These guys are scammers

These guys are scammers.

They promised my mother they would cancel her subscription and didn't. When she was charged again, for an ENTIRE YEAR of things she has not received yet! They claim they cannot refund her any part of her money. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THESE PEOPLE.

BUYER BEWARE!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!: I bought a 1 year subscription for my daughter-in-law. When signing up I was unable to get the site to work properly so I called them. They could not get it to work either as a "Gift". I was adamant that it has to work as a gift so SHE would get the mailings-I didn't want to get the shipment and then deliver them to her myself. So they said we should just put it in her name. I asked-what about the auto-renew? This is a ONE time gift. They assured me all would be fine-Well NOT fine - they did what they did to everyone else here-auto renewed and then refused a refund or pro-ration of any kind. I guess that is the only way they can stay in business-they can't count on their product prompting anyone to actually make a conscious decision to renew so they rip people off for an extra year by auto-renews they KNOW the people do not want and must have some legal jargon buried in their site because my Citibank card dispute did not refund.

Unethical Business Practices

I have the same complaint as everyone else. I only signed up for 3 months. I never used them & then I was charged for another 3 months. I notified them that I wanted to cancel & that I hadn’t realized that this would auto-renew. By the time they responded with a canned response they sent out another 3 months. They don’t address the problem & they don’t notify you that they are going to charge you like all ethical companies do. You only get canned responses days later that don’t address the problem, I would never recommend this company & so far can’t even get them to cancel my so called subscription that I never signed up for.

If you sign up for a subscription they…

If you sign up for a subscription they automatically renew it. There is no reminder, the money is just taken out of your account. You only get an email after it is taken out and they do not refund even on a yearly subscription.

Not worth the money

Not worth the money, they don't notify you that it is going to renew and they don't refund your money if you're not happy. Save your money, buy a waaaay thicker journal anywhere for waaaay less.

Not worth the money and auto renewal with out notification

I purchased on a monthly subscription for a year on 11/29/2023 for $168.68 and they recharged me $263.93 on 11/10/2024. They did not inform me that they were recharging my account for an auto renewal and when I went to cancel they said it was too late but they will cancel it for 11/2025 but could not refund my money. All auto renewals that I’ve had in the past text and at least email to let you know that you will be charged again and give you at least a day to change the order.

These calendars are barely worth the old price and definitely NOT worth the new price! $264?! I highly recommend you do not spend your money and look elsewhere.

Beware of being autorenewed without refunds

I purchased for a year and found that I wasn't using the product. I didn't realize that for an annual subscription it autorenews, and when I got charged, I reached out right away asking to cancel and refund. After 3-4 back and forth emails, they finally canceled but didn't refund. They stated "As a small woman-owned business, we carefully plan and produce our inventory in advance to ensure each member receives their journals on time" and referred me back to the terms. Of course I want to support small, woman-owned businesses but don't think they should throw that at me for a reason that I can't cancel. I also don't see why they can't adjust their inventory planning for an entire year ahead when I'm letting them know in November. All in all, super disappointing and beware of what you sign up for.

Won't ever resubcribe

I was a happy subscriber until my yearly subscription came due. They did not send a reminder that it was new and charged me. It seems to be higher then last year too. When I wrote saying I did not get a reminder and asked for a refund stating I was having financial difficulties -they basically said there was nothing they could do and if I didn't want to use the planner to pass on to someone else. They keep referring to the sonderfamily. I don't think they are family oriented as they don't care about me and my financial challenges. Even though I liked the planner -I won't ever resubscribe.

Silk & Sonder is a scam

I enjoyed my subscription for nearly three years and then, due to financial constraints, I had to cancel my subscription. I followed the directions on their website and cancelled my subscription. Next thing I know on 6/10/24, this wretched company charged me $260 for an annual subscription that I cancelled! My experience with their "customer service" was same as others, they denied that I had cancelled and gave me some song and dance about how they couldn't refund me for the whole year because they are a print company. I believe they should be able to at least prorate a refund for me. I seriously can't afford this. What's really bad is that this company was started by a woman of color, which I really vibed with and appreciated when I had the money to pay for it. Now that I see how they treat a loyal customer, I feel totally scammed by Silk & Sonder. I've recommended S&S to many friends and bought their gifts for coworkers. I feel like S&S has stolen from me for their profit. I'm informing all my network of S&S's ways and advising them to cancel, confirm, take screenshots of when you cancel, and to spread the word. Silk & Sonder, know that your little "wellness" notebook now causes me stress and evokes anger. I hope Silk & Sonder gets exposed for the rip off it is.

Silk+Sonder will STEAL your money! Not worth it!

