Southdown Duvets Reviews 

I am a total convert to wool duvets, and more specifically to Southdown wool duvets! I was sceptical I'd get used to the feel of it after my fluffy feather duvet, but I was pleasantly surprised by the loft. It does feel a little heavier, but in a way that's actually quite comforting.
Most importantly, the claims about wool being better for allergies and for temperature regulation have proven to be true. I have rhinitis, an allergy to dust mites, asthma, and get hot due to a sleep disorder, and I have seen a huge improvement in all these areas.
The personal touch from Jessica was also lovely - she is happy to answer any questions and advise; a service that feels particularly special in today's world.
This duvet is an investment, but it's one that's well worth making.

I have just bought my second wool duvet from Southdown Duvets and in my opinion, they are the best on the market and the service from Jessica the Duvet Lady is excellent. They are a bit more expensive than some other duvets on the market, but in my opinion they are well worth the extra and last a long time if you care for them properly. I bought my first one as I was having terrible night sweats - wool duvets are much better at temperature regulation than feather and down, and you don't get those pesky feathers poking through the cotton casing. And finally, the wool comes from British sheep sustainably and without cruelty. What's not to like. ❤️👍

Prompt helpful access to initial inquiry; cheerful and friendly response to questions; products sent on approval for no payment when I was uncertain as to which I needed; efficient despatch and delivery; and a very high quality WOOLLY MAMMOTH duvet now in use by me, a very grateful customer, most impressed by Jessica's business, and the warmth of her customer services as well as her duvets.

Most of my bedding is from Southdown so I knew that when Jessica introduced the snapsdown duvet cover it would be a safe buy. What a genius idea. It took less time to change the duvet cover than pulling a fitted sheet over the mattress.  And I wasn't in a sweaty, sweary mess afterwards.  Fridays just got calmer.

We ordered 4 duvet for all the family for Christmas. All of us love them and would never go back to feather/down/synthetic duvets. Southdown Duvets were the nicest, most helpful people to deal with I can not recommend them highly enough.

I cannot rate this company or their products highly enough. I ended up first with the lambkin light and now the ultralight duvet as well. I can use these either as a combination or on their own. Two together is quite heavy but that is fine for me. Jessica and Ann helped me sort myself out. Their communication and help was excellent as was the delivery.
Wool duvets are so good and have truly helped my overheating due to cancer treatment. I know they are not cheap but they are beautifully made and worth every penny. I'm so pleased that I invested in the duvets. I look forward to getting into bed and under my duvet!
I have not yet been brave enough to try a pillow but will certainly consider it at some point.

Excellent customer service, high-quality products. This is my third time I have shopped from Southdown Duvets and I could not be happier. The duvets are of high quality, very well constructed and I cannot help thinking they have a harmonizing effect on the nervous system, apart from the fact one is never sweaty under them whatever the season. The Border Leicester Throw is very soft and lush and it gives off a very pleasant dry warmth when wrapped around the body. It is hard to describe but the feeling of comfort is really so different from what a cotton or a synthetic throw would provide. It is great such products are available.

I had never heard of wool duvets so I telephoned and spoke with Jessica who answered all my questions and more. I ordered a Year Round Kingsize duvet. It is absolutely fabulous AND it doesn't move so no more pulling to get a bit more on my side. I am so happy with this that I have just ordered a second one but a tog down for a warmer person and no doubt will be ordering their lowest tog next summer.

Woolen duvets only came to my attention recently. As I've always had to use synthetic, due to a feather allergy, these intrigued me.

The duvet is marvelous, snuggly and just the right temperature. I also bought a duvet cover, which is great quality and fits perfectly.... very, very nice. The result is a wonderful, relaxing sleep every night.

Many years ago when living in France I bought a Woolley Mammoth duvet from Jessica; since arriving in Ireland it is on the bed year round so I decided I'd treat us all - myself and 3 cats - to a mattress topper and pillows. Wonderful and Jessica is as obliging and helpful as ever. Truly products that stand the test of time in the most delightful way.

