We have been coming to St Ives regularly for years, both in the summer and out-of-season.

We have booked summer holidays twice through St Ives holidays.

On both occasions, the properties have been tired and filthy and, despite making numerous representations to the company, we have ended up cleaning them ourselves - not what you want to do on holiday.

Given that the cost of these properties has been several thousand pounds per week, we believe we should have been entitled to a basic standard of hygiene and customer service.

I would not use this company again. Do not be fooled by the attractive looking pictures on the website nor by the efficiency with which they allow you to pay a large deposit up-front for your stay. Once they have your money, you will be left fighting for even the most elementary standard of cleanliness and customer service.

We have rented through other companies in St Ives, notably Aspects, where the standards of customer service and property cleaning are much higher, so we know these services can be provided to an acceptable standard in St Ives.

On both occasions, St Ives holidays refused to inspect the properties we rented and insisted we spend a day of our holiday photographing and writing up all the faults and sending our fact-finding audit to them by email - to which, you guessed it, they did not even have the courtesy to reply.

This company is giving St Ives a bad name, it is giving the holiday lettings industry a bad name and, worst of all, it is badly letting down both its customers and the owners who trust St Ives Holidays to manage their properties for them.

We had an amazing stay in Saint Ives this August and enjoyed amazing weather with a lovely apartment at the Harts top flat above the beach CAFE on St Ives harbour. It was worth every penny with fabulous views and a really comfortable apartment that gave you everything other than washing machine. Exceptionally clean so brilliantly located with amazing views for easy access to all of the amazing beaches of St Ives.
By the way st Ives beach CAFE near the sloop inn is amazingly fresh sandwiches and Paninis and coffee and we only really discovered it two days before we left but the team in the store are fantastic and the food was amazingly fresh so much so that I ordered sandwiches to take home on a long journey on the train on the way home.

Terrible customer service
In May 2022 I booked a house to rent for Christmas 24th December - 31st December 2022
I was called to ask if we could change the dates which was impossible due to work commitments
I was then asked to reduce my stay to 5 days as somebody wanted to rent for 30th December -7th January
I then asked to extend our holiday which I was told would be fine, the next day I was told we could only rent the property for 2 weeks which isn't possible as it would cost £6000 and I have to return to work
The customer service at this company is terrible, no one offered to help with alternative properties (I had to ask) We have now no property to go to at xmas its ruined our holiday as its getting so late and we and not find any suitable properties.
The customer service at this company is shocking
They allow the owners to cancel holidays, if I had cancelled we would of lost a huge deposit but as they have we are not compensated or offered an alternative holiday

Worst customer service, dont ever book your holidays using this website.
The customer service Manager Sigoni who claims to be the service level manager was absolutely useless.

We absolutely loved st Ives,it’s so beautiful! I could definitely live there 😍 seascape apartment was really nice and views are priceless from living room windows of the beach 😎🏖 The apartment was excellently equipped with everything you need. My only negative,was of the stairs leading up to the apartment,they are quite steep and narrow. We did struggle getting our cases up to the apartment. It wouldn’t stop us staying there again,and probably take smaller cases as we now know it’s quite restricted going up. We did love it 😍

BEWARE!!!
Booked a cottage in St Ives months ago for 1 week in the summer holidays! Paid the deposit so all good.
Last week received an email telling us the cottage is no longer for rent and our holiday is cancelled!!!
But no problem they send we have sent a link to other options for the seem week.
We were asked to view the list of properties rebook.
I opened the link to find just 1 cottage on the list priced over £500 more than the previous.
What kind of customer service is this??
So currently looking at all the websites trying to find accommodation. Hardly anything available and with only a few weeks until the summer holidays the prices have shot up.
Absolutely zero help and assistance from St Ives holidays.

The apartment was very clean and well equipped, the beds were very comfy.

Just had a fabulous week in St Ives. Cottage was better than we thought, modern, clean and welcoming. Tucked away, private parking. Wonderful holiday, team were really helpful and I would recommend.

