shipping charges posted somewhere and hope for a break point for minimum purchase for items that are not clay or other heavy equipment
