Unclear And Non Transparent Affiliate Practices

I am leaving a 1-star review for Smackin Sunflower Seeds due to their lack of transparency and unclear affiliate practices.

Before starting my affiliate campaigns, I carefully reviewed all of their Terms & Conditions. At that time, there was no restriction on running paid ads. I also made a conscious effort to run my campaigns properly, specifically avoiding brand-related keywords to prevent any conflict with their own advertising.

However, when it came time for payment, they referred to a “new” restriction (prohibiting paid ads) as the reason to deny my commission. Based on my prior review, this restriction did not exist at the time I launched my campaigns.

Applying or introducing terms in a way that disadvantages affiliates after revenue has already been generated is unacceptable. This reflects a business practice that lacks transparency and fairness.

I strongly advise both customers and affiliates to proceed with caution and thoroughly review all conditions before working with this brand to avoid similar issues.

DO NOT BUY FROM SMACKIN

I have purchased through Smackin 3 times at this point and I have to warn others of my experience. The customer service is atrocious. They have one Rep who is named Charlie and he is very rude, it take several days to get a reply so trying to have a normal conversation is impossible. Their shipping times are through the roof and they do not align with the tracking information provided. On this last package the tracking said delivered but I didnt have my package, I reached and Charlie said thye cant help just keep waiting and reach out in a week if I dont have it. They add a package protection charge to all of their orders but refused to assist when my package arrived damaged and missing product. I sent them pictures and then several days later they replied and asked for me to put all items back in the box before they would consider assisting. I work in an office with 15 people who all had items in that order, that request was absurd and ridiculous and an obvious attempt to not avoid replacing the items not only paid for but paid protect. Please DO NOT order from this company!

More of a 3.5 stars than 3 stars

Overall a pretty standard sunflower seed from the flavors I have tried. Their claims to less sodium/salt on the seeds holds true. The part about bigger seeds is more or less true, the seeds vary in size but for the most part they are big. The more flavor claim is the only one I have issue with as the flavor does disappear rather quickly but I feel like all seed companies have this issue so I don't blame them for that retort. The flavors are pretty good though and they have a wide variety. Only flavors I would warn others to be wary of are flavors that are supposed to be sweet such as the churro flavor (this one was salty and really weird to eat as churros 99% of the time aren't salty in any way shape or form) and the limited edition chili lime flavor (had WAY too much chili powder on it that it actually was the only flavor you could pull from the seeds and barely any lime flavor to help balance the dousing of chili powder).

At the end of it all, I was hoping for a newcomer in the sunflower seed business to blow my mind but in all honesty, the brand Spitz does a better job, and I think these guys can learn from them with the exception of the flavor variety. Spitz has practically no flavor variety beyond about 5 to maybe 6 flavors.