I purchased a one-year subscription last June. I thought this was a one-time purchase. The company auto-renewed my one-year subscription ($261.18) without any warning, my knowledge or consent (on an expired debit card), and refused to refund any of my money. I asked if I could only be charged for the month of June, as I did not want anymore of these stupid glorified notebooks, and Silk+Sonder refused. Zero customer service and very sketchy business practices. After some digging, I learned I'm not the only one who got my money STOLEN from this company. The workbooks are extremely over-priced, and they just plain suck, to be honest. Save your money, and just buy a journal. Silk+Sonder is a SCAM. They will STEAL your money.

Buyer beware!

The same complaint as multiple people. They renewed me with no communication and are refusing to refund me for the remaining 11 months. I attempted to cancel months ago and thought I did, but no they charged me over $200 for a product i won’t use. Then told me to give it to a friend if it’s not for me. Very poor business practices.

No auto renew warning

I signed up for a year. I didn’t use them as much as I would have liked. I cancelled my annual subscription so it would not renew, or so I thought. Noticed I was charged an absurd amount from them. Contacted right away but they won’t give me a refund for the next year. Customer service just offered me 20% off for the future. No notice what so ever that my annual subscription was going to renew. Not a great way to run your business.

I wanted to like the product

I wanted to like the product. I found their socials cliquish and unhelpful. I would have stayed a member until they raised their monthly S&S subscription 50%. Not everyone can afford to pay $200 + at once for an annual membership. S&S shouldn’t be just be for the wealthy. S&S, you can do better. Disappointed!

I am beyond disappointed with S&S

I am beyond disappointed with S&S. I joined in June 2023 and loved it until recently. I even referred several members and loved giving great reviews. Then in February I purchased their new sticker pack. A couple of weeks ago I emailed customer service to get an idea of when they were anticipated to ship. No response. So, I posted on the Sonder Club chat to see if anyone else had timeline. S&S deleted my post without a response. I proceeded to email and post each time my post was deleted and I did not receive a response. Now, though I am paying for the digital access, my name is no longer viewable by any of my friends. My posts are not published and all of my previous comments are no longer showing up. I merely wanted to know if I was looking in the wrong place for clarification on the stickers because I was excited to use them in my April planner. Now, without reason I have been essentially banned from the community portion and I have no idea why. I can not understand why this is their practice and I have canceled my membership. As has several friends I referred. This is truly upsetting! Be warned that their customer service is beyond terrible and you will not receive a response.

Not for people with ADHD

The biggest problem that I have with this journal, is that they do not offer a trial to determine if it will work for you. I have ADHD and have been trying to find some kind of method to help me organize and stay on task. After 30 days or so I determined this journal was not going to work for me. I called to cancel and they would not refund any of my money. The total cost is $189 a year. This is not an inappropriate price to pay IF it works. But now I am getting a planner every month that I basically put in the recycle bin and never use. What a waste of trees and money. I canceled my subscription and told them that I don’t use them and that I don’t want them, and they still keep sending them. My subscription runs out in April and I have basically given the landfill 11 months of unused journals.

Do not give them your payment information!

This is a scam! They make it very easy to enroll you. If you attempt to disenroll, they keep your credit card information on file… Won’t let you remove it and auto renew you after you canceled the membership by “updating” your account!

Total Scam! Account will auto-renew even after you cancel

I first purchased the subscription in 2022. I was quickly turned off by their very MLM style of marketing which encourages you to get friends to purchase as part of your daily affirmation tasks. I quickly cancelled my subscription so that it would not renew. There is no easy way to cancel online, so I reached out to customer service for assistance. They sent me an account activation link and further instructions which I followed. I canceled my plan Jan 2023 and my account has stated that I have no active subscriptions ever since, however, in December 2023 they billed my credit card for another year. Every time I reach out to customer support I get the same canned message stating that once the plan auto-renews they will not issue a refund. My account still shows that I have no active subscriptions so there is literally no way to cancel without reporting the charge as fraud and getting a new credit card number issued. Their entire business model is based on predatory scam tactics. Avoid at all costs unless you want to pay for these overpriced journals for life.

Look out for their fine print

Look out for their fine print. I bought a year subscription for the planner and was not prompted when I ordered to make an account. Apparently, they emailed me the information. When I checked out I had to check off on their terms and conditions which apparently included an autorenewal and they auto charged me two days ago. I immediately contacted them and explained that I did not want another year subscription and explained the circumstances. They have not sent me anything nor have they shipped anything according to the tracking number generated. They are refusing to refund any money despite the fact that I had no way to cancel my account and they could see on their end that I never completed the set up. A bunch of scammers that sell a product that isn’t even good. Save yourself the trouble and money and buy from a more reputable source - wish I would have checked trustpilot before I ordered.
