Used it for a 10 day Japan trip and it worked great. I actually activated it in Japan and still worked fine. Speeds lagged a little during busy hours in the evening but that is true in the US too. Will use again.

Great again. My wife and I have used SIM Local before in Aus and Japan and now we’re using them in Argentina. All good. I did have a little trouble with one of the packages that I chose but the support team at SIM Local were very supportive and refunded me that package price. I then chose another and everything worked fine.

Esim would not work
Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the Sim local technical team for 24 hours, we failed to get the US esim working, however this was due to a technical issue with the airtime provider and not Sim Local
SimLocal did everything they could to resolve the problem, and their followup communication was second to non.

During the time you contacted us, there was unfortunately a temporary issue with the Lyca activation website, which prevented the registration process from completing. As soon as you reached out to our support team, we began investigating the issue and worked with you throughout the process until the service was restored.
We understand how frustrating this situation must have been, especially while waiting for the network registration to be completed. As per the USA regulatory requirements, the eSIM needed to be registered before it could be activated. Once the network issue was resolved and at your request, we also proceeded with a full refund for your order.

I love that I could easily get an esim quickly with a well known carrier. I got loads more data that my US roaming plan gave me and great coverage. It allowed me to video call and post photos without worried about going over a data cap.