Jessica makes it all so easy. If you are new to woollen bedding, she will give you the opportunity to try things out and she makes the process of returning or exchanging very easy and stress free!

This is the first time I have used woollen bedding. I love the weight of the duvet. It is not too heavy but it is not light and fluffy like down. It reminds me of my childhood, getting into a cosy bed made with blankets and sheets but without the hassle of having to make the bed. It is true what they say about how it seems to moderate the temperature. It feels just right!

The pillows are harder to get used to. Since I want to get away from down, and prefer natural products to synthetic, I have opted to have one woollen pillow and one feather pillow.

Jessica's customer care is second to none and she is such a lovely person. She is genuinely interested in everyone having a great sleep. We have had a chat over the phone to discuss the best choice in regards to the pillows and duvets. Jessica has suggested trying a few pillows and just send back whichever may not work. I have placed the order and has had a great sleep since. Personalised service, great quality products and quick delivery - a winning combination. I have to admit I was somewhat sceptical at 70 years old, that anything could improve my reduced sleep patterns.

How wrong I was. As soon as I snuggled under my Southdowns Duvet, I went out like a light for seven hours. I awoke with my airways clear and a pile of energy I thought had long departed.

If you do nothing else, get hold of a sheep wool duvet and give it a whirl.

Best buying experience, best duvet. It was a total pleasure dealing with real people at Southdown Duvets. Our duvet had to travel outside of the UK, the care and attention from Southdown Duvets to make sure our duvet arrived safely was, in all honestly, above and beyond what we come to expect these days. Our duvet arrived exactly as planned and timed. It is honestly without doubt the best duvet we have ever slept under. No more waking up clammy and hot-but-cold. Both of us sleeping soundly. Plus, we are proud and happy to own a duvet created with love from traceable sheep fleeces, and, everyone out there listen, not a single hint of a smell of wool. Nothing. Just purchased at 7.5 tog duvet and 600 g pillow from South Down Duvets. Really pleased with them. They are made to a high standard, and enabled me to have a comfortable and warm nights sleep. I am someone who can be prone to night sweats but this has not occurred at all with these products. I found that Jessica (owner) was patient, helpful and very willing to answer any questions that I had. The location of South Down Duvets is stunning and the sheep are located there, in luscious green pastures. I was concerned about good animal husbandry, and consideration of the environment in the production of this product. I felt reassured this is the case. Jessica presents as a caring and conscientious person who takes great care in all aspects of this product. It is possible to arrange a stay in accomodation there, which provides an opportunity to try out the different duvets/pillows and other bedding. Would highly recommend South Down Duvets.

I did quite a lot of research to find a cruelty free, naturally filled, duvet. Once I decided on wool I looked at what was available from UK sellers. I chose Southdown Duvets as I liked the fact they were using wool from their own sheep and from a special breed.

When I unpacked the duvet it was so light and thin I doubted it would ever keep us warm. I was very wrong. From day 1 we have loved it and found it comfortable and warm.

I plan on buying the mattress topper next followed by pillows.

I have had one of the duvets for a couple of years and absolutely love it.
Jessica was so helpful and sorted out my order so I could get one for my daughter for Christmas. Its great to have such high quality items alongside such excellent service.

Recently received mattress cover and more linen to add to the Southdown duvet and pillows, so now my wife and I are completely and blissfully cocooned in a super warm and comfy bed.

Brilliant! Sustainable duvets!! A beautiful wool padded duvet, and pillow. Both so gloriously comfortable.

It was quite by chance that I discovered Southdown Duvets. I phoned Jessica who runs the business and farm. She was so helpful and inspiring that I decided to go to see for myself and came away with a wonderful king size duvet and a pillow. No feathers that break down over time, no plastic fillings, just quiet, soft wool covered in fine cotton. Sleep has improved!

The down side, excuse the pun, is that I only bought one pillow to try out but my partner decided it was his, he liked it so much. So, I am about to buy another.

I have been singing the Southdown Duvets' praises to family and friends.

Really well worth getting in touch with Jessica and investing in many good sleeps ! No more counting sheep...
