Sling Falsely Advertises Local TV Stations
Sling TV has limitations that other streaming services like YouTube TV don't have, with regards to Local Channels. Sling TV says they provide Live TV for Local Channels like the local ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox stations but they often can't. I am in Souther NJ and our local market is Philadelphia. My ISP routes through Philly but Sling TV doesn't have affiliate agreements with that local market so you don't get those channels. They falsely advertise local channels. I canceled the service and requested a refund but was denied. I do not recommend this company.
They must have changed their mind
My very first issue was discovering I wasn't going to get local channels...after I signed up. Before I signed up, I asked if there was an issue with me having Starlink as an ISP. They assured me there was no issue. In November, every day - every single day at 4:11 or 5:11 PM, we would get kicked out of the app without notice. Then, I was notified the app needed to update. That was great because after it did, I wasn't able to even get in. All of a sudden, there was an issue with my location on both my TV and PC. I contacted them and they said they didn't change anything - remember that update? NOW, all of sudden, it's Starlink. I live in Montana, but the closest Satellite is in Utah, so my location zip code shows as Utah. Person on chat is now blaming Starlink - nothing on my end has changed, but they want me to tell Starlink to change my location. I contact my ISP and guess what? It's a thing and all the streaming services know this. They could have White Listed me and let me go about my business. They didn't. I cancelled. The worst part is I had paid my monthly payment three days before - I don't get a refund and this is all on them.
Don’t do it
Don’t do it! I canceled my service months ago only to have billing restarted without my consent and they refused to refund me. Anybody else feels like an attorney should be contacted for a class action lawsuit because they’re stealing
Horrible Experience
I just signed up and paid for a sling. One day pass to watch all of the big NCAA championship games today. I paid for the account and then I added sports extra. Guess what, none of the conference championship football games were available on this horrible, misleading One day pass. I’ve spent the last half hour trying to figure out how to watch these games. I am extremely computer illiterate. I have used computers daily for 30 years. I have never seen such a horrible, confusing, and misleading site.
When Sling dropped ESPN3 with lots of…
When Sling dropped ESPN3 with lots of college football choices on the Orange option, they failed to provide other channels in that option. Now it’s just ESPN with one game to watch, like uninteresting Troy vs James Madison. Only added game is NFL Monday Nite FB. So not worth the cost. And trying to chat with Sling live agent was useless. I will drop the Orange option soon !!! SPREAD THE WORD !!!
If I could give this a minus 5 I would…
If I could give this a minus 5 I would because if I can't watch an NFL game on Sunday of all days that's a problem.. everything is confusing and frustrating bottom line.. the only reason I got it was because ESPN wasn't on YouTube TV but now it is so now I'm canceling sling TV and going back to YouTube TV... I guess, or something to that equivalent.. and ESPN is a pain in my ass too...
Heinous company
Was not able to use multiple devices as promised. Customer service is an automated chatbot. As a new user I asked for my money back and they refused. Completely heinous company and I am out for a month of subscription and watched NO TV.
I switched to FuboTV instead. It works as advertised.
Do not use this company.
SlingTV Day Pass is a Lie
SlingTV offered a day pass. I had the Select package. As soon as I paid for the day pass the subscription was changed to the Orange package and all shows I watched were then locked. I immediately called for a refund, not about the dollar but about the bait and switch. Via the customer service rep simply ignored my concerns multiple times and refused to do a refund. They lied about the day pass then repeatedly refused to make it right. Its a bait and switch because the day pass completely changes your package and then charges you the next day for that more expensive and completely different package.
I was offered 30 day free trial
I was offered 30 day free trial. The next day I was billed in full and not given the opportunity to use my free trial. I canceled the next day with difficulty. It's impossible to reach a human being at this company to try to discuss any issues. You can only reach them by Chatbot. And the chat bot sends you around in circles asking you three questions and then repeats them again--back o the first question again.
On my credit card charges there was a phone number listed. If you call that number, it's not in service, and you are directed to try the chat bot. So the bottom line is you cannot reach a human being to discuss anything complicated.
