I had been admiring rumored dresses for a while, but was uncertain about their legitimacy, so I held on buying anything. Eventually, they had enough of a following that I felt comfortable buying from them. I bought two dresses and was very excited for their arrival, imagining all the occasions/scenarios in which I would wear them, and had already styled them in my mind. When they arrived however, I was blown away by not only how ill fitting they were (and not size wise, but truly just ill fitting and badly/disproportionately cut), but by how STRONGLY they smelled of formaldehyde and chemicals. Like straight up salad dressing/vinegar/varnish/bug poison. It was so intense that my dog started sniffing the air and then barked at the package when I brought it upstairs. Even I could smell it through the still sealed, plastic package. Thinking it was the packing itself, I removed the dresses and let them hang out in the open air for several days. The smell never went away. It was horrible. I didn't even want to try the dresses on until I was about the shower, because I was that concerned with whatever they were coated with. The smell was so strong in fact, that I could smell it from two rooms away when the wind would blow, and eventually had to pack them up and put them in the hallway because I couldn't stand it---and my dog would occasionally bark at the door from the smell. I have bought fast fashion and have experienced something similar in the past, but never anything this overwhelming. Initially, I was pleased with Rumored's willingness to just take the items back for a refund, and I thought that was good customer service, even though they are selling toxic, fast fashion items at boutique prices. I returned the dresses, and somehow, when I set up the return, accidentally arranged an exchange on one of the dresses instead of a return on both. This resulted in a refund for one dress but an exchange on the other, which took a while to arrive. I immediately contacted Rumored as soon as I did that, before the replacement/exchange dress had shipped, but they said there was nothing they could do as it was too late to cancel. The rep said that they would add it to the exception list, and that once I received it, I could return it for a refund. Again, I thought, "Great customer service"! When I went to return the dress however, it was showing up that I would be getting a gift card, and not a refund as promised. I contacted Rumored multiple times by email and never got a response. Eventually, I received a survey, asking me to "rate my service"---on an email they closed out without responding to. I mailed the dress back anyway as I didn't want it in my possession any longer, and figured the refund portion could be resolved after. When I then received a gift card instead of the promised refund, I called them out on this and sent more emails, threatening to report them to my bank, and finally responded. They claimed they had responded and to "check my spam". There was NOTHING in my spam, junk, or anywhere in my inbox, indicating that they had responded. Then the rep went on to deny my previous interactions, claiming they "don't send text messages", and that I was interacting with a fraudster. NOT TRUE. When you chat with them, the messages are saved/forward to my phone. I also have screenshots. I also have emails. This person was too lazy to look into any of it. she then again denied refunding me as previously promised. It wasn't until I took to instagram, and wrote about my experience on about six posts before I got my refund REAL quick. Not something I ever do or want to do, but I felt I had no choice. I will never shop with them again. Bad clothes, bad experience, bad customer service when all was said and done, as this never should have happened.

Incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional response from this business “correcting” a customer on semantics. Replying to every comment on here defensively shows a desperate business doing poorly. “Price gouging” — correct definition or not — or not, they are significantly increasing their prices. They raised the price of an item that was much less expensive even before the holidays. If that’s their business model, they’re not doing well and passing it along to customers, then getting defensive when someone sees through it. They’re right. These are non-essential goods. Don’t shop here. You’re getting ripped off. Good luck staying in business. Here is another 1-star review.

Poor. I pre-ordered a dress back in early November with estimate deliver being by Dec 5/6. After I waiting 3 weeks, I message the company asking where the dress was since online it was available for instant purchase. They finally set the dress out and it arrive well over 5 weeks after I purchased. Dress was poorly made. I started a refund but was alerted that I can only receive store credit. Do not buy from this company. Complete scam and unreliable!

My entire experience was great! The shipping was quick and the quality of the clothing is excellent. I will definitely be purchasing more items from Rumored!
I got a size small and it fits perfectly, a little oversized look which is exactly what i was going for. The material is so soft and comfortable, I am constantly reaching for it over other sweaters in my closet! 10/10 recommend.
Every time I get clothes from rumored I am shocked at the quality! Everything is so cute and such staple items. I will 100% be buying from them again and again!

Sent me a code after I submitted my email and number...code doesn't work. Keeps adding package protection and won't let me remove it. My cards protect my purchases so I don't need to pay extra for that. Not a good experience here.

Ordered the sun valley sherpa for fall and it is so cozy. It's the perfect oversized and I'm obsessed with the zipper detailing. I got the tan with red zipper!

On a thing I did return, the post office said they under say the weight of the package to save money and changed it to the real weight. But those are two untrustful things in my opinion.

Almost two months since I placed my order and still NOTHING. Customer service is useless – they just blame customs instead of taking responsibility. Zero transparency, zero accountability. Feels like a scam. Avoid at all costs.

I used to be a loyal customer but recently interactions with their shop REALLY soured my impression
1) They cancelled my Black Friday order which I applied an additional coupon to. Refused to let me run the discounted order again. Super sketchy!
2) They asked me to complete a 30-40mins survey for a big discount code. I completed it just to be notified “this code can only be used for orders $300+” this feels like an unethical practice as this rule should be disclosed prior to survey
3) I’m not saying their clothing is shein quality but it’s definitely on the thin, fragile side and none of their pieces is worth $150+. In the trying economy of 2025, I noticed a 30%-50% price hike to their catalogue, without offering anything innovative or better in return. The designs are cliche. The material is thin as usual. This price hike is tone deaf, unwarranted, and disgusting. Way to isolate new customers and old customers alike
Having worked in fashion and luxury fashion, it’s safe to say If this shop doesn’t change their direction they will go down by mid 2026. You can all save your money and wait for clearance sale.

Terrrrrrrible product! How is this company in business? I bought a $300 dress. It’s sooooo cheap! The top layer is see through and the slip beneath is ten times bigger so it bunches and because the top layer is sheer, it’s very visible. Not to mention, it’s so hard to get on - no zipper. I don’t care about a zipper normally but for $300 I expect quality! The fit is also terrible. The slip doesn’t go high enough at the top so your boobs show through. And I don’t have perky boobs, they’re small but not staring at the ceiling if you catch my vibe. How is any woman wearing this dress? I am ASTONISHED that the three people who wrote five star reviews gave those…but then I noticed that my 1 star review didn’t show up. Three five star reviews? Doubtful. Probably influencers. They purposefully leave out negative reviews which gives potential buyers a skewed impression of the overall quality. This type of biased reporting is BS for a digital shop. Be honest and transparent. I would have returned if it weren’t a required bridesmaids dress. No one was impressed by the way. All had the same feedback. Wish I’d saved my $300 and bought something from a real designer.

This company is a scam. They take weeks to ship out your dress and will not cancel your order even when they are late to ship. It’s been weeks and still don’t have my order and they will not cancel. Do not shop with this company.

Obviously, I know it's not their fault, but I've dealt with companies who have still issued a refund or store credit after a package got lost, just out of good faith.
