OVERPRICED JUNK DO NOT BUY!

OVERPRICED JUNK DO NOT BUY!

Today I received my $1,000.00 gladiator Smart Home Lifter. 2 of 4 lag bolts snapped and are buried in my studs. I predrilled with the provided bit to an appropriate depth and when I installed them they snapped. I do not trust that the lag bolts will hold safely. I did not spend $1,000.00 to have my top fall and break.

There are virtually no instructions shipped with the product. I did find videos but they are not quality either. There should be quality instructions for the lifter based on the vehicle you bought it for. I bought it for the gladiator and it was labeled for the gladiator. I understand that it is the same lifter and frame but you should have it either pre marked for the vehicle that it was labeled for.

To their credit I called after hours and left a message about the lag bolts and Gabe, if I remember correctly, called me back. He stated he will send me new lag bolts but agreed that they were cheap Chinese bolts. He criticized the quality of the metal and stated it is hard because everything is made in China.

I will be sending this back tomorrow and if any issues I will be disputing it via my financial institution to get the money charged back.

I am very concerned about the quality and do not trust that it will hold my top securely. It is only rated for about 200 lbs. I just do t trust it.

Do not buy unless the quality is improved drastically and the price drops significantly.

Smarterhome Smartblinds

Over the last 4 years I've invested over $5000 in Smarterhomes Smarterblinds. Out of 28 windows, half of them no longer work. I've tried ordering replacement parts starting last June only to find them unavailable, I've emailed them to be told they would be back in stock soon only to find out a year later they are still not in stock. Not only they are not in stock, Smarterhomes no longer mentions SmarterBlinds as a product that they even sell any longer. Fast forward to today, go ahead and listen to their most obnoxious commercial about their lifter product on MSN. Buyer beware

Lifter malfunctioned

We initially thought the lifters were great. Until one day, I was lowering the lifter and one of the motors on spooled. Thank God, we weren't standing underneath it. But all our Camping equipment, Some of it fragile, like solar panels, was Violently dumped on the ground. We contacted customer service and they were great to respond quickly And they promised to send out new motors. That was almost a month ago. We've called and emailed and nothing has happened since. I don't think I'd recommend these guys because they can't support their product

My experience was completely different - and much better

My experience was completely different from the experiences related by other reviewers here - and clearly much better. I had ordered one of SmarterHome.com's Bluetooth-controlled Single Bike Lifters. The lifter arrived after only a few days, and in in excellent condition, but missing the small "lift frame" and two straps. I immediately contacted SmarterHome by phone and spoke to "Craig" the CS manager. He asked me to send a photo of the contents of the shipment I had received, which I did - and within less than an hour I received email confirmation that the missing parts were being shipped - with an apology for the packing error. A few days later those missing parts arrived and I was good to go. I installed the lift, absolutely love it, and - in my case at least - could not be happier with the service I received (and the performance of the product itself).

Unbelievably bad service

In an era in which businesses succeed or fail based on customer feedback, I don't expect SmarterHome will survive for the long haul. My wife and I spent nearly $4,500 on smart blinds to furnish our new home. The blinds themselves are great and installation was a breeze, however, two of the 10 blinds we ordered did not function as advertised. After receiving the blinds and trying to puzzle through everything I could find online to get them to work with the app, I reached out to customer service. The rep just kept walking me through the same steps I had already tried dozens of times. By this time, I had spent several hours trying to get them to work on my own and another several text messages (and more hours) of back and forth going over the same ground with the rep. I finally asked for a resolution that didn't waste any more of my time. I was then only offered a "warranty" replacement that a.) required I send the faulty parts back to SmarterHome so they could determine whether or not I would have to pay for the parts or b.) I would pay for the parts up front and they would determine whether I would get a refund. Neither of these options was satisfactory to me, since all I wanted was what I'd already invested thousands of dollars in and unwilling to pay more for something that was not my fault. A manager intervened and, after I explained the situation, agreed to send me two replacement motors and batteries. Then silence. I have since reached out to the company multiple times and not received any response at all. It's frustrating considering the broken blinds are in rooms with other blinds, making the entire "smart blind" system inoperable (and unnecessarily expensive).

Misleading

Went to their website to purchase a platform lift. one one page the price is $1429. When I clicked to purchase the $1429 price populated briefly and then replaced with $1599. When I call I was told the lower is for items that are not yet available. It appears a new products are "coming soon" but not yet available. This is wrong to use prices of items that don't exit and cannot be pre ordered. For this we have consumer affairs departments to complain.
