of late, they simply disappeared with (my, in this case)
money. they disappeared from the web, too, without dropping a line. no way to be in touch with them anymore. and of course they don't reply to any kind of message. simply, beyond belief

Sumkin Studio, formerly known as Soumkine, is a Parisian haven for exquisite handmade notebooks.

My black Sumkin Studio cover has been by my side for a year and only improved with time. Though I can no longer find ones with the old logo, I trust this leather cover will endure. If future sizes, like Travelers, emerge, Soumkine/Sumkin Studio will undoubtedly have my preference. A timeless blend of craftsmanship and quality. 5 stars.

Spent $155 in august for items not received. Was told they were on the way twice. While I understand the difficulties faced by small businesses it’s now January 2023 and still nothing but bounced back emails.

This company took my money in July 22 and STILL have not provided my goods. I requested a refund in September and STILL don't have one. I email every week but get nothing. Theo Soumkine is a THIEF. Beware. Do not order - you will be robbed.

Notebooks are beautiful, but im so disappointed with customer service, which is very unorganized - its a long story, but in general - they wont reply on your messages, also they sell notebooks that arent even printed yet, which means you pay veeery high price for shipping, and then because of printing you wait longer than you expected. Its UPS shipping so notebooks need to be shipped in 1-2 days, but after 2 weeks I still wait for them to ship my package.

I liked the story, the website and the idea of the products. However, more than a month delay for the delivery. Delivery still not sure. The cost of the delivery very high. Most certainly I will not order anymore

I don't speak French but I'm assuming you'd like to know why the high rating - you guys are always very responsive to any questions and always nice.

Great products ! Agendas are excellent, the paper gives a good result with fountain pens. High quality leather for the notebook covers.

I will not buy from this company after the terrible service I received. The service is beyond slow;, several of my emails were completely ignored, and when I tried to contact them via my account on their website they said I didn't exist. After six months I still had not received any information from Soumkine, regarding my order and they continued to ignore my emails.. I finally launched a complaint with Visa and a refund was processed. Very bad experience they have no regard for their customers.

Fantastic products, unbelievable quality and true love.

I used to love this company and buy Soumkine notebooks exclusively for several years. Then, the company went rapidly downhill. The shipping time for a notebook I ordered in April took 7 months! Unacceptable. This was NOT due to COVID issues. I live in London, England this company is located in Paris, France – there is no reason in the world for shipping to take that long. Another notebook took 5 months! Also, when I emailed the owner to ask what was going on, his reply was curt and snippy.

The notebooks are gorgeous but the production time is too long and for what you pay (around €32–38) you should have much better customer service.
He just released leather notebook covers for the insane price of €210–220! Nobody is going to buy just a leather cover for that price, especially when you have to wait months for your order. He also spends a lot of time on social media pushing out new notebooks and designs when he should spend time pushing out orders on time instead of having customers wait for months on end. His priorities are out of whack.

As a result of all this, I switched to Paper Republic (based in Austria). They ship everything within days (I waited a little over a week at most for my orders) and they are further away. Their leather covers are €60 and come with a free notebook. They have excellent quality and customer service. Soumkine just lost a long-time customer.

I used to love this company. I have been buying notebooks from them for several years. They are quite expensive, but high quality. This past year, though, the business has gone downhill. Shipping takes forever. I am currently waiting on an order I placed 6 weeks ago. I have sent multiple messages inquiring about the order, with no response.
