Best knives I have ever owned by far. Very nice balance, first thought was they aren’t as heavy as I thought they would be, but after using I appreciate the slightly lighter weight. Gives amazing control with a razor sharp edge and a very nice feel. I’ve recommended these to several of my “cooking” friends already. 11 out of 10. Bonus for the beautiful look as well.

The items came in a very timely manner
The items came in a very timely manner. They have been used in many types of cooking from all over the world. I am 75 years old navy submarine sailor and have been in many countries. My wife did the majority of the cooking for the family, but I had to cook all exotic dished and sea food. Seven years ago, my wife passed away and I was left with all of the cooking. I have elevated our meals and am always looking for some thing new. I needed good tools to do that which was easy to do except for knives. I have several sets of knives in storage that the not been up to the standards that I was looking for. Until the Seido knife set I have never been so happy in the kitchen until now. Thank you very much for such a great knife set and I can not fore see ever replacing it. VAM

I purchased a Kiritsuki knife for my wife and discovered something far better than the “Two Guy” knives we already owned.
After a few months my wife said she wanted another Seido knife, so I bought her an 8 piece set and she couldn’t be more tickled.
She gushes about her new Seido knives every time she uses them.
I understand why. They are gorgeous Damascus and razor sharp! And I love that I don’t have to keep sharpening them, as they keep their edges very well.
I recommend these knives to everyone!

They have good knives and terrible items
They have good knives and some other items. I ordered 2 of the bamboo mag blocks. The gift one came split and very low magnetic ability - can't hold their steak knives or any smaller knife. I'd say a split base is defective. They don't, no refund or help after I offered to return it for review. Great knives...maybe. Don't trust them.
Many items from them and this was a terrible experience.

To clarify for transparency, although this concern was reported beyond our standard 30-day window, we still offered a replacement for the affected bamboo magnetic block as a courtesy. Since you requested a refund, we already issued a credit back to the original mode of payment for one of the Bamboo Knife Blocks without requiring it to be returned, in order to resolve things quickly and fairly.
A split base is not the quality we aim to deliver, and while bamboo is a natural material that can occasionally react to environmental conditions, we take these cases seriously.

An Unexpected Upgrade in Every Way!
I searched relentlessly for the most elegant, robust, and visually striking steak knife set I could find. When I discovered Seido Knives, I was immediately impressed. When they arrived, they exceeded every expectation. The Damascus pattern paired with the polished blades is a true showstopper for the guests I entertain with my gourmet steaks.
The first cut was effortless and flawless. In that moment, I realized I had elevated my knife setup beyond what I thought was possible. I quickly followed up by ordering the 8 inch chef knife and slicer. Somehow, the handles are even more impressive than the blades. They feel incredible in hand, perfectly balanced, and crafted with remarkable attention to detail.
I am now replacing my entire premium knife collection with Seido because the balance, feel, and craftsmanship are simply unmatched. For the price, I would confidently put these up against knives that cost two to three times as much.
Take my advice. Buy the full set from the start. You will not be disappointed.

The appearance you described is likely related to the factory edge finish, which can sometimes include very fine residue or markings from the manufacturing and sharpening process. In fact, this edge is intentionally designed to be sharp and safe for initial use, and many chefs perform a quick touch-up on a whetstone to achieve the level of sharpness they personally prefer.

Even though i didn't need a 10 pc set
Even though i didn't need a 10 pc set , i got this set for their stunning looks in this handle color and blade pattern. First thing i noticed was how comfortable the knives felt in my hand. Well balanced and easy to use. I have used the chefs knife and the vegetable knife so far and they were so easy to cut with. I made spahgetti squash with pan seared chicken. If you've ever cut a spahgetti squash then you know how nice it is to have a sharp knife for the task. Can't wait to use the slicing & filleting knives.
