Don't bother with this app
Don't bother with this app, it's gone down hill!
It was bad enough when they introduced a minimum cash out fee of £10, (you used to be able to get your cash at any amount) Now, they have gone a step further and introduced monthly account inactivity fees. I think you have shot yourself in the foot there Shopmium. Needless to say, I have put in a request for my account to be closed. Feel free to keep my £2 credit. I am sure with these continuing rogue practices, your days of operating a viable business will soon be over!
£5 bonus gladly received.
Noticed an extra £5 in my account. Was baffled. Checked emails and it was a bonus for being a gold member for a year.
We are quick to leave bad reviews, so thought I'd thank them for a good thing.
No longer a great app
Used to be a great app with genuine deals and fast cashback. Over the years offers have become niche & cashback minimal.
The change to having to reach minimum £10 to cash out makes it impossible to achieve. They introduced inactivity fees, if your account is in active for 6 months they take a fee of £4, if your balance is under £4 they take the lot, you got £2.30 they'll have that for the inactivity fee. My account became inactive due to the lack of offers that were not applicable to me (e.g I don't have a child or a dog....)
My balance is now £0 and I have deleted my account as it is a waste of time. I do not recommend.
Will not let me unsubscribe on email
Will not let me unsubscribe on email , it took me to login which I didn’t want to do . You press the unsubscribe and it asks to lo login. I hate companies that do this . Will never purchase from this company again.
A scam. Avoid.
This used to be a great app with genuine deals and fart cashback. Over the years it has gotten progressively worse, with items either so niche they are only available in certain locations, or the deal being only actually amounting to 10p cashback or similar due to pricing errors.
Then they changed that you have to reach minimum £10 to cash out which was ridiculous as the lack of decent offers to make the cashback worth it meant you couldn't really get to £10 of your earned money. Then they delete your balance due to inactivity when you have not redeemed any offers due to the lack of quality.
They are a scam nowadays and I have deleted my account due to how useless it is. Avoid at all costs.
Deleted!
What a disappointment. After using Shopmium for over two years, I’ve now deleted the app. Recently I submitted a receipt for KitKat cereal and, when checking whether it had been accepted, I noticed my balance was almost gone. At first I thought it was an error. Only after digging further did I realise my balance had been deducted due to an inactivity fee. That tells you everything about how uninticing the offers have become. Even Shopmium clearly knows people are not using the app, otherwise they would not need to introduce an inactivity fee at all.
I had £6.25 in my account and had been logging in regularly, just not claiming offers because there was nothing worth claiming. I received a single email giving fourteen days’ notice and that was the only reminder before my money was taken. Losing earned cashback after years of use because the offers are poor is unacceptable. Shopmium can get in the recycle bin! There are much better cashback apps out there and this one is no longer worth anyone’s time.
What a disappointment
What a disappointment. I have deleted the app after 2 years.
Here are the Pros and Cons I have experienced.
(Cons)
* The deals have got worse the past year, although I do check regularly, the offers were not for me and lots of repeated ones
* They have changed the limit to £10.00 before you can withdraw
* My account had £4.65. However, I haven't used any deals since May 2025, so they then took that from me due to "inactivity" although surely they can see I log in regularly and your offers are awful.
Pros
* Nothing unfortunately. Either they have have bad decision makers or poor business structure, it's not worth it. Plenty of better apps out there.
Been with them for years but recently…
Been with them for years but recently not so good. Whilst dealing with a sick parent and now bereavement, they closed my account through lack of use and stole £3.80 from me. I hadn't been able to get much more than this because the offers have been so poor.
Update: see below for an absolutely rubbish, says nothing, offers nothing reply from Shopmium. A pretence to show they care. Shame on you, just add the money back to my account.

Beware of the new monthly fees that they don't inform you about!
The products they have are never in stock at the shops, and I live in London so I've checked many shops, and you'd think at least one of them would have the items they offer. They also just change the T&Cs without notifying or emailing you. Now they just charge an undisclosed amount of monthly account management fee, so really they can just charge whatever they want. They charged me £4 a month, which is ridiculous compared to the rate that you can earn the cashback.
