Seamless Booking & Exceptional Support – My SimplyBook.me Experience

I discovered SimplyBook.me after asking ChatGPT for a service to handle bookings for a new tour company I’m building as a personal project. Before sharing my experience, I should mention that I’m an entrepreneur in the accommodation industry and very familiar with IT solutions for management, sales, and related areas.

With that said, I was incredibly impressed by how easy it was to set up SimplyBook.me! The interface is user-friendly, and the setup process was remarkably quick. It provides a pleasant and highly intuitive user experience.

While setting up my services and managing the "back office," I encountered some obstacles and needed assistance—this is where I truly fell in love with SimplyBook.me. As I mentioned, I already use various applications across different industries, but none compare to SimplyBook.me in terms of customer support. When I submitted my questions through the support chat in the lower-right corner, I wasn’t redirected to an insufferable chatbot; instead, I was instantly connected with a real agent.

That’s when SimplyBook.me blew my mind! Every agent I interacted with across multiple conversations provided some of the best customer service I’ve ever received. They were all—without exception—courteous, efficient, and clear in their responses. I recall one particularly complex issue related to my specific services; the agent resolved it within minutes, offering a brilliant workaround that left me stunned!

While setting up my website in WordPress, I used the tutorials available to users, and configuring everything exactly as I wanted was incredibly easy. The widgets are perfect!

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company. Customer service is incompetent. Half a year after canceling my service, I still have an open subscription being billed, but I have no access to my account because it is closed. Because it is closed, customer service can't do anything either. But worst is, my booking link still works and some client find it on the web and book. Because I am using a different booking system now, I get double bookings. Again, customer service does NOTHING. What kind of company is this. I am outraged.

Our support has mentioned that if you delete your account with us then the booking website will disappear and your clients wont be able to book with you. Also you mention that you have a subscription that is being billed and at the same time you dont have access to the account, the system does not work that way. booking services have been down for 5…

booking services have been down for 5 hours now. been happening intermitently this week since I reported another issue. The company is targetting my account becasue I have been compalining about their system. I've visited other companies that use the service and theirs are working fine. Needs to be investigated!!

bad product, bad customer service

been using simplybook for over a year and the interface is really bootleg and sketchy. non-intuitive.
they constantly try to upsell more features to you.
i want to cancel my subscription, but they will continue to receive bookings despite cancelling. this means that they will withhold your bookings from you (and continue to accept bookings!!!) until you pay them

To clarify, when a subscription is canceled, bookings can still be made because some businesses unintentionally let their subscription lapse, and we want to ensure their operations aren't immediately disrupted. However, we completely understand that this may not be ideal for those who are intentionally closing their account.

For users who wish to stop receiving bookings immediately, we provide the option to hide services and service providers, ensuring no further bookings come through. Additionally, fully deleting the account will remove it from our system entirely, preventing any future bookings.

We acknowledge that the current process of regaining access to manage bookings after cancellation has caused frustration, and we are listening to your complaint (as well as another one that we just got) and are implementing a new solution to address this to make sure that future clients wont experience the same.

It's pretty much the same issues as…

It's pretty much the same issues as others have said here already. Overpriced, complicated, unable to close the account fully, etc. After cancelling the subscription clients can still book appointments but, you can't see the appointment information and the customer service team won't help. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

A reply to the reply below; I didn't forget to renew the subscription. I didn't want it renew from how terrible the system is.
They send you an email to say that you have a booking, but you need to jump through hoops to get the information the client gives with the booking questions. It's overly complicated.
I was informed that account deletion wasn't advised. Luckily I had the clients phone number to contact them as they would have shown up to an appointment with no-one having a clue what they're here for and not being prepared for them at all. And like I said, no help other than renew the subscription form CS. This could have resulted in negative feedback for me and my company so I don't think it "unfair" to let others know about the experience so they don't have the same thing happen!
You bring up the chat as if the chat happened before the incident, it was afterwards. I'd have though mentioning the private chat on a public review site would be a breach of GDPR? Especially when what you said was misinformation. But I'm not entirely sure on that

Hello Fraser, we often have users who forget to renew their subscription and they do want their clients to be able to book appointments even though they forgot to pay and that is the reason why the system is set up in such a way. However it is easy to either hider the service&service providers and thereby making it impossible to book or you just delete your account and then from that minute onwards nobody can book. As far as I can see in the support history then our agents told you about the option to delete your account to stop receiving bookings so I feel like this review is a bit unfair. If there is anything that I can do to help, then please respond to this feedback and we will help you out.

Hi Fraser no I know that you did not forget, I was just trying to explain the reasoning why it is built this way and then that if you want to stop using the system, then we expect users to delete the system and thereby you will not be able to get any bookings anymore and problem solved.

I did not mention any personal information about you regarding the chat, just information about what our support agents told you. I am really sorry that your experience was this bad, and if there is anything that we can do to make it up to you please let me know.

Extremely useful for your company

I'm a therapist and have been using SimplyBook for four years on the basic pricing plan. I'm extremely satisfied with this software, which I've been able to seamlessly integrate into my website to expand my business.
This software saves me a lot of time; clients book their next appointment online at a time that's most convenient for them, without me having to intervene.
Thanks to the connection between my professional activities and my personal calendar, my schedule is completely under control. The reminders sent before each session allow me to always be punctual and drastically reduce the number of times clients forget to book.
In terms of configuration, the setup is simple and intuitive. The interface is well-structured, and numerous explanations guide you through each step of the configuration process. This means I can adapt and modify the settings myself without asking my webmaster for help.
If needed, the online support is very responsive and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to answering more specific questions. I have always been very satisfied with the assistance I have received.
Today, with the increase in my turnover, I decided to subscribe to a higher pricing plan in order to benefit from additional, more advanced and more efficient features in order to retain my customers. I really appreciate the scalable aspect of the software because it accompanies me as my business grows and develops while adapting to my new needs.
I highly recommend SimplyBook to any business that wants to invest their money wisely in a system that will be usable and scalable over the long term.

