I bought some very expensive onesies…

I bought some very expensive onesies for my autistic child 5 weeks ago.
Believing they would be worth the money, I couldn’t have been more wrong!
Zips fallen apart on 2 of them now.
A logo they have on the inside has also faded and peeled off horribly.
Only wish I checked these reviews first!
No refund as out of time apparently!
Hugely disappointing, wouldn’t even pay a fiver for these. Very shoddy

Just awful company to deal with.

Just awful company to deal with.
Clearly substituted what used to be a decent product, with shoddy, substandard material.
My autistic non verbal daughter has an awful rash on the back of her right sided shoulder, exactly where the transfer was - before it crumbled apart.
That was in just a few weeks worth of use, and she couldn’t even tell me what was wrong, just kept getting extremely disregulated and uncomfortable.

It’s left a scar in that exact area!!!

Feel awful and the company just don’t care, have absolutely no idea of providing a half decent customer service or even acknowledging issues.
DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY A PENNY OF YOUR MONEY!!!!
DISGUSTING.. the 2.5 stars on trust pilot tell you everything you need to know about them!!

The onsies cut my sons back

The onsies cut my sons back. I am so disappointed and angry. The labelling they add to the inside of the clothing after some time becomes hard and crusty with sharp bits that I had no idea was cutting into the skin on my non verbal autistic sons back. For weeks I was saying he’s changed and he’s so upset at home meltdowns and I thought it was stomach issues even taking him to doctors. And then I noticed how during his meltdowns he kept taking his right arm out of his onsie and then it clicked - is it the clothes? I turned it inside out and the label had crusted up inside and was sharp to the touch and his back was cut up around the area. I am so upset that a company that advocates for sensory clothing is out there selling these clothes to children that in so many cases aren’t verbal and I’m sure are in the same situation. I contacted the company with no response to my email and have sent further follow up still waiting. And all the zips had started breaking on these onesies anyway. For the price you are paying the quality is appalling and in fact would have put anyone in distress wearing it let alone a sensory heightened child! I purchased from this company before 2-3 other orders with no issue but this last batch of clothing they have certainly changed how they are applying labels and zips because I buy a lot of onsies and every single one had same issue. I am yet to hear any acknowledgment of the issue and a resolve in place to ensure they are not selling this clothing with that inner label and they are improving the zip or going back to what they used previously. I would say BEWARE and check your clothing, they cannot guarantee sensory clothing it is very much a hazard in its current state. I just wanted to share this and hope more children out there are not in the same sad situation. Regardless I will not be purchasing from this company again but still hope they will acknowledge a change in how they are creating their clothing currently. I feel so sad to think of any other children out there going through what my poor son has been through with this. I’ve had to purchase all new onsies and he is so much happier, it’s like he knows I figured it out. I rubbed his hand over the label and I said sharp, and through it in the bin and he smiled. Absolute waste of money, please do check your items if you have already purchased from this company. I have photos and videos of his back and sound of label as you run finger over it, but can’t seem to post here. Will add if options comes up.

BEWARE

CAUTION WHEN ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY. They are charging for duty fees and tariff fees that are beyond the reasonable percentage amount. In fact items less than $800 are not subjected to duty fees. I bought 9 onesies for $350 including shipping and they charged me $193.95 in duty fees. It would make sense if the onesies were made with an extremely fine clothing material like silk or satin but they are made with cotton. The company wont provided me with the cost breakdown. BEWARE.

Found this company whilst looking for…

Found this company whilst looking for shoes for kids with additional needs. My son has struggled with lace up shoes and as his feet grow the choice of suitable shoes shrinks dramatically. I ordered a pair of Friendly Force trainers in Black and Lime green in the size he normally wears. They arrived today and my son has not had them off. He is amazed by the comfort and feel of them. I cannot recommend these shoes and SpecialKids.Company enough. We will certainly be using this company in the future.

Think twice

Whilst it’s great to have a company focus on the niche market of disabled clothing and accessories - when things go wrong it’s not so good. The whole niche of this market makes buying the right thing difficult. Under UK law any returns must be refunded with the full shipping cost (albeit the lowest priced service, not the one you paid for) refunded - these cowboys don’t refund that shipping cost however.

So buyer beware, not only will you pay a premium because these items have that keyword disabled in them, if the item isn’t what you expect - you’ll lose your shipping charge refund too.

Advice - go elsewhere or stick to the high street where you can legally try before you buy as specialkids.company seem to ignore the UK law on CRA 2015 and CCR 2013.

Buyer beware the specialkids.company

Buyer beware the specialkids.company
I have a son with feet that are two different sizes so
I purchased two pairs of billy shoes because of my sons odd size feet after having them three weeks the shoes broke at the zip sent them back to the retail stating that they are faulty, only to have the company blame my son for breaking them himself whom is disabled the manager in charge said my son had been kicking the area that was damage on something hard
And wasn’t willing to replace .only after I threatened them with bad press and legal action they finally sent an other pair .and admitted that there was a fault in their design and tried to flob me of with a different design which was not acceptable to me as the billy boot I chose was perfect for my sons needs.
I finally received a replacement for the damage pair after a very long wait .the new pair broke in the exact same place they lasted 4 weeks.the specialkids.company are aware of the problem with their billy boot but after looking on their website still sell the same product knowing that the product is not fit for purpose. So once again buyer beware
Specialkids company it would stand you in good stead in the future not to call your customers liars .
