Good to know
We understand that passengers come with luggage, so we won’t charge you any extra for yours. Car passengers can bring as much as they can fit into their vehicles. And foot passengers can bring as much as they can carry, so long as no single piece of luggage is over 23kg in weight. That makes packing a whole lot easier!

Easy to book. Only problem we encountered was at Holyhead where there were no staff at the exit.
Service doesn’t get much better.
My friend and I were returning from a motorbike trip to Norway on the Hoek Van Holland - Harwich Crossing, when his rear wheel bearing collapsed 10 miles before getting to the port. After a lot of brainstorming and asking truck drivers for a lift, we asked at the help desk if the engineers on board might be able to help. They found the correct bearings in their stores and helped us carry out the repair (which took 3 hours!!) My friend returned home safe the same night which wouldn’t have been possible without their help and a lot of luck!
We found the layout of the passenger areas confusing, where was there to sit if you didn't want to be eating? It was often difficult to work out where particular public areas were, in spite of signs pointing general directions. The journey was broadly fine and nearly on time. We looked for information in advance about booking meals but could find little. We use Stena line from Harwich to Hoek van Holland often and find these ships much easier to navigate and user-friendly.
We, usually end up having to have the cabin by the door to the bar, which is horendously noisy. However, this time we were given the 2nd cabin in from the door, which was quieter. We booked a pet cabin & were very disapointed. Expensive & very poor upto what is offered with the Liverpool Belfast route. While other pet owners marched around the ship with their dog, we were told they had to be kept in the cabin at all times. The cabin, was extremely hot & uncomfortable for the dog. Also, there was not a dog bed provided, as expected. Also, the toilets did not flush in the cabins. Yet, despite little regard for the inconvenience at reception, it did not take too long for staff to put this right. Otherwise, although it was thick fog it was a comfortable sailing.
Easy boarding and exit from the ship food could have been better.
I could not understand that despite having an e ticket I had to check in rather than just having it scanned. This creates unnecessary queues.
Also at check in ticket is not checked, your name is asked and paper ticket given.
As smooth as it could be. Cabin was clean and cool. Shower was good and staff were friendly and professional.
Well managed loading experience. Comfortable and clean ship. Polite and friendly staff. Good catering facilities and food.
There was no dedicated seating lounge for passengers other than around bars and cafe/restaurant.
Stena ships offer all the comfort you are need for a great crossing.
We had a great sailing to & from Ireland.
Staff were very friendly & helpful.
Check in was easy.
From booking in to disembarking staff went above and beyond to ensure that my mum and myself were comfortable and able to access all the facilities due to our mobility struggles
Just returned from my Stena Line trip to Belfast, and it was a fantastic experience! The ferry was clean, comfortable, and well-organised, with friendly staff who made the journey enjoyable. The views across the Irish Sea were beautiful, and the crossing was smooth and relaxing. A great way to travel between Liverpool and Belfast. Highly recommended!
Could not book Stena plus lounge on line - asked when I got on at customer services - told it was fully booked with no seats available - explained my colleague was in and I wanted to join him but told no its totally full - he let me in to pick up something and there was about 20-30 spare seats at quick count - table next to him was empty as was the seat at his table .
We had a very positive experience with this ferry crossing. The check-in process was quick and smooth, making the start of the journey hassle-free. The ferry itself had good facilities and was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Parking costs were also very reasonable, which was a welcome bonus. Most importantly, all staff we encountered were professional, friendly, and polite throughout the trip. Overall, an excellent service and a pleasant travel experience.