Have been using the platform for over a…

Have been using the platform for over a year now. It’s fine if you have a small business with a handful of bookings a week. But when it gets busier and the complexity slightly increases - this subpar system simply doesn’t cope. It’s extremely glitchy, and the support is awful. They keep diverting responsibility and constantly offer workarounds for situations where the system should have easily coped. 0 accountability from their team, would not recommend to anyone who is hoping to grow their business. Just in the past week, I’ve had 3 double bookings where clients received a confirmation email but the system spuriously cancelled the appointment and allowed someone else to book at the same time (even though they paid for this appointment in advance!)

Regarding the payment and booking cancellation issue:
1. Our support team has previously communicated that there was a clear error message related to a Validation issue with the payment. As this involves your Stripe account, we are limited in our ability to investigate directly with Stripe. We recommend reconnecting your account to see if this resolves the issue.
2. The specific error you're encountering is not listed in Stripe's standard error codes, limiting our ability to troubleshoot. If a customer was charged, we advise providing proof of the charge and the error message to Stripe for their explanation. While we can attempt to communicate with Stripe on your behalf, they typically require the account owner to contact them directly.
3. It's important to note that SimplyBook.me does not cancel paid bookings. The system only cancels bookings that have not been confirmed, and in this case, we had not received confirmation from Stripe about the payment.

Concerning the double booking issue:
We understand the severity of this problem and its impact on your business. As soon as we receive information from Stripe about the error itself, we will provide you with updates on our progress and a timeline for resolution.

I paid for subscription for six months - the next day I tried to change that subscription to monthly - they said due to terms and conditions. It was not possible. They could’ve done the right thing and they decided to keep the money.

URL and account delete.

Today, I was chatting with customer service because I wanted to fully test the system. Since I already had an account some months ago (did not have the time to test it), I was unable to do this properly. I then requested them to delete my account, but I was informed that while my account could be deleted, my URL would not be removed.

This means that although I can create a new account, I cannot use the same URL again, which seems quite restrictive.

Additionally, I’m unsure if this approach aligns with GDPR regulations, as deleting personal information should mean all associated data is removed, including any restrictions on reusing the URL.

In our system, the URL functions as a unique login identifier. Reusing an old URL for a new account poses a security risk because we have no automated way to verify whether the new account belongs to the original owner or a different user. If we allowed URL reuse, an entirely different person could potentially take over the previous identity, which could lead to confusion or even impersonation risks.
Regarding data deletion and GDPR compliance, when a user requests account deletion, we fully remove their personal data, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. However, the URL itself is not personal data under GDPR unless it contains personally identifiable information (PII), which in this case, it does not. The retention of used URLs is a technical safeguard to prevent unauthorized reuse and does not store any personal details tied to the previous owner.
Additionally, when a business URL is indexed by Google, it can take time for search engines to remove it. Allowing immediate reuse of URLs could lead to situations where old indexed content points to a new, unrelated business, causing potential reputation and SEO issues.
While we understand that this policy may seem restrictive, it is in place to maintain security, prevent identity conflicts, and ensure system integrity.

Normally the URLs are deleted from Google in three months and then they become available again.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience for you, but one solution would be to get your own custom domain name and that would fix the problem, or find a new one with us, or wait until your original one gets released by Google.

Limited and dated

I can speak as a "service provider" and not an account manager. My primary use of SB is basic: make appointments with clients that have been contacted by other team members. As a service provider, simplybook is dated an limited. Their "2 way sync" barely qualifies as such. First, you cannot see what times are already blocked in another calendar outside of a view that is limited to one day at a time, which makes it impossible to use SimplyBook's calendar to find available times with a client. Instead, you have to go to the other calendar, find available times there and then book it in simply book, which is the exact kind of thing a user hopes to avoid with 2-way sync. Also, changes in SB will show up in the other calendar, but not vice-versa. IOW, you can't modify or cancel SB appointments through any other calendar, you can only do it though the SB site/app itself. Calendar sync is far more robust in the other, similar apps i've tried, as are client tracking options and the like.

This company is incredible

This company is incredible!

We switched over from Acuity and SimplyBook's range of options and offerings is absolutely amazing.

At first it's a bit overwhelming with so many options but once you understand it's much easier. Their tech support is absolutely the best I've ever came across. You can live chat and almost instantly someone is there to help you with any problem you are encountering.

No show for initial meeting

Booked an initial meeting with these guys. Waited nearly 30 mins, no one showed up. Pretty bad customer service honestly. I'm in the middle of starting up a commercial bathhouse and I needed a booking system asap. I had already spoken to a few different platforms and I was super interested to see what this platform could offer. I put aside the time, was really looking forward to the meeting and after 26 mins of waiting no one even shows up. I've got a million different things to organise for this bathhouse and these guys just wasted half an hour of my time. Really not ok. Definitely lost me as a customer guys.

I'm a yoga teacher and have been using…

I'm a yoga teacher and have been using SimplyBook for over a year now and have found it great! There are lots of options at different price ranges to suit individual needs. As a sole trader, I chose the basic option which works perfectly. If I'm ever stuck with any of the functions, I'll reach out to the team via chat and they respond very quickly with detailed info on how to resolve which is great! My customers have always been happy with my booking system and that's the most important thing :)