The app's basically a scam, so stay away unless you can find these products in the first place.
The product volvic a touch of cherry…
The product volvic a touch of cherry was clearly listed on the Sainsbury's offer page .However the company refused to honour the cash out. They repeatedly sent the same message to me.I scanned the product and receipt which was initially accepted Awful customer service.

Used to be good but changes terms with no notice
The introduction of the £10 minimum cash out was not ideal but was okay if there were enough offers. Sadly, the offers are poor with very small discounts and a very limited selection of items which is why you struggle to purchase every 30 days.
The latest problem is changing the terms during the day several times and after you have made a claim. The recent offer of a free soft drink for gold members included all the major stores like Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons, but at some point in the day Tesco and Sainsbury's seemed to have been erased leading to my claim saying it wasn't purchased in a participating store.
Misleading tactics such as the above makes me wary of using the app after reading other reviews. The tip is to cash out ASAP and don't count on the cashback either.
This used to be one of the best apps for shopping but it has lost its appeal because it cannot be trusted.
Update. After sending in a query stating I made a request while Tesco was listed as a participating store they honoured the payment for the second time. However, it has been a pain to chase it up.
£10 minimum cashback ruined this app
The £10 minimum cashback ruined this app.
Account management fees ruined this app.
The whole benefit of Shopmiun was that individuals could buy goods and redeem cashback on their regular shops. The no limit on earnings cash out was great. Unfortunately they've introduced a £10 minimum limit which means it will be years until my next cash out. The offers on the app aren't very enticing either and won't encourage me to spend more.
Support is very unhelpful and would not recommend. The final trigger to delete this app was the notifications saying "submit a cashback request within 14 days to avoid fees". It's just a ploy to buy useless goods. Good-bye Shopmium.
Dishonest cashback website
This may be the third time they do this. They say there's an item with cashback today, you buy the item, and then as soon as you try to scan it it tells you that it has been recently closed. What do you mean it's been closed??? I bought the item at the same day I saw the offer.
Waste of time and a scam.
This app is no longer worth it
This app is no longer worth it. AVOID it!! I am deleting the app! Goodbye shopmium
Uninstalled after using this app for 4 years
After using this app for 4 years, I have decided to uninstall due to the most recent updates. The offerings have been in decline for a long time, with minimal discount on already extortionately overpriced branded items however the changes to the loyalty scheme/inactivity penalties, and the intro of the minimum £10 withdrawal has killed this app off. This used to be my number 1 but I'll stick to Checkout Smart and Green Jinn. When/if things change, I may be back. Goodbye for now!
Scam that makes your cashback vanish
This used to be good and I previously got cashback for things I bought which made me trust it. Then it heightened the threshold for cash out to ten pounds and made it so you couldn’t cash out straight away, then they deleted my whole £8.50 worth of cashback that I had collected because I didn’t use the app for a while. At no point was I warned there was a time based expiration and when I contacted support multiple times, no reply. This app is a scam and takes your money.
Avoid
Been a customer for > 5 years.
Used to have good offers.
However, the offers have seriously declined, the imposition of a minimum £10 credit before cash back and the final nail in the coffin was the £4.00 inactivity fee, which is charged monthly until the balance is nil.
Goodbye Shopmium, you used to be good, but now all about maximising profit to the detriment of your customers.
I am really fed up with this company
I am really fed up with this company - seemingly I had a free chocolate bar for my birthday but when I came to redeem it was only for gold members!!! Why don't they make terms and conditions clear and uncomplicated. I'm not sure I'll bother anymore- most of the offers are for ultra processed foods anyway.
New rules make it not worth bothering with
They've sprung new rules on us to stop withdrawals until you've reached a tenner, and also penalties for inactivity. Not good
Terrible
Like others, I used to love this app but in recent years, the offers are poor and the introduction of deducting fees due to inactivity is unfair. There was no way warning informing me about the introduction of this process. Neither did I receive any emails in the 14 days prior to the £7 being deducted due to inactivity. I regularly check my emails and it simply wasn’t received; neither in my junk or main inbox. They’re therefore deducting fees outside their terms and conditions and will point blank refuse to refund you. This company has gone to the dogs, avoid.
