Very disappointing

Very disappointing. It was my first secret cinema experience and i was really excited to go, but everything went wrong with horrible costumer service.
They ask for people to arrive 30 minutes earlier just to have them standing in the rain until they open at 6:30.
Once they opened all you could do is be inside “Rydell Highschool” since it was the only indoors place.
But then when the movie is about to start, come to find out they expect everyone to stand in the cold rain for 2 hours while watching the movie, and when i asked someone of the staff they said we could just sit on the soaking wet grass or buy a poncho for 2,50 pounds as if we hadn’t spent so much money on the ticket already, and as if the poncho would do anything? I was already soaking wet and freezing.
They had members of the staff standing in the rain for the whole duration of the event.
We ended up leaving early since it was not an enjoyable experience at all, and most importantly, we didn’t want to get sick, there is no way this is compliant to health and safety regulations.
Before the event, there was no mention at all about it being outdoors or that we should get prepared for the rain, nothing. We asked multiple members of the staff for a possible solution and no one knew what to say.

Greece Secret Cinema - NEC

The reviews below are accurate. I've been looking forward to this event for years as our first experience in London was cancelled. It was very poor. The queue was badly managed, we arrived at 6pm and only just made it into the venue on time. The stage set was low key/budget and had still felt you were on the NEC carpark. This is explained in the review below. The creativity of the Rydell high was 10% effort. The weather was terrible, but this hadn't been considered (it's Britain) they needed to have a back up plan (an outdoor canopy for one). The indoor experience started to take off (very hard to see) when we were asked to go outside and couldn't go back inside for the remainder, bearing in mind it was throwing it down. I can't blame the weather, however, I expected much much more engagement, dancing, acting scenes and involvement of actors during the film. The order of play felt rushed and missed key movie points/numbers. It really felt amature and yet again more about stripping back/making money than providing a fun evening. The actors were strong when performing and the event had potential, needed more actors for audience ratio. Too many food vendors and additional to pay rides (gesture to the movie for what we have available to hire rather than anything purpose made or unique). Secret Cinema you really need to do more.

We were looking forward to this for…

We were looking forward to this for quite some time but the event itself left much to be desired. The seating area outside had puddles of standing water on it so we were unable to sit and watch the movie. Too many people in a small space for the Rydell High gymnasium scenes made it uncomfortable to be there. It felt as though too many tickets had been sold. We arrived 30 minutes before our arrival time as recommended but by the time we had queued up we had missed one of the songs. The actors were excellent and gave lots of extra enjoyment to the performance but overall it felt rushed and done a bit on the cheap. A marquee covering the seating area would have made our (and I imagine many other's) experience much more enjoyable.

Gutted.

Have been to 2 secret cinemas before, 1 was actually a secret and BTTF, both brilliant so super excited for tonight.
Unfortunately hugely disappionted.
The weather cant be helped and the website says it's outside and you'll be sitting in the floor so you pack accordingly.
They should add umbrellas to banned items.
The queue was long and slow so we missed 2 songs, still not sure if dancing happened with these.
Didn't see any characters walking around, which is what had made BTTF so fun previously.
A ferris wheel, a tiny shop, a few food stands and a hall where it's so busy you can't see anything inside and so many umbrellas you can't see anything outside.
1 dance, on the floor during the movie with no greased lightnin'.
A very expensive cinema ticket.
Not as advertised.

Well what can I say, disappointing

Well what can I say, so excited to go. Travelled a long way to get to the venue and arrived with my wonderful friends to an unfortunate wet, cold and damp Grease Experience. I know the British weather is unpredictable but it would have been nice to be able to enjoy the evening in a drier venue. We decided it was too much to stay and so regretfully left not long after.
The disappointing and ill informed info from the website about what to bring was bad and when we asked a member of staff about seating to watch the film, we were told that we would have to sit on the grass and just get wet.
We were also concerned about the safety of the rides and the only tent available the floor was really slippery.
It was a real shame to see the amazing cast with ponchos singing in the downpour which wasn’t really an immersive experience
Overall disappointing
On our way home to watch the movie in the warmth.

Just hope event is better than their customer service!!

