Awful customer services. My product arrived non functional. Nearly three months later and daily email chases at times I've still not got a replacement/exchange.

They don't reply to emails or there is a long long delay in replies upon which they do not do what they promise (promised replacement to be sent in August, then September, then ignore my polite chases.

There appears a common theme here in these reviews and if I'd have known this then I wouldn't have purchased.

YouTubers who demonstrate these products should make viewers aware of the poor reputation of companies like this so that buyers can make informed decisions.

I've raised a Section 75 credit card dispute to reclaim my money back.

I bought the Square off Grand Kingdom set. No pieces were in the box. I contacted them and was advised via chat that an agent would get back to me. I did this 6 times to no avail so bought pieces on eBay. The set is great however the service is beyond bad its non existent.

At squareoffnow.com I bought a set of wooden pieces and a leather bag for my board. This was in July 2023. In August 2023 I sent an email to ask why it was taking so long, in response they told me that the estimated shipping date is November 2023 and in case of any problem, they will give me another shipping date. Do not buy from squareoffnow.com

Terrible aftercare. They say that my complaint (broken chessboard - 500 euro) will be sent to the right department, but i’m not hearing anything. I did pay too much for this terrible “service”.

Scam company, they take your money and never deliver the product, My self and 42 others are currently formulating a class action lawsuit against this scam company

No response from customer support after several chats on the website. They keep telling me they will escalate, and I am still waiting for a reply. Started over 40 days ago.

My boards arrived. Nicely packaged. I like the pieces. The lights are nice.

Problems:
Both boards have air bubbles underneath so the board will not lay flat. Still playable, but not ideal.
I may try to extract the air with a syringe to see if that helps.

One board's lights on the 2nd line stopped working.

I addressed both of these issues in their chat and via email. No response via email.

I want a solution to the bubbles and a replacement of the board with faulty lights. But my expectations are low that either of these will happen :(

Board just never arrived. Messaged constantly and got fobbed off with “we have shipped it” then told “it will ship soon”.

Never received any shipping details other than delivery date (no tracking) and the delivery date just came and went.

Customer service is appalling.

Just a terrible scam company

Quick and thorough customer service on recent connectivity issues with my Grand Kingdom!

I bought 3 Neo chessboards for Christmas gifts in 2021. I still haven't received them. I've tried many times over the past 1 or 2 years to ask when I will receive them, and they told me it would be about 3 months later... the last time they told me it would be July 2023... nothing. What I can say is that they took my money immediately. A really bad company. There are many other reputable chessboard options. Just go elsewhere.

My chessboard came like promised, and it does what I want it to do. I also ordered the software upgrade, but decided there was no need for me. The guaranteed refund promise for that software was kept as promised, friendly and prompt. I am still happily playing with the chessboard. Thanks.

Zero customer service, claims not to be a chat bot on chat is absolutely a chat bot. Ordered saturday evening read reviews and decided to cancel sunday morning. Contacted chat "We cant cancel from chat please email with proof of purchase and they will get back to you 48 hrs later" 18 chats 3 emails a facebook conversation a passed delivery date (despite having been advised on the sunday it had been shipped so could not be cancelled) I have no tracking details, no email responses, no cancelation, one chat saying it has been dispatched one saying it has not. No product and a £350 hole in my credit card with nothing to show for it. Avoid them like the plague do not ever purchase from this company. From the reviews the products are unreliable, the chances of getting the product when expected are about zero and if you want to cancel or return expect a very long period of being out of pocket.

Ordered a chessboard, all looked good, given an expected delivery date but not tracking information but was told this can take 3 days to update. Fair enough I thought, that seems reasonable, how wrong was I, Tracking information has never been updated, expected delivery date has way gone. The online chat is useless, all they tell you is somebody will get back to you with the highest priority, nobody ever does, I wasn’t even bothered if it was a little late as long as I knew. But reading reviews I’m not sure I even want the product apart from the fact that it is gift for somebody who actually requested it. So if anybody from square off read these reviews, when will my item be delivered and how can I talk to somebody who actually knows what’s going on.

I ordered a chess board in November 2022 which was supposed to be delivered in April 2023. I recieved an email in March saying that it had been delayed and that they would send me another update "very soon". Instead I received no communication until I emailed them in June asking for an update. Be replied and said that it should be delivered in August 2023. August came and went and i sent an email asking for another update. Instead of a reply, I received an email stating that my trouble ticket had been closed. So now it is the middle of September and I still don't have my board. After a little research, I discovered that this company has a terrible reputation (I guess I should have researched it BEFORE I bought the chess board!) and that the internet is full of stories like mine. What an expensive lesson!

SquareOff Pro received. Will not lay flat. Air bubbles at the rear of the board lead to a wavy surface and chess pieces sliding of their squares / at angles. Unusable as is. Raised with Square Off, ticket created (was classified by Square Off as "Low" priority). After a month of chaser e-mails, e-mail received saying Ticket closed. I would like a replacement / refund, but not clear at this point whether warranty will be honoured. Really disappointing product and service.

Reasonably good board, cheap pieces (supposedly weighted), already showing wear and tear less than a week in. Terrible app with basic functionality (i.e. recording face to face games) hidden behind a paywall

Surprisingly bad. The board doesn't seem to work at all. however you can connect on bluetooth and get a simple beep when you move a piece but nothing more.
The app requires further logins to chess.com which I was unable to do.

I have the square off Swap . When it works , , every other game it’s a great experience. Break downs in the middle of a game are frustrating to say the least. I have emailed many many times. Since July Finally said they would replace my board , with no instructions on how to do so . I keep emailing several times a week. There is no phone number to speak to management . My recommendation is to stay away from this company until they stand behind their products… If ever

Worst company I have ever had to deal with.

Still no board.

Disgraceful customer service! After receiving a faulty Neo board, I emailed Square off with a video of the issue. They replied promptly, asking for a video of the issue. So I replied with another video. That was 11 days ago. After chasing this up a number of times, I still have no advice for what to do with my expensive, unusable product.
