My experience with Simpsons International Removals was deeply upsetting and wholly unprofessional. Despite having paid a substantial deposit, I was subjected to cold, aggressive, and threatening emails that placed extreme pressure on me as a vulnerable senior woman. There was no empathy, no understanding, and no attempt at humane customer service—only intimidation.
Their communication style was shockingly harsh and legalistic, designed to frighten rather than assist. This caused enormous and completely unnecessary stress. At no point did they demonstrate any care for the wellbeing of their customer.
They were consistently unable to provide a clear or reliable expected arrival date for my goods. Weeks went by with vague, non-committal updates and no precision whatsoever. Communication delays were routine, and any information provided was minimal and unhelpful.
To make matters worse, I was suddenly presented with a substantial invoice to “release” my own goods, a cost that had never been disclosed upfront. This felt like nothing short of blackmail—pay up or remain separated from your own belongings. Being forced into this position after I had already settled the entirety of an enormous bill is indefensible.
When delivery was finally approaching, they asked me to specify days I was not available to receive my shipment. Astonishingly, they then booked delivery on one of those exact days, offering no alternative and threatening additional charges if I delayed. At the time, I was out of state and had no choice but to ask a neighbor to step in—an entirely avoidable situation created solely by their rigidity and disregard.
This company operates with aggression instead of service, pressure instead of professionalism, and threats instead of support. The experience was unreasonable, incredibly stressful, and frankly demeaning. I would strongly caution anyone—especially seniors or anyone in a vulnerable position—to think very carefully before entrusting their belongings to Simpsons International Removals.

This was the shipment of the personal possessions of a UK individual who had moved to the USA. The team provided great help in getting the paperwork straight at the start and also doing the inventory for US customs. The team that did the pick up were polite and helpful and made it easy. Highly recommended. Pricing seemed very fair for an international move into the US.

Our move from the UK to Australia is far less stressful with Simpsons organising our shipping. We haven't yet left the UK, so fingers crossed everything arrives, but the experience so far has been very positive. The staff in the office - Hayley and Hayley - are patient and professional, helpfully checking in along the way. A lady came to our house to double check everything we were taking, and gave us good advice. The removalists were efficient and organised. And the price was also good - thank you, SImpsons, for a great job so far.

Reliable, hard working and polite crew packed and removed our items from two stops. It hasn’t yet arrived so can’t comment yet on the shipping and unpacking element.

Everything felt very personalised. John understood how stressful and overwhelming I was finding emigrating so really helped me as much as he could to feel at ease and made the process as easy as possible. Hayley we couldn’t have lived without, she hand held me through the process and took her time to explain and assist with every step. Would recommend to anyone, 10/10.

They were so helpful from the start of the process. Very easy to talk to, they followed up promptly. Everyone I spoke to to make arrangements were clear and very supportive.
The removalists were polite and efficient and the whole process was stress free.

From the very start Simpsons were extremely professional , very friendly, and couldn’t do enough to answer any questions I had regarding a sentimental Dresser/ Display cabinet I was sending to my niece in Australia. I would highly recommend Simpsons for a wonderful service and for my part peace of mind .

I had a great experience with Simpsons! The moving crew picked up my items this morning and were very quick and well prepared. The Simpsons ‘back-office’ team were also very quick to respond to my moving enquiry, very responsive to any questions I had and very flexible with the quick turnaround. Really happy with the whole experience moving to SA with Simpsons. Big thanks to John, Hayley and the packing team (John and Andrew) — they were all super friendly and professional. From the start, Simpsons were upfront and the most affordable compared to other quotes I got. They always answered my questions, took my calls, and replied quickly to messages, which made the whole process so much easier. On move day everything went smoothly — the team were great with my 4-year-old too, answering all his questions and even showing him how the truck lift worked, which absolutely made his day! They also didn’t hesitate to use extra packaging to make sure everything was protected. After collection, my final volume came in lower than quoted and I even got a £299 refund! Couldn’t be happier — highly recommend them!

Simpsons have made what could have been a complicated move, very straightforwards. Their communication has been faultless and their guidance has been invaluable. All of the team members that I have spoken to have been courteous and helpful, right from our initial contact, through to the packing and moving.

Working with the Simpsons team has been a great experience! The two Hayleys in the office have both been superb in communication and guidance. Nothing has been too much to answer, and confirm on and they have been clear, transparent and very responsive.

What has been priced is what we have paid and the gentleman attending to collect, pack and inventory our stuff was prompt on time, courteous to the house (no scuffs on walls and took his shoes off when I asked and kept that up through the whole event)

Moving country is not easy and they have helped take a challenging time and make it a little easier!

My elderly parents are moving to South Africa and we needed a removals company who could not only move the furniture but help and advise along the way.

We contacted 2 or 3 others before choosing Simpsons. They weren't the cheapest but they were extremely responsive and the guy who visited knew exactly what was needed and gave all the correct information back to head office.

I can't rate Simpsons enough, they held our hands with form completion, sent us really helpful contacts for customs processing and most importantly nothing was ever too much trouble.

John and Hayley who managed the move were professional, helpful and went out of their way even when we messed up.

We now get regular communication about the progress of the ship so their aftercare is second to none.

The team that packed up my house in the UK were just the best so helpful and informative the team in the office head by John were terrific and kept me abreast of the progress all the way I would recommend anyone doing and international move to give Simpson a call I move back to South Africa and here I dealt with their team in Cape Town Britannia and the professionalism continued. My goods stayed in their storage for nearly a year and was delivered today in the most professional way a very friendly team. I have used them to move from Durban to Cape Town and will use this company again any time

We were moving overseas and honestly dreaded the whole process, but Simpsons made it so straightforward from day one. Hayley kept in touch throughout, answering all my questions quickly (and there were plenty!). The packing team arrived right on time, worked methodically and with real care, and they made sure everything was labelled clearly for unpacking at the other end. The whole move went far smoother than I ever thought possible, worth every penny for the peace of mind.