Booked my ticket tonight, as soon as payment went through it came up as the evening show. I thought I’d selected afternoon show. I emailed straight away, stating the mistake. Customer service emailed back stating “As part of our Terms and conditions, we do not offer ticket exchanges as a matter of policy except in very specific circumstances. For the avoidance of doubt, this does NOT include personal change of plans.” Obviously did not read my email correctly and surely they must allow some leeway for human error!!! Emailed back, no response!!! Tickets not cheap, just hope the event is better than their customer service

Guardians of the galaxy

I have had a customer service nightmare with guardians of the galaxy.I have paid 103 pounds for two tickets plus 5 pounds optional refund fees that i paid by choice.however when we arrived at the venue at wembly park we were no admitted to the venue since our ticket showed 1 ticket instead of 2.the feedback that we got at the door is that we must have been mistaken and paid only for 1 ticket instead of 2.as if we did not know what we paid for.there justifications is that tickets prices vary from one day to another(obviously it changed from one second to another in our case)
The only option we were given is to purchase another ticket on door(pay another 100+ GBP. Which of course we refused.
Last they refused to refund our money.dont know why they charged me 5 pounds at the first place when there policy is not to refund regardless the case.

My advise is if you book through there website be aware since its obviusly manipulating the pric just to attract clients and second dont pick the refund protection option since its a spam.

Complete waste of money and very poor customer loyalty consideration

A Hugel Dissapointment

Its amazing how different the experience can be on the same night…but I can only say how it was for us!

I can honestly say that this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my entire life and was a complete waste of time! But for the fact that my wife had spent good money on this as a surprise for my birthday I would have left within 20 minutes of arriving.

We had dressed for the part and I feel grieved that we wasted the effort, time and money doing so!

We were totally confused about what was going on and despite asking and trying to engage the overall mayhem and noise made communication almost impossible. We were supposedly VIP ticket holders but trying to even find our leader or get to meet points was just a waste of time. As far as I could observe this was just a bunch of actors completely wrapped up in there personas not really being overly helpful with directions, coupled with a set which was basically a bunch of bars and food stalls such as you would find at a fun fair! We did try but just could not get involved, we had no idea what was going on and no idea what activities we were supposed do! Was there any organisation or plot? The whole thing was just a loud chaotic mess as far as we could see.

So for those who do read this, a quick note, we ran corporate events for 15 years and wrote interactive events and challenges, this fell way short of our high expectations given the cost we paid and the amount Secret Cinema must have as a budget to deliver the event. It's a shame that they cannot get the simple basic concept of delivering easy to understand instructions and then insuring everyone understands what they are supposed to be doing!!!

If you love noise and chaos and believe that is what an 'immersive experience' is then go ahead and waste your hard earned money!

We won't be coming back, theatre and a nice meal next time far more entertaining.

Our Ravager experience was brilliant

Our Ravager experience was brilliant, We were representing the Galactic Spanners which we dressed up in costume, when we arrived we had to report to our Captain. We were given a task of decoding a message. I enjoyed trading our 80"s music for points and somehow ended up with a figurine thrown in too. The whole experience was brilliant and the fact that you had different zones to visit made it realistic. Our evening ended with watching a movie. I would recommend if you are a fan.

I was so disappointed in Secret Cinema

I was so disappointed in Secret Cinema. We travelled from Manchester to attend amidst train cancellations and the trip was so not worth it. For one, it was completely overcrowded. I agree with a lot of other reviews, unless you are right next to your clan captain you can’t hear what they are saying and so you miss a lot of what is said. It doesn’t matter if you arrive early, due to the sheer number of people (and tall people!) you end up at the back.
We tried to immerse ourselves as much as possible but the majority of challenges literally involve the whole group going to a character, to watch one person who was picked deliver a line to the character in exchange for units (money in GOTG).
The other challenges were dancing or singing or chanting your team name loudly.
All that for £60 per person!!! I have never felt so scammed or disappointed. It’s SO much to charge for what it is. I agree with other reviews, we were new to secret cinema and the instructions given were so unclear. We spent ages wondering around before finding a character who was actually willing to help. Most of the time we just followed our group around from room to room. The cocktails are overpriced (£10.50), and whilst the set is okay it’s just not worth it. Feel incredibly disappointed. I found out from others there that they had codes and only paid £25 - maybe a thing for those local to London, and I feel so scammed that I paid £35 more that for my ticket. I think it’d have been worth £25 so I wish I could get a partial refund. Definitely not worth £60pp PLUS booking fee! (127 for 2 people!)

3rd time’s a charm!