Very comfortable, warm and well equipped property centrally located in St Ives. Good warm shower and comfortable settees and bed. What was disappointing was the distance to the reserved parking, especially as there a much closer car park (Island Car Park), which also provides reserved parking facilities. As required, we arrived after 4pm, which by that time it was dark outside. Whilst I was parking the car in the reserved space, my wife unpacked our bags, but had to lay all our clothes out in the single bedroom. It was not until the second day that we found the wardrobe; so I would like to suggest that the cleaning staff leave the blind up so that the wardrobe is easily identified rather than it being thought of as an exterior window to the rear of the property. Whilst well equipped, the lighting in the property was inadequate making it difficult to read in the evening, and the cooker hood light did not work. In this day and age, it was somewhat disappointing that the television did not include HD channels or the streaming apps such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, My 5, More 4 etc. It would have been useful to have the facility to hang up outdoor coats near to the front door.

Booked a cottage in St Ives Cornwall through St Ives Holidays for week beginning 2nd Oct 21. On arrival cottage was disgusting with numerous faults. There was paint flaking off walls and plaster cracking and lifting due to damp, a badly rust pitted fridge, thick grease on cooker hood, badly stained carpet and marked walls, dirty musty furniture, food remnants between cooker and sink, a faulty door causing a risk in event of fire and general cleanliness issues with the oven and other appliances. Clearly no deep clean had been completed as advertised per covid guidelines by St Ives Holidays. Property so bad we didn't even stay for one night and had to find alternative accommodation. Complained to St Ives Holidays immediately who took two days to respond, a third day taken up checking property where they admitted cleanliness issues but refused refund. Despite numerous emails and requests to speak to a manager or someone in authority to discuss no one has had the decency to call. Still refuse to give refund by email but won't call. Attitude and response is disgusting. Will never use this company again or their parent company Original Cottages due to their attitude and the experience I have had. My advice is don't part with your hard earned money with this company unless you want to be disappointed and want a battle to get your money back!!!!

Booked last minute online with St Ives Holidays. Everything was so easy to do. I was kept up to date with the details and reminders by text on how to get the key etc. I called into the office on my last day to and received a nice friendly reception. The website is clear with lots of details about the properties. Really clean when I arrived. I will certainly book again with St Ives Holidays

Fantastic Weekend away in beautiful accommodation within beautiful surroundings.
The communication before, during and after the holiday was consistent and informative.

Have booked with Stivesholidays many times (they are now part of Originalcottages). Great selection of properties and booking is straightforward (online these days). Staff are very helpful in dealing with enquiries whether face to face or by phone/online chat.

Great position, lovely views with easy access to Porthmeor and coast path BUT impossible parking space (as always in St Nicks, Barnaloft and Piazza!) so don't expect to be able to access your car very easily once parked up, especially if you have a neighbouring car next to yours. We have been coming for years and are aware of it, but I think newcomers will be horrified! (as were the people with the space next to ours!) you may have to get in thro' the passenger door with about 6 inches clearance OR through the boot and crawl through to the front - and ours is definitely NOT a big car - If you are happy to leave your car where it is and not get 'out and about', it's fine! (apart from the worry that it might get unintentionally scratched or dented by the poor person next to you trying to get into THEIR car).

Efficient and friendly. Booking was easy, updates useful and well timed. Payment was easy to complete. Recommend.

Great company for booking spectacular properties.
From booking to going home they have kept us informed all the way.
Rang the office twice for a couple of reasons and each person I spoke couldn’t do enough to help me.
Definitely a company to use again.

Property was above the level of normal standards. The property had all the equipment you will need for a great holiday. Watching the sun rise at 6am, why drinking coffee through the main room window was a memory we will never forget. One thing we would like to forget, are the big steep hills to get up and down to the beach lol. What a workout we got. Local cab firm are friendly, very good, quick and saves of the leg muscles. Beaches are so clean, sandy and dog friendly before 10am and after 6pm. Harbour is great for kids to go crab fishing. Food was amazing. Views from the 3 beaches are outstanding and walking around the town and finding so many little gems hidden away. Looking forward to returning and exploring more hidden places.
