My case to long with representatives of my case comes and goes. It was so disappointing and stressful.
As soon as Shanzia Ahmed took over, everything started moving forward and she included or informed me with all updates of the case. I am very happy that this nightmare is over now thanks to Shanzia Ahmed.

Worst service ever
Rarely have I received such disgraceful service for anything, anywhere. I am chasing my father’s will to activate probate, it’s a stressful, emotional time and the bills are racking up.
3 weeks and 7 phone calls and still no will. “It’s in Leeds”. You would think it was on the moon!! How difficult is it to find someone who knows their alphabet to get it out the vault and post it?? Quite simply awful. You have been warned!!

Terrible
This firm decided to stop conveyancing towards the end of our purchase and sale with them when most of the work had been done. From there these were both handled very chaotically and shambolically causing us alot of additonal stress. They admitted they could not access alot of the previous work done when we did manage to talk to them. However, they never initiated communication or called back and the only way we managed to communicate with our fee earner and got both sale and purchase through was by going into the Lancaster office multiple times and asking their amazing receptionist Carolyn Lowe (who should be running the company) to ring them. Simpson Millar should be highly embarrassed - our sale happened a few days after it should have and our purchase time was missed as well even though we had the full funds with them the week before, and we have been told they could be in breach of contract for missing the cut-off times. Although other departments appear to be functional and get good reviews on here this is meaningless if their conveyancing service is so bad that we don't think we can rely on anything they've done.

Poor Customer Service
They have taken over a firm of solicitors I had used for 50yrs.
I rang them this morning to make inquiries about an amendment to our wills about our property, the gentlemen informed me they weren't taking on new business, when I informed him I wasn't a new customer he informed me what I wanted to do was classed as new business and suggested I look for another solicitor. Found his attitude appalling. Got the feeling they just couldn't be bothered.

We were advised and supported by Emma Davies (Simpson Millar) following a rather unjust school admission appeal.
Emma was absolutely amazing and we cannot recommend her highly enough. She was able to speedily review a huge amount of complex information and prepare a letter before action prior to judicial review proceedings which was spot on!
Emma was very supportive to us as a family - she was always approachable, understanding and honest.
We now have the school place we so badly needed and cannot recommend Emma highly enough, particularly if you have issues in dealing with Education law.

we needed help for our autistic son…
we needed help for our autistic son aged 19 for college placement under an EHCP. we used Hayley Buchan. Hayley was wonderful and we successfully avoided tribunal being given 52 week residential independent placement for an ehcp due to her help. we were so satisfied we decided to use her again for our 7 year old and her EHCP.

Great service from Hayley and Joshua
I recently completed a house purchase through Simpson Millar, who were recommended to me by local estate agent Tom McCann (who is also excellent incidentally)!
I have just moved into the area and had a negative experience with the solicitor who acted for me (from a different company) while selling my last property. The difference this time round was like night and day. Hayley Aspinall was my solicitor, and most day to day contact was through the conveyancing assistant Joshua Lawson. They were absolutely fantastic. Communication was fantastic. Emails were nearly always replied to in the same day, and if not then the next day. Organisation was great, and the whole process was very smooth. I would definitely use them again if moving house and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
