Berta hosted a wonderful online webinar which I attended and gave me great advice on how to improve my job search, particularly the importance of networking. Social Impact Newbie has some amazing resources which have given me a clearer idea of what to look for when applying for jobs. Highly recommend!

Searching for jobs and understanding the types available, what to apply for, and which titles are applicable can be very overwhelming, especially if your background has mostly been as a graduate student. Joining the social impact newbie community was a a breathe of fresh air, as I newly found a community that could relate with my journey in navigating the social impact space newly.

Berta provided a very safe and welcoming space for everyone. She prepared intriguing questions/jam boards for newbies to social impact. She allocated time for Zoom breakout rooms, which was a great way to think about my aspirations in seeking jobs in social impact as well as learn about my cohort's interests. I recently joined the Community and only participated in a webinar on how to network on LinkedIn, and I found it really useful! The presentation was well structured, Berta provided concrete examples of the tips she shared - which were both fictional and based on her personal experience - and the cheatsheet that was shared at the end looks simple but a good starting point.
