Sotrends knife sharpener scam…
I purchased an Electric knife grinder online from Sotrends that was listed frequently on the Apple News website. The price was $59.95 that I expected to be AUD as USD was not listed, but I was charged USD $95.33.
So much for expecting Apple.com to host reputable companies.

Don’t buy anything from SoTrend. I stupidly responded to a pop up ad and made a purchase. I’ve ask them to cancel the order and after sending several emails, I’ve given up hope of ever receiving my money back!
My advice to anyone wanting to purchase from SoTrend is DONT. A scam company who will only rip you off.
Never buy anything from this site.
Never buy anything from this site.
I bought a product, received a well worn version of a food processor that didn't work.
Ordered a strimmer advertised on X on …Sotrends
Ordered a strimmer advertised on X on the 18th of October 2025. Today 10th November this has still not arrived. I have contacted this firm a number of times in regard to the missing item. Each time I am informed the item is in transit. I have finally accepted I have been scammed by this so-called firm I tend not to take this sort of thing lightly. So I would ask , how do I notify X that they are allowing a Scam Firm use their platform to cheat prospective purchasers .
Dogey sellers imbedded in new articles
Wanted to charge in USD Nowhere in the ad does it say USD I believed that it was a scam so opted out. Sent me an email to complete the order with instructions to reply to the email. My provider said it was an invalid email
Have l been scammed?
I ordered an item on 24/9/25 and l have not received the item a month later. I emailed them 3 weeks in from date of purchase and no response. Have l been scammed? If so not sure how to report??
Misleading advertisement and no customer support.
The product bought was advertised as fitting all strimmers........it does not!! Still seeking a refund but without success......£100 down the drain. Do not buy from this company......they know they are not providing the product or service stated but seem not to care.
Very misleading advertisement and…
Very misleading advertisement and website and product
Ordered a set of three tourmarelief socks off this website for $59 dollars with a 60% off discount. No where did it state that it was in USD which totalled $102NZD I was horrified when I saw the transaction come out of my account
Don’t be fooled by the ad that targets people with neuropathy (nerve damage)
That clams this product helps people with this condition you will only be disappointed.
Shipping was fast that’s the only positive thing I can say
The packaging looked like it came from temu then out came the socks that were thin as anything and weren’t warm at all
There was no compression provided to the feet and couldn’t even feel the special designed pressure point dots on the bottom of the socks.
The stitching for the toes was inside out
Such a rip off !! could have got these off temu for $2 if you were that desperate. In the rubbish they go.
A very EXPENSIVE LESSON LEARNED
Do you homework people
Deceptive advertising
Deceptive advertising. At no time do they state you will be charged in USD not even in the cart. $59 95 NZD103.
Disgraceful marketing.
BUYER BE WARNED.
Product was not worth the money.
Very disappointed all around.
This website is deceptive
This website is deceptive! in no way do they show on their prices that it's being charged in a different currency. Even when your in the cart there is still nothing to say your about to be charged a different currency to what you think your paying. THIS IS CALLED DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING.! I have sent an email straight after my purchase for a full refund of my 91.30$ I was suppose to be charged 59.95$. I stated I didn't want the item that I thought I was paying 59.95$ so I stated the order to be cancelled immediately.
Within hours of placing the order
Within hours of placing the order, I requested its cancellation when I became aware through a “pending” payment in my bank account that the price quoted in the product ad was in USD and not AUD,
It took 48 hours to receive a reply confirming that the price was in USD … not the purpose of my original email!
I sent a second email requesting cancellation of the order.
Again, 48 hours later I received a reply confirming that the order had been “sent” and advising that if I cancelled payment (too late, already processed by my bank) that the matter would be placed in the hands of their legal department!
Two days later, I received ANOTHER email advising that the order had been despatched.
Now, today, the package has been received. I wish to return the product for a refund, but there is no return address listed on the parcel OR on the website.
I have sent another email requesting a return address. The product has to be returned within seven days to be eligible for a refund! I will be interested to see if I am advised of the return address within this timeframe or if convenient delays will apply! Watch this space!
And, the product/s? 2 x portable (car) vacuum cleaners, each in a cello-sealed box measuring 23cm x 17cm x 7.5 cm! I’m fully intrigued as to how “big” and “powerful” these vacuums are!! The price? Two for USD99.95, translating to AUD153.70.
How duped do I feel?
Currency deception, beware
Advertised price in Australia was $59.95. It turned out to be American dollars...a deception which has been dealt with before, most notably Airbnb forced to refund for the same deception. Not contact from Sotrends to date.

Damaged product which was not packaged for international travel. As such I do not recommend buying anything from them nor will I be trading with them again.

I PURCHASED "ELECTRIC " KNIFE SHARPENER. HA HA!
NEEDS TO BE PLUGED INTO COMPUTER TO OPERATE.
TRUELY THIS IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER BOUGHT, IT DOES NOT SHARPEN IF ANYTHING IT RUINS YOUR KNIVES. DO NOT USE.
NO INDICATION THAT IT WOULD BE COSTED IN US DOLLARS, SO THIS USELESS SHODDY GADGET COST ME $98.00 !
NO RESPONSE TO MY REQUEST TO RETURN FOR REFUND.
Surudoi Knife Sharpener
I purchased the Surudoi Knife Sharpener, taken in by the slick advertising.
The product arrived in really poor packaging - well no packaging really except for the cardboard box it was in and that was damaged in post.
Product totally useless for sharpening. The sharpening wheel slows to a stop as soon as any pressure is put on it.
Very poor instructions with it.
no indication that dollar price was US dillars.
If you had a no star box that is what I would have chosen.
DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT
Ordered in April 2025 knives' sharpener…
Ordered in April 2025 knives' sharpener ($59,95) and not received (now is mid-July 2025).
Despite contacts by e-mail to customer service NO RESOLUTION!
???Whether the site is a SCAM!
$75AUD for high pressure hose…
$75AUD for high pressure hose attachment which does not work. Threw it in bin. This company is not selling a product which is fit for its purpose. I highly recommend you purchase Australian products & not from So Trend as they work in Brazil with China. A waste of money I now longer click onto an advertisement on my mobile.
Thank you.
Advertise their product costs in the…
Advertise their product costs in the currency they are selling them.I bought the 3 pairs of tourmaline socks at their discounted price of 59 95 but unknown to me this was I USA dollars which converted to 90.00 + NZ currency.Way over priced as you can by them anywhere else for couple $s a pair.
So beware.
I haven't even received the product I…
I haven't even received the product I paid over $100 NZ for, and I know it's not worth that. I suggest everyone who is unhappy does this: I googled SoTrends group LLC. You go to a blurb about the company. It is based in Orlando, Florida. Press the Contact button at the top. You are directed to one of those blank email forms, in French, but you can fill it out in English. Sujet = subject, votre message = your message, you get the drift. Let rip, don't hold back. Let them know what you think of their products and practices. Let's flood their inbox with vitriol, if nothing else.
That SOTRENDS are con artists of the worst kind.
I purchased two knife sharpeners for app $100 and the product is such crap I cant believe they would sell it. I wanted to return both items but they told me that the return time had expired. NEVER NEVER DEAL WITH
SOTRENDS. They are the most untrustworthy company
and no one should but from them. Garfield Blair New Zealand