I tried to file a dispute and my Credit Union told me I have to have proof that they offered me a 30 day trial and suggested I call the number that is out of service.
The 30 day trial is no longer active and I can't find the screenshot showing that, but it does occur from time to time. Then my Credit Union told me that I was given a free plan--this was something completely different, and not what I paid for. The free plan is free--it is not first month free for the ,ore premium service I signed up for. I paid for something didn't get it. So I canceled it this next day and I'm having difficulty getting a refund.
This company is the worst I've had to deal with because they're impossible to even contact.
It's reached a point now where you do not want to ever take a free trial. Companies make a habit of screwing people over and then not wanting to talk about complaints.
The first thing you have to do is check reviews like these here which give them one star and make your decision upfront, not to use their service.
I don't think they offer anything worth having. There are plenty of streaming services that offer free programming.
I would like to get one news channel and I'm willing to pay a modest fee for that, but I can't seem to do that without signing up for 60 other channels that's not gonna work for me. I don't want all those other channels. I don't want the commercials.
I'm sticking to paid YouTube. Without commercials is pretty cool. I like it very much. I don't think there's anything else I really want to see. I have occasionally signed up for another streaming service which I get bored with rather quickly and cancel. I don't generally don't watch a lot of TV, but the goal seems to be that everybody should pay $60 a month and force-fed, horrible, lengthy , annoying, harassing commercials--screw that.
streaming is unreliable
Sling TV's streaming is unreliable, with frequent buffering and pixelation due to inefficient bit rate adaptation on standard plans, even on stable 50 Mbps connections.
Freezing, crashing terrible support, no refund
Tried sling twice . Never got to watch what I wanted. Bot based tech support is worthless and live support is just as bad if you can find a way to get to it. Paid and got nothing. Had to go to my credit card company to force a refund. Don't use these theves
Fraud charges made from their chat box on sling site
I purchased a one day pass for $4.99. Had a problem and needed tech help. Without my knowledge or approval, they charged me a $48 monthly fee that was going to be recurring! I gave no authorization and had no idea this was happening.
PayPal refused to cancel it, so I am now struggling with them to close my account. Sling chat box is where these fraudulent charges originated.
Sling customer service is non existent
Sling customer service is non existent, they have already gone to AI. No real service at all, (nothing can go wrong, wrong, wrong.)
FRAUD
I cancelled service in Sept -- I was charged 9/29/25. That should have been the end of it. I was then charged 10/4/25 $49.61 and on 11/12/25 for $49.61 for a total of 99.21. They are denying we were billed for these last two and explain they do not give refunds. Also, there is not a phone number for this company at all -- They said their bot chat is all they have
Avoid sling no customer service
Channels will not work. No help available. The automated system cuts you off and feeds you survey after survey. 0 accountability with this service. I mention that I was about done with all this and it cut my service before I could cancel. Real scumbags.
I cancelled my service before the due…
I cancelled my service before the due date and Sling still charged me! The chat says no refund awarded. This place is a scam and the service is just as bad 🤮. Beware!!!
The Worst
I spent two hours total trying to get the Day pass two weeks in a row to watch two weeks of Money Night Football. BOTH times I couldn't get it on my TV & the chat Customer Service was useless. I demanded a refund and they said "They're not giving refunds at this time. Also they're CS phone number is disconnected. Reports are they're having money problems. I'm finished with them. Waste of Time- and money.
SCAM ARTISTS
SCAM ARTISTS. BEWARE! DO NOT ORDER THE ONE DAY PASS. They will take your money, it won't work (error code 10-51 claims im using a VPN when I don't even have one), then they refuse to refund. SCAM. Sling used to be a company, now they operate out of a basement as best i can tell. Call customer support? It's trying to sell you a life alert device. Total scam. Beware.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience! Tried their weekend pass for $10. It never worked. Reached out to support and they claimed I didn’t have an account. I called my credit card company to file a dispute of the charges. Sling also said they don’t do refunds even though the service never worked.
Worst product ever
Worst product ever. It lied to me about being able to show me the Colts game. And then told me I had to upgrade to pay more for the Colts game.
