Do not by sky stream. Poor product.
Started promising and was enjoying the features and the fact it's much cheaper than sky Q. However after few months picture started to freeze for a second or 2 every few minutes. This only happens on an evening so assume sky are throttling back my bandwidth. You have to keep resetting the puck and router. Then the sound and picture doesn't sync. I was sold faster fiber broadband as at time of purchase and advised this was needed for better service for sky stream. Total tosh. Now overpaying for broadband for sky stream that's below par. Sick of lengthy call times to speak to sky only to be told to reset or reboot.

Sky stream is very hit and miss sometimes it works as advertised other times it freezes or the talking search doesnt work. Seems like a beta testing product. I bought it for the formula one so I could watch it when it suits me, that's very hit and miss as well. If you've got a satellite box, stick with it
Would give it zero if I could.
Would give it zero if I could.
3 month I have had it and been working for less than a day, ring sky spend over an hour doing the same thing over and over again, when they do get it to work it last less than one program. Not fit for purpose should be able to cancel but being told I have to pay for the 2 years of my contract.now disconnected and in a draw, avoid this it’s not fit for purpose.

I have had Sky Stream since 2023 I continuously have problems I come home turn the TV on and nothing no Signal I Disconnect everything leave for a few minuets and then plug it all back in and it dosent work ring sky takes a long time to answer and then they talk to you like your a child to go through the motions after going throug every thing half a dozen times it finally comes on and then they say it was obviously something i was doing the puck has been replaced twice the remote twice and the HDMI Lead twice it drives me mad didnt want dishn or Aerial so now looking at other options I cant continue like this come home have your dinner turn on the tv and then spend an hour on the phone with SKY
Worse than paying more for just Netflix
Picture or sound often stop working, or just the whole thing. Very slow. Full of programmes I don't subscribe to and no way of searching or selecting the channel to see a list of programmes I can actually watch. The very definition of worse thsn useless!

I called Sky twice to cancel my Broadband and Streaming TV services, both times I was told the cancellations were confirmed. However, the Streaming TV service was never actually cancelled, and I never received the return kit I was promised. I also submitted two written complaints through the Sky website but received no response so far. This has been very frustrating and feels like Sky is ignoring cancellation requests on purpose.

Worse thing I ever done was get this it's been useless from day one
Awful customer service
I tried ordering Sky Stream but Royal Fail delivered it to the wrong address. Sky's response to this was to cancel my order and still charge me the £20 up front charge. When I rang them for a refund I was told I have to ring back in a further 10 days before they'll process the refund. Unlikely to try again.
Avoid at all costs.
I had this because a new minimalist TV mounting didn’t permit using the Sky Q box. The Stream puck would fit behind the TV. Despite my having 900 ultra-fast broadband, its performance is borderline useless. If I stream via the Samsung TV, all good, streaming via the Sky puck is lousy. It freezes, drops out, and the live pause is a lottery. I’d like to think that they may issue a software upgrade or even a newer puck but not looking likely. I’m surprised that a brand like Sky can look at the level of disappointment writ large here, but just go on selling it.
The worst possible TV experience
A short summary: it’s bad. I would rather have no tv than Sky Stream. I’d rather sit and look at the wall.
A longer summary: you can’t record things. You have to pay for ad-skipping. Sound goes out of sync. Channels don’t load. It stops working in the middle of watching sports. It reboots itself. It shows you the tv guide from yesterday. You have to reboot it a lot. It doesn’t pause the tv for very long if you get interrupted by visitors. You have no idea what episode you just watched, or where you were because you can’t ’mark as played’ / unwanted things (half watched shows) stay on your Home Screen, and you can’t remove them.
Sky have invented this to make more money. They want you to pay for ad-skipping despite you already paying them in the first place.
It’s half-baked; it doesn’t work well; it removes your ability to control things and sucks the joy out of watching tv.
A VHS recorder from the 1980s is a better experience.
Sky agreed to cancel our contract and we’ve happily gone back to Virgin with a 360 box where we can record things. It feels so superior. I will pay twice as much to Virgin to keep what we’ve got now.
Give Sky a call and tell them you want to leave because of the problems you are having, and that you are unhappy and angry with it. We got out that way, hopefully you can too.
Absolutely rubbish system. Avoid like the plague and read other reviews.
Absolutely rubbish system. Unfortunately, I can’t have full Sky or The much better Virgin where I am so signed up for this and what a mistake! The system is so old-fashioned and clunky. You can’t remove continue watching programs, there is no information about the programs available that you can get on any other platform, the remote control is absolutely useless! The shake to light up the buttons at night time does not work only for a second, the buttons are really badly placed, it’s almost impossible to link it properly to your smart TV to turn on and off at the same time and does it all very randomly. Everybody else says this on review sites and Sky‘s own Customer site. What on earth are these people playing at? Have they got no body who can program anything with any common sense and have none of the managers ever tried using it to discover how completely rubbish it is! Sorry if this sounds angry and I hardly ever give anything such a bad review but it is really dreadful and I wish I’d never got it. We’ll definitely cancel at the end of my contract. Come on Sky get a grip and sort it!
Slow and unreliable
I have changed from SkyQ to Sky Stream and it is a big regret. It doesn't work well. It constantly freezes, or does not respond to the remote control.
DO NOT GO FOR IT!
If I could give it 0 I would
If I could give it 0 I would. Sky puck is rubbish- it’s freezes, pauses itself, picture goes blank, audio out of sync… the list goes on. I am thinking of cancelling Sky and have been a Sky customer for over 15years and have always rated Sky until we recently moved house and were “upgraded” to a puck.
We went a week without anything as it didn’t work and was told it was my fault and I had installed it in correctly, turned out they spelt my name wrong. The service and quality has really gone down hill. I believe Sky are losing many customers over this!

It's like driving a tank after having a Ferrari. Changed from SkyQ as I wanted to reduce my monthly charge. It lacks any technical finesse, it's slow and has lost all the good features that came with SkyQ.

We’ve had nothing but problems with our Sky Stream. Both of our pucks constantly lose WiFi connection or stop playing mid-program with a “technical error” message, even though we have a strong 200 Mb WiFi connection. It’s incredibly frustrating and unreliable.
On top of that, you can’t even record programmes, which feels like a huge step backwards compared to traditional Sky boxes. And if you want to watch highlights of a sporting event later, good luck — Sky Stream labels the event with the final result, completely spoiling it for you before you’ve even pressed play.
All in all, the experience has been awful. If it were possible to give below one star, I would.
Frequent interpretations in programmes
Frequent interpretations in programmes, several reported technical faults. Wish we'd never switched from Sky Q. If you are thinking of transferring to Sky Stream please don't. Unless you enjoy looking at a blank screen for hours.
Consistently unreliable
Consistently unreliable - signal drop outs and channels often unavailable due to technical issues…..
sky stream from sky Q.
just got sky stream from sky Q.
what a mistake, it's crap.
constant buffering and dropouts.
Spoke to someone they said it's my internet not strong enough must be 30 - 50 mps.
My is airband 300mps (varies between 270 - 340 mps)
DO NOT GET IT,
sky ok but stream is the worst.
Horrendous
Horrendous! Deserves a zero!
Simply does not work. The puck needs rebooting all the time and you can’t just simply switch your tv on and start watching Tv. When you finally get it to work it glitches, decides it doesn’t have WiFi and doesn’t record things it’s set up to record. It’s awful.
