Shared Earth sells Fair Trade, recycled, eco-friendly and ethical products. Our mission is to tackle the climate crisis and create a fairer, more sustainable world. We are a WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation) member, and our performance is monitored regularly against the Ten Principles set by WFTO for Fair Trade organisations. Shared Earth began as a small shop in York in 1986. Jeremy Piercy, founder and Managing Director, travelled to India after leaving school and wanted to do something to help redress the imbalance of wealth in the world, work together with people from different cultures, and at the same time earn a living. Fair Trade was the obvious answer and the original shop contained a wide mix of products from Asia, Africa and South America. Shared Earth now imports its own unique home and giftware, jewellery, fashion accessories, wood, ceramics, paper, soapstone and kids ranges making us the largest retailer and wholesaler of Fair Trade products in the UK. Our policy is to provide quality, design-led products, not just to those who are already aware of Fair Trade principles. With Fair Trade sales showing no sign of slowing, more and more employment is being provided for artisans in developing countries, many of who would otherwise be out of work. At a time when global conflict seems also on the increase, Shared Earth's partnerships with producers are an invaluable way of building bridges, showing that people can work together for mutual benefit, no matter what their race, religion or culture.

bread warmer and basket
Purchased a bread warmer and basket. Firstly value for money compared to other retailers was fantastic and the quality of the item is excellent. The design I choose didn’t match what I had originally chosen but I love the design that has been sent so I have no issues at all. Well packaged and very quick delivery. I would use again and recommend.

Really Lovely Products
My nephew has a wolf soft toy and recently found a smaller version when staying in a holiday home and added this to his Christmas List. After searching I found the item on your website. I also bought my other nephew a seal soft toy. Both were delivered the day after purchase and are very soft and of good quality. Very happy with my purchase

Bought some gifts
Bought some gifts for my granddaughter’s birthday. We’ve visited the shop in York and love it. The online site was easy to use, with lots of fabulous gift ideas. The things I ordered were carefully packed and arrived safely very quickly. I will definitely use this website again .

Quick delivery
I was very impressed in how quick my order arrived. The packaging was spot on but unfortunately 1 of the mugs was damaged. After I let Shared Earth they were prompt to send me a replacement.
I really like the mugs and the price was good too.

Little gifts Big impact!
When looking for a Christmas gift for my sister at 81yrs of age, who over time has got most things, I spotted a rattan little shopping bag with a picture of a 🐈⬛.
As she has recently adopted a black cat this was perfect.
