Unprofessional, focused selling.
The initial call was misleading, offering solar panels for £100 upfront and then £49 a month. This may be possible for someone but was made out as if that was what I would be paying. Any questions I tried to ask were answered with the fact that the caller was only able to set up an appointment with a surveyor, but the surveyor would be able to answer all my questions. I had some concerns about my energy bill so set up an appointment. I specified that the person coming should have his ID ready, I suffered with anxiety and was careful who I let in. I was told I would receive an email with the persons name before the appointment. I didn’t get an email and the only ID was his drivers licence and a company fleece. He wasn’t a surveyor, he was a salesperson. He went through everything very thoroughly, walked round the outside of the house checking the roof, stuck his head in the loft and expressed concern over the type of insulation, butthen said it would be ok. I was told if I signed up that day I would pay £2000 less because they could guarantee the price on stock in the warehouse. However, if I took the 3 month option, ‘today’s price couldn’t be held. I said I couldn’t pay anything at present. Before I knew it I was signed up for panels, batteries and an inverter AND a 15 year loan. I asked for a couple of days to think about it before I signed but was told I would lose the price. If I signed up I always had my 14 days cooling off period.
2 days later I had a phone call asking if the contractors could come and do a check , they came 2 days after. Again, no ID, even worse, completely different fleeces, neither of them Sparkshome, and a plain white van.
I did use my rights under the cooling off period, on both the loan and the Solar setup. It all felt rushed. I felt my requests had been ignored. Everyone was very pleasant, no one was obviously pushy, although I was told the’surveyorl’ would be here an hour and he was here nearly 3. Mark, the salesman, said I could have a family member here if I wanted.
When I cancelled I said it was because of the length of the loan, which is true. I really didn’t want to have a loan, let alone for that long, but Ialso felt I had been hurried into making a decision and wasn’t really happy with the company’s lackadaisical attitude.

The “£100 upfront and £49 per month” figure mentioned in your initial call would have been a general illustration, not a guaranteed quote.
Secondly, we’re sorry to hear that you did not see the appointment confirmation email with the representative’s name before the visit. Our records show that the email was successfully sent and that you've opened other communications from us, though it’s possible it may have been overlooked among other messages. Providing this information is part of our standard procedure, as we always want customers to feel fully informed about who will be attending their property. The individual who visited was one of our trained energy consultants (sometimes referred to as a surveyor), responsible for assessing your property and discussing suitable system options — not an installer.
We also want to stress that our policy allows every customer a full 14-day cooling-off period, exactly as you used, with no penalties or pressure to proceed. While our representatives do share time-sensitive offers based on stock or manufacturer pricing, Spark customers should never feel rushed into signing as our other customers can validate.
Regarding the follow-up visit, we understand your concern about the team who attended. An appointment had been arranged by us at your request and accepted by you, the visit was carried out by Spark. While vehicles may not always carry Spark branding, any team arriving at a confirmed appointment is working on our behalf and follows our professional standards and procedures.
We appreciate that you found everyone polite and professional, and we’re truly sorry that the overall experience didn’t meet your expectations. Transparency and trust are extremely important to us, and we’ll be reviewing this case carefully to ensure future customers feel fully informed and comfortable at every step.

It all just happened like clockwork
It all just happened like clockwork once I had approved the quotation. No fuss, well communicated and finished in 6 hours or so. And that was in the rain too. Even the scaffolding will remain up for another week to ensure there are no leaks.

Smooth Installation and Outstanding Support
I recently had solar panels and a battery installed by Spark, and I’m very happy with the process. Everything was well-organised, transparent, and carried out exactly as planned.
Mark from Sales was patient and clear in explaining the benefits versus costs, which gave us confidence in our decision. The team was professional, responsive, and quick to address any concerns.
The scaffolding and installation teams did a fantastic job. The work was clean, neat, and efficient, making the whole process hassle-free.
Special thanks to Tom from the Operations Department, who was incredibly patient, supportive, and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with the installation.

Honesty and integrity
Speaking to Abdul was an experience of honesty that I have not heard for many years if ever. We were interested in the possibility of having solar panels. Having explained myself and my wife's age and are very low electricity consumption Abdul without hesitation made us aware that we are more than likely not to get a return in less than 20 years on our investment and of course he was right .That being i would highly recommend your company for there honesty and integrity. From start to finish, plenty of communication. No hard sell.
I was given no obligation quote with a call back on an agreed date, answered my questions before proceeding with the booking.
Onky a short wait for the installation date, the scaffolding came a few days before build. When the team came for installation, they were done in the day.
I had 14 panels on front and back, a battery and inverter fitted. Power was only turned off in my house for an hour.
The team were happy in their work, very productive, and happy to answer questions throughout.
After sales calls have also been received to check on our system and answer any questions we have, and I know if I call Spark,I will get a helpful, knowledgeable person on the other end of the phone.

I have almost daily calls from an…
I have almost daily calls from an automated service using my name and pretending to be a person. The automated service says it is Solar Discounts and asks a series of questions, waits for any response, then after the three questions puts me through to Spark Solar. The lady that took the call at Spark Solar new my full name and address when I was put through and said she knew nothing about Solar Discounts or this automated service. Solar Discounts use a different number each time, so although I block the number the calls keep coming through. When they called today they called on 0333 053 6115. I don't even want solar panels.

This can cause confusion and frustration, especially if you’re not looking for solar in the first place.

We found our experience with spark extremely fast, helpful and professional. We got our instillation date within a couple weeks and the team were able to get everything done within a day.
