This company is the best of the best for Credit Card / ACH processing. The customer service has been very impressive. I talked with a Mariely, Customer Support Agent today that helped me right along. So far, she has given the best Customer Support I've received, inclusive of a couple of Managers I've talked with in the past. This company has gone thru some growing pains but appears to be forging forward professionally and successfully. I would recommend Stax to anyone that is looking for a fair priced awesome Customer Service Merchant Service company.

We have been with Stax for 2 years now. Monthly Fee went from 199.00/mo the first year to 280.00/mo for 2 months and now 499.00/mo. If you need to talk to someone - its a 3 day min wait and you can only email them. No Phone help, No representatives, equipment problem - 2 weeks to get someone to call you... Actually still waiting for a response from 02-25-25 and today is 03-14-2025. Dejavoo equipment is the worst - not user friendly and you cant see if a previous transaction went through.

BEWARE of Stax Payments! CardX & Forte!
BEWARE of misleading promises! After several conversations and lengthy application process I changed from my tried and true ACH / credit card processor to save a little each month with Stax. As a home improvement service provider we have high dollar transactions. Stax approved us $60K per transaction. We made the switch. As soon as I started sharing the ACH link, my customers were getting failed transactions notices. They were frustrated. I was frustrated. Stax took 10 days to respond to my inquiries as to the cause. Meanwhile, I reverted to my former processor to continue collecting revenue. Long story short, Stax's partner Forte had only given us a $12K transaction limit, and we weren't informed. I immediately requested a cancellation of service and refund of my $400 monthly processing fee. Instead of refunding me, they ignored my request and charged me for the following month of service too. The support team has been unresponsive and the service an aggravation to set up and cancel. If you want to save yourself the headache, stick with or switch over to QBO processing. Yes, it's more. But it's worth it.

[UPDATE - March 2026] I am updating this review again, and unfortunately, dropping the rating back down to 1 star. After my previous review, management reached out, acknowledged the billing discrepancy, and we agreed to a clear fee increase structure to resolve my initial complaint. However, Stax did not honor the spirit of that agreement. They quietly slipped a new "PCI fee" onto every subsequent statement—a recurring charge that was never discussed or consented to during our negotiations.
Now, a year later, they attempted to hike the membership fee once again. When I contested this, a Level III Support representative admitted in writing that this latest increase was a mistake and promised the finance team would correct my account. Despite that written guarantee, I was still charged the higher rate today. When I replied to that same email thread to demand a refund, I received an automated message stating my ticket was "closed" and I was instructed to start completely over by opening a new ticket.
They make promises just to get you to change your Trustpilot review, then go right back to their deceptive billing practices. As a business owner, I do not have the time to audit every statement for hidden fees or jump through administrative hoops every time they make a "mistake."
I am updating this review. Malik from support reached out and was very helpful in resolving the issue. They acknowledged the lack of transparency and the insufficient notice regarding the price adjustment, and were willing to review the account and come up with a reasonable solution
I’ve been a loyal customer of Stax for several years, but unfortunately, my experience has gone downhill due to their constant price increases. They lure you in with a competitive rate at the start, but over time, they continuously hike up the fees—sometimes by as much as 50% in a single year!
At first, I was happy with the service, but every year, without fail, they find new ways to add extra charges and increase monthly fees. It’s frustrating because loyalty means nothing to them—whether you’ve been with them for years or just signed up, they will keep raising costs with little to no explanation.
What started as a cost-effective solution has now turned into an overpriced and ever-growing expense. If you’re considering Stax, be prepared for an endless cycle of fee hikes. There are better options out there that won’t penalize you for being a long-term customer.

We opened a support ticket yesterday morning when we lost the ability to process payments. We are now well past 24 hours in what is our busiest business month and the issue is still not resolved. I have called, emailed, elevated the ticket, reached out on linked in, and now our trust pilot reviews are impacted directly citing the inability to take a payment. I am so unhappy.
