Safe, but collapsible
I ordered a Sleepypod after trying different backpacks that doubled as a carrier and reading reviews on other options such as booster seats and harnesses that attach to seat belts.
I have a small dog who isn't always 100% on car rides. I was hoping that this would stop some of the whining. It does and doesn't. On the way to our destination he still whines, but once he is worn out and back into the pod the whining ceases.
The sides are firm and there is a clip for attaching the seat belt, but it is only for one side. While it does zip all around, I found one side had a slight zipper issue at a corner so it would be nice if I could latch the seat belt on either side. If there is a way to do that, I'm not seeing it.
In all, the slight zipper issue (it catches and is difficult to move at a point) is not a huge deal compared to the relative silence I get on part of my drive.

We hope the following information addresses your seatbelt attachment concern: All Sleepypod car safety restraints have been rigorously crash tested using Sleepypod’s proprietary crash test dummies at U.S., Canadian, and E.U. child safety seat standards, then independently tested by the Center for Pet Safety (CPS), earning top safety ratings. Sleepypod carriers are the only carriers that have earned certification by CPS at their new standard that reflects the new 213B crash test standards for child safety restraints. Wonderful and well worth the investment
Bed is very comfortable for my kitty. The entire thing is very sturdy and very well built. Removable dome is very convenient, especially for vet visits. Car straps make it so the pod barely moves while driving, reducing the stress for my kitty

Easy to use crash tested harness

I bought the Clickit Terrain Plus in April 2024 and the rings on the back side have already both broken including the straps on the back. My dog doesn’t really pull much either so I’m not sure if it’s safe as it says it is.

Please be assured that the D-rings on this product are meant for transitional walking and do not have any bearing on the safety performance of the product should your dog be using it as a pet safety restraint for car travels. Wanted to share some positive feedback from my experience with one of the customer service agents from Sleepypod’s customer service. From the very first email, she was super helpful and attentive to my concerns. She took the time to thoroughly investigate the issue, asking for additional photos and even conducting tests at the office to better understand the problem.
She validated my concerns rather than dismissing them. When I asked about possible solutions, she went out of her way to help me out. She was proactive, responsive, and friendly throughout our entire conversation.
She went out of her way to make sure I had all the information and assistance I needed, and I am so grateful for her exceptional service. She made what could have been a frustrating situation a pleasant and stress-free experience.

Harness needs clip
I had given up on the harness until I saw the seatbelt clip. It is a game changer, wish it had been included with harness as it was barely functional without them but guess it was developed after I had bought mine. Glad they got one to me
