"Cells constantly surprises me with little melodies that get created within the random intervals, often inspiring new melodies that I then take over to other instruments." – Ólafur Arnalds Moving beyond the realm of a typical sample library, Cells is our latest collaboration with Ólafur Arnalds, one of Iceland’s foremost musicians, with a career spanning over a decade as a recording artist, live performer, and composer. Ólafur has received 3 GRAMMY nominations over his career, also winning a BAFTA for Best Original Music for the series "Broadchurch" and receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for "Defending Jacob." Cells is a collaborative tool that enables composers and producers to harness the power of a string orchestra and get the feeling of players responding as if they are in the same room as the composer. In addition there is a toolkit of vintage analogue synths with a variety of signal paths created and performed by Ólafur to embrace this same collaborative power.

Is ok, sounds very good, but not that much possibilities as the promo's make believe...

Fantastic product, but what’s so good about it is that it’s the spitfire engine which is so simple & user friendly, the olafur toolbox uses kontact which is class, but spitfire engine is so much better!

Not only an incredible library of sound, but the machine is incredible with easy to modulate and customize your specific sound.

Ólafur Arnalds' 'Cells' in collaboration with Spitfire Audio is an absolute triumph. The sound quality is pristine and deeply evocative, offering a rich sonic palette that sits beautifully within both intimate tracks and complex harmonic arrangements. Beyond the incredible sonics, the user interface is visually stunning and highly intuitive, making the creative workflow feel seamless rather than a technical hurdle. The sheer potential packed into this library for layering and texturing is massive. Huge kudos to Ólafur and the Spitfire development team for crafting such a remarkably inspiring and brilliantly executed tool.

One of the best Spitfire releases during last year! The strings sound glorious.

This is really an instrument imagined by and designed for musicians. Each program deserves some experimentation, and invites to exploration. A wonderful atmospheric addon for any composer inspired by cinematic scores.

Excellent library of useable sounds, with a subtle ethereal quality you would expect from SA and Olafur Arnold’s. The expressions and key switches are subtle and flowing throughout the library so digging into some clever midi switching options and curating your own patches, will probably be the way forward to get the most rewards.

Wonderful product, Beautiful strings that inspire and add character to boring chord progressions. I absolutely love this product and think I'll be using it for a long time, but there is one issue that I'm hoping gets addressed. DAW used - Luna. If I record to MIDI and close the session later to come back and continue working the software seems to randomly play all sorts of notes not originally in the progression played (including notes not in key). There is an easy work around - say you're using the clouds selection in full band, select any other, say octaves or motion, etc. and then re-select clouds the previously played music goes back to what it was before. Like it needs a reset. Other than that, I really can't get over how beautiful the strings in this library sound!

The sounds are amazing and beautiful, it is really easy to create new and creative ideas with this library

The plugin has epic textures of high quality. They are impressive. The mood is full of colors, the presence of synthesis complements the richness and possibilities of mood colors. The sound that you will not hear anywhere else is different, beautiful, cold, melancholic. But what I would criticize is the very small letters. I can barely read the inscriptions on my 32inch, so if the monitor is small and more than 0.5 diopters🤓 you have a problem. The plugin is not NKS, which is a huge shame, I would welcome an upgrade in the future… This plugin is very nice to work with and you get a musical color that is different. Its price is not low, however… I still recommend buying it and Spitfire I recommend upgrading to NKS

Wow. Don't know how Olafur and Spitfire do this, but I wasn't expecting this to be as deep and multi layered as the other parts of the toolkit I have. But nope, this is up there with the other parts of Olafur's work. I always have people ask me what I'm playing when I include this in a performance - the can't get over how real yet unusual it sounds.

Quality. The atmosphere that these sounds evoke is amazing. The tools and motions are quite addictive!

This library is truly exceptional, another outstanding product from Spitfire after a long wait. It’s incredibly inspiring and perfect for crafting your own musical journey. In future updates, I’d suggest including some short articulations to make it even more versatile. The pad sounds are absolutely beautiful, I highly recommend it!

Listening to the chords he played, the main melody just came to my mind on its own.
