The Oxbridge Formula offers detailed…

The Oxbridge Formula offers detailed and thorough preparation for entry exams at Oxbridge. The earlier you sign up, the better it is for you. It's resources are exquisite: past papers with detailed solutions, courses, subjects and interview. The explanations are second to none. There is clear evidence that the tutors are highly motivated and qualified. Ater attending this course, i feel much more prepared psychologically and academically for the ENGAA.

An excellent course

An excellent course. The tutors were very helpful and were willing to listen and answer questions right as they were asked. Their explanations of complex physics and math topics made them easy to understand and remember. I feel much more confident for the ENGAA, having taken this course

I found the course engaging and the tutors amazing at explaining difficult questions in a concise and easy to understand manner. Participating in the course allowed me to develop and practice time-saving tricks as well as finding easier methods to answer questions. I also benefited from doing mock papers as there is very little content available to practice and the question style of their mock papers is very similar and it challenges and stretches you.

Fantastic preparation for the NSAA

Fantastic preparation for the NSAA, the tutors were very helpful and although the content was hard, it is great preparation for the real exam. I definitely feel that I will do better in the NSAA now. The mock papers are excellent timed practice and I learnt useful tips when going through the work booklet with the tutors and the group.

My son found the course extremely helpful and enjoyable. The Tutors have provided a broad range of complex, customised questions that have given him added confidence in preparing for this year’s upcoming PAT Test.
Thank you.

I attended the Oxbridge Formula summer school and I loved it so I came back and did the PAT preparation course. I found both not just really helpful in terms of improving my problem-solving, but really fun and motivating to do more physics.

Very engaging and informative

The course content included doing a question on your own for about 2 minutes and then discussing it with a tutor (groups of around 6 pupils per tutor). Then we would switch to the main zoom sessions to join the other groups to see an overview of the solution. The tutors were very knowledgeable and friendly. The use of nearpod allowed the course to be more interactive than any other typical course.
I would recommend it because the course itself is very engaging and allows you to learn tips, not only from the tutors but also from other students during discussion.

Information

The course has been very useful. It gives you skills thats you can apply to different types of questions. The tutors were very knowledgeable and friendly. The techonology worked well and allowed easy communication (priavately or not) with the tutors. I would definitely recommend this course.

PAT Problem Solving

The course was very educational and inclusive - helpful for all levels of physicists. It’s hard to achieve the level of closeness needed in a course like this over zoom, but this course did so very well, with breakout rooms and discussions proving very useful.

CTMUA Paper 2

The course covered all of the required content and went into detail to ensure everyone understood the logic behind the solutions, and could solve the questions themselves. The tutors were very friendly and the teaching was often personalised since we would solve questions in small groups. I would definitely recommend this course, as it covered all of the required content for the CTMUA paper 2, which isn't normally covered in school, and also expanded upon that which is.

Review

I definitely learnt a lot of information from the course especially from day 1. I have learnt lots of the terminology and new content I would not have learnt in school. Lots of content we went over I had never seen before so it was a bit difficult to pick it up as we were going quite fast (although i know this was necessary due to the content that had to be covered). I find the booklet a great resource, I will use it in my own time to go over the notes I made and to understand some parts which i found trickier. I think it will be great for revision before the exam. The tutors clearly know the course inside out and have lots of helpful advice on how to answer questions and what to look out for. The tutor who lead my group (Jack) was very friendly and helpful when explaining possible answers to the questions. Considering the inconvenience of having to do the course on Zoom, I think the technology used was very organised and thought out. The online whiteboard was useful to see how Chris went through the answer and made it easy to write down notes. In some ways this felt better than it would at an in person course. I would reccomend the course and the tutors to someone interested in applying to Cambridge as i think it really helped bridge the gap between what you learn at A level and what you need to do for paper 2

Enjoyable!

I really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot. All the tutors were extremely friendly and if we had any queries took the time to answer them. They all had different takes on concepts so it was interesting to learn something from each of them. I enjoyed going through the questions in a smaller group then rejoining the larger group as there were different methods used to get the answer. I would recommend this course as this is a particularly hard topic on the TMUA that there are very little other resources available for and I believe this has helped me.

CTMUA Zoom Course

I am thoroughly impressed with the course. It has been very informative, with some excellent teaching and interactivity with the tutors, who are knowledgable and very patient. This Paper 2 course has solidified some concepts for me that I only had a passing understanding of beforehand, and the fact that I am able to participate with other students online in a classroom-esque setting was very helpful. I strongly recommend it.

Very helpful and informative course.

The course has been really helpful to give an understanding to topics that may not have been covered in A Level Maths. Great level of interactivity and support available throughout. Tutors have been excellent and really helpful. Totally recommend this course :)

I would recommend it because the tutors are quite knowledgeable and there are extra similar questions to the ones likely to appear on the actual test. The course content is helpful for my exam, and the best thing about the course were the smaller groups we could discuss concepts in.

Daughter really enjoyed it

Signed my daughter up for a three day Zoom course (per social distancing!) and, when it was done, she asked if I could book her on the next one.

That's all the review it requires I think.

If it provides skills but, more important, confidence to negotiate this incredibly difficult route to Oxbridge, then it's worth it if you can afford it to give your child a good start.

Really "cool".

My son said it was really "cool".He especially appreciated the clarity of the explanations. As we live abroad, with a different education system, we were afraid he would have difficulties when understanding the solutions and generally when it came to the format of the problems and the concepts used. Fortunately it was not the case. He learned to approach the exercises differently, to look for clues and to understand the thinking process required in order to solve this kind of questions. The teachers were very good, providing clear explanations and enganging with the students. As a parent I am happy that he considers that the course was useful and learnt a lot from it. Money and time well spent!
