I was much happier with Sentinel Storage when it was owned by the previous owners. Now that Storage for Your Life has bought it the rent has been continually increasing AND they have changed the billing cycle from every month to every 28 days, which gets them almost another payment each year out of their customers. One of the gates always seems to be broken which defeats the purpose of paying for a "secure" storage space. I am currently on the hunt for a new storage location before my rent goes up again. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Read your contract carefully. Not only are Sentinel's rates much higher than average, but they charge on a 4-week cycle, not monthly, which means you end up paying way more than expected in the long run and your due date changes every month. Ultimately, they only care about making money - even if that means keeping your belongings. Don't miss even one payment, and heaven forbid you have an emergency that leaves you short on cash, because they don't accept partial or online payments either. In short, they make it as difficult as possible for you to get your things back once you're even slightly in default. Between the high cost of rent, overdue fees, lein fees, broken promises (received an outdoor unit, but was promised indoor) and a complete and utter lack of professionalism or customer service, I can safely say this was the worst experience I've ever had storing my things in the GTA. I will never rent with Sentinel or Access Storage again and hope this serves as caution to others searching for a reliable and affordable storage company - this isn't it.

Stop the price increases.
Your facility is very nice, clean and your personnel are very good (Nation). My reason for the low rating has to do with the removal of services (Garbage, Recycling) and the price increases I seem to receive every 6 months. My locker is located in Calgary Alberta, and don't have to tell you whats going on with the economy in this province. The price increases are just adding insult to injury.

The experience is fine, in fact everyone there is great. And the facility is nice and well maintained and close to home. The problem is the price is ridiculous. When the new company from Alberta took over they jacked the price to match everyone else's in Vancouver. Why do you think I went there in the first place? The place I was at before this place was more than a 3rd of my rent. Which I found outrageous. The last few times I've been there to pay my rent all I hear is people complaining about the price. What does that tell you? I can tell you, I really miss is APEX Storage. They raised their price once a year for maintenance costs and that was it. They had the right idea. This new owner raises their price just about every other month. Greed is an awful thing.

The staff were accommodating in providing an extension on our annual fees to allow me to get the cheque signed at a regular Council meeting.
They were also proactive in providing me with options to upgrade our security on both our units.
Service was fast and efficient.
