Bromley Branch Bonkers

Bromley Branch Bonkers

Booked the car in for a recall check on the EGR cooler. They called back in a couple of hours saying check was done.

Car came back, but discovered a new fault - turbo was not kicking in! Called them, they said to bring it in, but would charge £200 for diagnostics! I explained, the problem happened AFTER they had the car, all they could say was that they can't verify, but after checking diagnostics, if it's a fault that they caused they would refund me the cost and repair the problem.

I couldn't accept the risk and especially after the attitude given by the manager Rhys, I felt compelled to contact BMW Customer Services.

They went back and forth and to be honest, I came away feeling utterly let down by both SJB and BMW.

BMW REALLY NEED TO UP THEIR GAME AND KEEP TABS ON THESE DODGY COWBOY DEALERS!!!

SJB obviously doesn't care about their customers, going by the high number of negative reviews. Otherwise, they would at least respond to the complaints and try and resolve them.

I wish I had checked the reviews on here before I took the car to them, would have saved me a whole lot of bother.

Seriously people, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO SJB if you want it returned in the same working condition!

Dreadful experience

A simple rear lamp replacement covered under warranty which should have taken a maximum of thirty minutes resulted in an almost six month ordeal. A Stephen James technician used an electric ratchet that subsequently caused the bolt to sheer off the body of the vehicle. An attempt was made to conceal the damage by spot welding the vehicle which was barely two years old. The customer’s authorisation was not sought for this works to be completed. Further damage was caused to the quarter panel and rear bumper.

A Stephen James employee used the vehicle for personal errands (photographic & GPS evidence to show) and when an enquiry was made as to why, an untruthful rationale about responding to a personal phone call was given. Multiple conflicting and dishonest excuses were given by several members of staff in an attempt to justify the vehicle being driven without due reason.

Collection of the vehicle was rejected on more than five occasions due to the poor workmanship which had all passed the Stephen James quality control stage with no employee identifying the obvious failures. One of the faults being gaps on the panel so big you could fit an Iphone in between. Another fault was a water leak arose four days after collecting the vehicle.

A complaint was lodged which was not responded to in compliance with company policy.

If you would like to receive sub-standard levels of customer services, company employees joy riding your vehicle, attempted displaced blame for multiple damages caused to vehicles on company premises (despite video evidence to the contrary) and most importantly being deprived of your vehicle for un-excusable periods of time, this is the place to use

Unacceptable

Booked a service for 05/04/21 8:00 at Stephen James Enfield, arrived and waited till 8:15 and the service department was shut. Called the service department and showroom multiple times. Being a Key worker this was one of my first day off work, which ended up being wasted. Woke up at 7 and arranged to be picked up by a friend from the service centre. What a waste of time.

Happy to rip you off

My bmw was due a factory recall and this branch lied to me saying they could not give me a courtesy car without charging me £20 a day . I had to phone bmw head office to get them to convince Stephen JAMES to honour BMW’s promise . Whilst the car was there, I was offered a service which was almost due and they tried to charge my £700 for 4 filters and an oil change when the prices is £329 on their website. Says it all really. Nobody apologised and every person I spoke to seemed to think it was acceptable le behaviour . The customer service manager even said they overcharge people as they are within the M25. Make sure you check prices online before going there as they’ve been told to rip you off by their so called managers.

Am unable to leave a review on a google…

Am unable to leave a review on a google for some reason. Car needed to be taken in for recall work to be done, wasn’t able to be provided a courtesy car for up to a month after it was booked even though I explained that I can’t be left without a car during a pandemic, had to take time off work even though the recall was no fault of mine. When I collected the car it was covered in white cream and no one had bothered to clean it off.

I had a drive train error on my BMW X6…

I had a drive train error on my BMW X6 on a 2017 model. My car is a 2017 model and had recently run out of the dealership warranty. I told the car for the full service and then had to pay 200.00 for a diagnostic. They told me that they found that the turbo actuators have failed . I was a little upset as I have only done just over 25k from new.stephen James wnet back to BMW and as a good will gesture the part was paid for but I had to pay for the labour costs which was just over 200.00. The car was repaired and I collected the car. On the way home the fault popped up again. I contacted Stephen James and spoke to Dean who could not appologise enough. They picked the car up from my house and carried out another diagnostic. Again the fault showed the turbo acuaters which have just been replaced . Again the could not appologise enough and kept the car a few days and found out that the turbos on the vehicle were defective.Thr both turbos were replaced.stephen James have refunded me the original diagnostic cost and the cost of the labour and have replaced both turbos free of charge.
I can't thank you enough for your help in this matter and can't praise Dean enough for his help in this.
Stephen James thank you again

Beyond disappointed

Beyond disappointed. How can BMW not be able to fix a small problem that my local garage can? A simple squeaking noise when steering. I was told twice by BMW Stephen James that they cant fault the noise! What does that mean? I want you to get rid of the noise not tell me that you cant find any fault with the noise. This is the second 2 series BMW i have owned with the same issue. I have had 5 BMW in 14 years of driving. I have been an unofficial brand ambassador for BMW however Stephen James have tried their best to ruin this experience. Never again.

Awful customer service and after sale care

Signed a PCP G20 3 series in 2019 at Stephen James Enfield. Within a year of ownership I had to send the car in for two repairs. 1st one being headlamp water condensation and HUD failure; 2nd time for a BMW track rod safety recall. Stephen James Enfield was unhelpful and reluctant to offer any goodwill gesture as in arranging the car to be collected and dropped off. Their price for the PCP is also high compare with other dealership on the BMW website.
I'd advice anyone to use the BMW official website to check for better price elsewhere and check for reviews of the actual dealership carefully before making any purchases.

Alloy Repairs - Enfield

I took my car to Stephen James Enfield to have my Alloys refurbished.

The staff were very professional and helpful.

The Alloys were refurbished to a very high standard and I was kept informed of their progress.

I would highly recommend them.
