The organization has been accused of using young, underpaid performers (some as young as 12) who are often treated as "students" rather than employees to bypass labor laws.

Such an amazing show! I was genuinely touched by the performers, and I hope that I can continue to watch Shen Yun for every year to come.

I've watched Shenyun every year. I go with my children every year. and we've truly happy and grateful to watch Shenyun. It's s top- notch art program,full of moral and humanistic values. my children have learned abount music thanks to watching Shenyun

I feel that Shen Yun's content is becoming more and more monotonous, too politically aggressive, and too little cultural content for my liking.

Amazing! Seeing Shen Yun is like going to Heaven. Very beautiful traditional culture of the real China. The orchestra, graceful dancers, hand made costumes, special technology with the backdrop transports you to another world. My family and friends loved seeing Shen Yun too in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We saw Shen Yun at 2pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. My husband also took me with family and friends to see Shen Yun in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Saturday, April 19, 2025. We all felt very blessed.

My husband and I attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts show, and we found it to be a truly meaningful. The performances were vibrant and full of color, accompanied by beautiful live calssical music. I especially loved the final piece.

Touching the Soul of a 5,000-Year Divine Heritage

I first heard about the prestige of Shen Yun Performing Arts back in 2016, but it wasn't until 2018 that I had the chance to witness it live in Taiwan. Due to various circumstances at the time, I could only attend the show in Kaohsiung with a fourth-tier ticket. Sitting on the third floor, quite far from the stage, my experience then felt incomplete compared to my most recent attendance.
On December 30, 2025—the opening night of Shen Yun's performance in Taipei—everything was different. This time, I secured a first-class ticket with a center-row seat, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the absolute brilliance of the show. From the digital backdrops, lighting, and costumes to the divine expressions of the dancers, their masterful technique, and the soul-stirring music... everything was flawless.
My emotions flowed perfectly with every piece. While watching the dance performances, I felt as though I were transcending into a magnificent, celestial world, living through each dynasty of China’s 5,000-year God-inspired culture (prior to communist rule). Moreover, the performance deepened my awareness of the ongoing persecution of religious believers in China, particularly Falun Dafa practitioners, and the regime's attempts to destroy this sacred heritage.
I have the utmost admiration for the artists of Shen Yun Performing Arts. I love you all so much!


I always thought this was art promotion ,but I never expected it to be religious propaganda.I dislike this,as it is overly politically motivated and greatly undermines its artisticc value.

I attended this performance on April 19 in Baltimore expecting a traditional Chinese cultural dance show, as advertised. That was the reason I wanted to take my 9y old daughter. Instead, a significant portion of the performance included heavy religious and ideological messaging that was not disclosed beforehand and felt more like promoting specific beliefs while diminishing others.

What was most concerning was the complete lack of transparency for families. There were disturbing and violent scenes, including one implying organ removal under coercion, with absolutely no warning or guidance for parents. This made it impossible to make an informed decision about bringing a child.

This is not about disagreeing with beliefs—it’s about misleading advertising and the absence of basic content warnings for potentially inappropriate material.

I regret every second and every penny spent. This was not the cultural, family-friendly experience that was promised.

I had the chance to watch Shen Yun Performing Arts on April 3, 2026 at Lincoln Center, and it was truly one of the most outstanding performances I’ve ever experienced.

Everything—from the live orchestra and choreography to the theater setting and costumes—came together so seamlessly to create a breathtaking show. Each performance left me in awe. You can genuinely feel the level of dedication and discipline behind it; it’s clear how much hard work the dancers and musicians have invested to reach such an extraordinary standard.

Beyond the technical excellence, what impressed me most was the depth and meaning behind each piece. Every story carried emotion, culture, and a powerful message that stayed with me long after the show ended.

If you ever have the opportunity, I highly recommend going. It’s not just a performance—it’s an experience.

Last night at Philadelphia, I experienced more than a performance...Shen Yun Performance Arts is a powerful expression of culture, spirit, and the unbreakable dignity of humanity.

From the welcoming venue to the precision of the dancers and the depth of the live orchestra, every detail reflected true excellence. Each story was brought to life with meaning, guided beautifully by the presenters, making every scene feel connected, purposeful, and live.

As an Amrikiun Magharbi, I found a deep connection in its message: that every human being is divine in origin, endowed with dignity, and deserving of universal, inalienable rights. Through moments of beauty, struggle, and resilience, Shen Yun reminds us that truth, faith, and justice transcend culture...they unite us.

In a divided world, this is more than a show...it is remainder of who we are at our best...The world need to see this.

I have read and watched many Chinese stories, but experiencing Shen Yun live in Taiwan was a completely different feeling. Witnessing the scene where a general braved the battlefield to rescue the infant prince, escaping through the chaos of war, I was deeply moved and wept for a long time (many others in the theater were moved to tears just like me). The performance was so magnificent and emotionally charged that it touched the very depths of our souls.
I personally have seen Shen Yun three times and even brought my family along. The show reaches the pinnacle of performing arts while carrying profound literary and humanistic values; it truly deserves a 5-star rating. Everyone should take the time to see it—don't miss out on such a wonderful experience in your lifetime."

it’s a well-known secret among those who have seen it and love it (thus the enthusiastic voluntary advertisement) but thanks to subversive Chinese Communist propaganda people think it’s some cult thing.

the truth is the Chinese Communists are terrified of it. because it exposes their insane crimes and they’ve tried to kill these artists and they still won’t quit. if that’s not awesome I don’t know what is.

the documentary Unbroken exposes the truth about it...like how on the one hand yes they have a mission, but on the other they are just world class artists.

I go every year and cry every time.

Watching Shen Yun is my family tradition. It is a great way to learn and experience the genuine traditional culture and know what is happening in China now. When the first time I watched Shen Yun, I was happily surprised that the group does know what is culture. The performance not only presents the beautiful dance, music, costumes, backdrop, but also the core of the culture underlying all those surface elements: the spirituality of the culture. After all, the whole culture, including literature, the spirit of the historical figures, martial arts, music, arts, etc. were all evolved around that spirituality. I saw from the performance the stories about Taoist masters, the stories about the funny little Buddhist monks, and the more modern stories of the courage of Falun Dafa people. Regardless of the beliefs/religions of the audiences, that spirituality and positivity are the real things with depth that not just entertains, but also makes people feel touched and connected. Loved it and my kids look forward to seeing Shen Yun after each Christmas. Nothing is more satisfying than watching Shen Yun after a good lunch at the Mediterranean restaurant with the whole family.

It was a joyful experience for me and my daughter. Really enjoyed the music and performances.
