It is a legit app but there’s just…

It is a legit app but there’s just hardly anything on there. You have to scour loads of different supermarkets to get items that are featured. After doing a couple, I deleted it because there was never anything I wanted at any of the supermarkets I shopped at.

It only worked good the first few times…

It only worked good the first few times I used it , which was a few months ago. Since then it showed approved and looked like money was sent if looking at the Shopmium app but never received the money…..then all transactions since April 30th 2024 say they are pending approval and it is now May 31st. When I contacted the customer service through the app they asked for proof of purchase AGAIN, and wanted a screenshot of my account info with my email. I provided ALL of these things and still no resolution…… I think it is a 💩 app

So, after submitting my receipts more than once and screenshots of my account, which I should never have to send a screenshot of my account!!! Or a screenshot of my profile info with my email and birthdate!! ……..

I won’t be using the app any more and definitely would not suggest for anyone else to use it.

Approved but never received

Sent in, says approved to go into PayPal shortly, but keep getting text from them if I'm still interested and no where to contact them. Looks like all sites are closed, says no one there.

Sent 6 pictures of products and…

Sent 6 pictures of products and receipts for products purchased which included date,time,store and products displayed in photos only to be denied for May 10th purchase. Clearly 2.50 is more important to Shopmium than my business or time

Version 7.14.81 and 7.14.82 both brick the app

*Update* The even newer update 7.14.82 still bricks the app.
Additionally Shopmium’s tech support is outsourced to Helpshift which is an ‘automated customer service platform’ ie AI bots. I would like to share how I truly feel but that would violate trust pilots tos.

The most recent update 7.14.81 renders the app unusable. The description of the app update is ‘test review’.

When you boot the app it asks you to create a username and password. I’m already an *existing user* and it does not recognize me.
Delete, clean install, rinse, repeat.
Tech support worse than useless.
They keep asking me for the version of the app I’m using. Ummm, I included that in the subject line of the email and in all emails in the tech support email chain. They keep asking me to delete and reinstall, and oh what version of Shopmium are you using ??!!

I’d give it ZERO STARS if I could.

Rapidly gone wayyyyy downhill

As I have now seen many others have said, this has gone so quickly downhill. I have used Shopmium for several years and recommended to a lot of people. You can filter which offers are available for the particular store you are in which I always do. Recently, on two occasions, I have made the purchase (checking it is valid for that particular shop) and then they have rejected the claim saying it wasn’t available in that store. The first time this happened, I contacted them and they suddenly rectified it for me… this second time they have refused and just kept repeating their terms and conditions. I’m not willing to have to screen shot what offers I am going for on the off chance I’ll be told at a later date it wasn’t valid. Poor poor poor.

Good when there is actually stuff to buy

Shopmium is very good when you can achieve the holy trinity of something you actually want + the supermarket you shop in + a good discount. But this happens really rarely.

I am at gold level, mostly because I guess I'm easily persuaded when there's an offer. But I am now getting nagging messages saying I'll lose my status if I don't buy something in the next 7 days.

As the old joke goes about the man who asks God to help him win the lottery: meet me halfway! Give me an offer that works in Tesco and that is worth buying. Not the same offer for superglue or cat food that seems to languish on there forever.

It's a great idea but Shopmium seriously need to do more work in getting offers from retailers. I'm not going to go to another supermarket for a single item I don't really want, when I'm doing my daily shop in another one.

Edit: and it's happening again. There are no 'exciting products'. I don't want lactose-free milk or hair dye. The offers available at Tesco are pathetic.

I have been using shopmium for a while…

I have been using shopmium for a while now after using coupons. Com and I absolutely can't believe how difficult it is . I have just gotten tired of returning the item to the store which I will do because I am tired of it saying to works and scanning it and getting home and it doesn't work . They owe me about $21 right now and I just wait and return the product. It's not fair ! Every single thing I submit wants another pic and it's clearly on there . Then they say it doesn't count . Well it did a few min before I took the pic for Dove all over deodorant that I would never ever purchase for $11 (taking it back) so don't worry i will return it without a receipt (to not mess up my other items) So wrong !!!

DON'T BOTHER..

DON'T BOTHER... I used to love this app, but latley there is nothing that I want to claim & when I do see somthing, it is in waitrose, which is not even In a 20 mile plus radius

Awful customer service

Service has really been bad lately. Have used this for years and now I’m either only getting bots for customer service or really poorly trained representatives unwilling to actually read my issue and offer a solution. Just get copy and pasted response over and over again.

It’s a legit cash back app

I love Shopium as it’s a legit cash back app that allows you to discover and try new products while giving you either the full or partial amount of the cost back. The only reason I’ve gave it 4 stars is I’d like to see more products and I’d like the offers updated on a more regular basis. Brands get your products on the app in exchange for increased sales and reviews.

HORRIBLE service

HORRIBLE service. Resubmissions all the time. Lie in order to keep you from receiving rebates that you qualify for. NOT worth your time. Skip this app and save yourself the hassle. They start out great then they become a nuisance. We are giving them our personal shopping information in return for rebates they deny on a REGULAR basis. They WILL NOT be getting my business EVER again. Same people who owned coupons.com. Same issues another day.

Generally a good genuine site

Generally a good genuine site, but number of deals in 2024 has really dried up and nothing new has come onto the app. The deals that do come up are new products and not generally stocked by most of the shops. Never had a issue with Cashback getting paid.

Hopefully the number of deals will increase again soon.

They kept refusing to give credit…

They kept refusing to give credit saying the purchase was not valid for the store. I double check before I make the purchase. This is happening on most every purchase and there no way to talk to anyone. This is becoming a big ripoff!

Absolutely Terrible!!!

I keep having to resubmit pictures of the receipts everytime. I've tried doing it in sections to get a better look at the products purchased and it still doesn't work. It's so frustrating that I'm to the point that I just don't want to deal with the hassle and I'm going to delete it.

The app was great when I first started…

The app was great when I first started using it, but my last several submissions have been met with nothing but problems, showing as “pending” with no change in status. Can only communicate via text or email and it takes forever (weeks to months) to get any substantive response. Keep you fingers crossed that you get any resolution. I have waited and waited and am still waiting. Beyond frustrating, and Shopmium customer service doesn’t really seem to care in the least.

Upsetting experience

I never got the rebate for the welcome offer. The app said the request was pending for a long time. I contacted customer support many times and they kept saying they will relay the info to the concern team. Then the app says I abandoned the request. Seriously? The fact that I never got the rebate is not a big deal but the way they handled the problem is upsetting. I don't even want to look at the app any more.