This is my 3rd time and by far my favourite. I followed my captain’s instructions to do the missions she told me to do and track down different characters. I tried the limbo dance off and sang for credits and did some trading. It was all brilliant bonkers fun. I’ve read some reviews and can understand that if you go just once then it can be a bit overwhelming and confusing - not that I’m saying that you should go more than once, but it is worth it to see another storyline. I always help anyone looking lost on the night giving them some gentle (non-spoiler) pointers. So maybe adding some in-world MPCs who guide lost souls to help move the action on. Thanks again for bringing this awesome world to life and for all the actors who captured the characters so well. We are Groot!

Biggest waste of money

Biggest waste of money. Long story short it is just a venue to get drunk, eat and play childish games

We actually left the venue after 45 minutes

I would avoid at all cost, unless you fancy getting drunk, buying over priced food and fighting with foam fingers

This is disappointing to read Lucy. We are really sorry that you feel this was and didn't enjoy the experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very enjoyable but improvements required

The overall experience was good and interaction with the actors and other guests was exceptional. Sets were good and authentic to the beginning of the second film. It did not feel like you were in another galaxy though, more like a film set. More interaction with the lead characters would of been better and the locations were virtually all shops and bars rather than experiences.

The film screening was enjoyable and the mood lighting interacted well. My biggest criticism was being taken to the venue from the meeting point. Everyone was told to walk straight and an actor would be there to meet us. There was no one there! Lots of people walking around like headless chickens in torrential rain not knowing where to go. At least twenty minutes of the allotted two hour experience was lost as a result. The venue was only found by asking Wembley Security staff who happened to be around. This resulted in disgruntled guests who should have been excited in entering the experience.

This was my first Secret Cinema event. Did I think it was as good and enjoyable as other immersive experiences? No. Never the less it was very good if not exceptional and I would go again if arriving at the venue is improved, pricing is right and of course a film / television series that I am a fan of.

After reading the reviews I was…

After reading the reviews I was lowering my expectations, having been to a number of the indoor and one of the outdoor worlds, I wasn't expecting much. However my group really threw ourselves into the story, met and interacted with characters, got to visit a number of the side rooms and take part in tasks, delivering, stealing, setting people free etc...

We did pay for premium and I must say this was by far the best premium experience I've had, characters really made the effort to engage and you even had a side storyline to do as an extra if you wanted aside from your clan storyline. We didn't even get chance to eat until it was time to watch the screening.

Looking at the amount of empty seats in the screening, I think it may have been quieter than other times, and they didn't shut us in while then doing a second run of the immersive world unlike some of the other commenters here. Also all of the staff we interacted with were very pleasant and many interacted in theme.

Bring back the actors in the screening though please!

Not worth the price

On my way home from the event, as my friend and I didn't bother with watching the movie. This could have easily been 1 star. The extra star was because of the actors who clearly worked hard. Firstly, the instructions were given to wait on the bottom left of the stairs at the station. The guides were waiting on the other left (the right hand side) and it was pure accident that we spotted them. After I mentioned they were on the wrong side, they still didn't move. Directions we were given were to walk straight down, which we and at least 8 other people did. Please note: it was pouring rain. We kept walking straight and along the way picked up other people who were just as lost as we were. Apparently, there was supposed to be someone on the way who was supposed to tell us where to turn. No, there wasn't. That person obviously didn't want to be under the rain, understandably. We picked up more lost souls along the way. Basically, abysmal directions and tempers were already flaring by the time we found the place - a 30 min walk under the rain later. The event itself was boring. Guardians was just really boring and not stimulating compared to Phantom Peak for example. Be warned: your phones will be placed in a protective pack that only they can open when you leave. To round up this bad experience, we weren't told where to go to unlock the pouches until after we stepped out again under the pouring rain only to queue outside, before another attendee told us there were 3 more people inside to unlock with no queue. It would have been so simple for the 2 people who were guarding the doors to mention where to unlock the pouches. I feel sorry for the actors because they're clearly working hard but I wonder if they're unhappy and therefore just don't care about the details like actually giving correct directions to the venue. 2nd warning: don't go if you're epileptic or have mobility problems. It's not catered for. Disappointed and very underwhelmed by the experience.

Gigi, thank you for your feedback and apologies your visit wasn't an enjoyable one. We have a number of our team at the assigned meeting point waiting to meet our guests, plus other staff members en route in case of for any late comers. Apologies as there was clearly some confusion during your arrival. We state in our website about phones during the production, our friendly front of house team are on hand throughout the event and are able to unlock your phone should you need it at any point (We just advise that you go to a private area within the venue). Again, apologies that this wasn't made clear during your visit. We also mention about the strobe lighting on our official website and have signage at the venue too.
