Solid Store

I've been a long time customer at Petco, Their staff is a bit undertrained in my opinion, please research what your pets needs before buying them at Petco, but they are incredibly friendly and do try their best. The dog toys are averagely durable, unlike some online alternatives, the vet spots are good to.

I have the Petco app and I love their…

I have the Petco app and I love their rewards system works great to save money and I came on here to write a review bc I ordered my pet food and it was accidentally delivered to my old address bc I moved a couple months ago and I called them soon as it said it was delivered bc I realized it was the wrong address and the same day they sent me a new case of the dog food free of charge! I was beyond grateful!

Great customer service!

Went to the petco in Upper Marlboro, MD yesterday and the staff was excellent! They helped me find everything and were just wonderful people. Best experience in a while.

Grooming Failure

We took our small dog there to be groomed and the last two times he came home with eye infections, which resulted in two vet visits and $350 cost for the visit and medicine. They obviously are not cleaning their equipment or this would not happen two times in a row. Petco is unresponsive despite numerous attempts

Petco sells expired dry dog food with…

Petco sells expired dry dog food with bugs. Nightmare at Petco again! Got a store credit $35 instead of my money back for their overpriced in-store items (they lie on the phone, there's no matching online prices with receipt)… Go back and bought a 30-pound $82 bag of Nutro dog food, get out to my car and it was covered with mealy bugs, checked the expire date and sure enough it expired 6 months ago, go back inside the store, grabbed another bag of the same Nutro that had not expired. I bring it to the cashier, got refunded for first bug bag, and for the exact same product - I owe $10.53. Same item. Why? Turns out the $10 I earned on my Petco card got “used up” when they took back the first mealy bug bag. Why didn’t they just give me the 2nd bag hassle free? I ended up buying canned cat food to be safe. Petco sells expired food rancid with bugs. This store is dangerous. The whole world needs to know Petco has gotten this bad.

The WORST Company to work for…

Petco is hands down the worst company I’ve ever worked for. The internal fraud is rampant, and it’s shocking how they support and even encourage unprofessional behavior. They’ll go to great lengths, including fabricating lies, to try to fire you. If you’re HIV positive or have ADHD, be prepared—they don’t want you there. Time cards get altered, and the in-store cameras conveniently don’t work when they need to. Internal investigations are completely biased and set up to protect the wrong people. It’s a toxic environment where integrity is non-existent. If you value your sanity and professionalism, stay far away from Petco.

Pet grooming overcharge

I made an online appointment for pet grooming at Lancaster PA store. Chose a $59 service. I took my dog the day of the appointment and when I checked out, there was a $7 charge for miscellaneous and a 5.99 charge for more misc. What the heck? Walked out with a 72.00 bill. I asked why these charges were applied to my bill and they just responded oh that's what we've been doing now. Not acceptable! Will not be back!

Baileys Crossroads store is filthy

This afternoon I went to the Baileys Crossroads store (#01716) for cat food. I found the food I needed BUT the entire store is FILTHY. If one can get beyond the piles of dog hair, one could see that the floor is really, really filthy! If I had a dog I would NOT take it into that store! I would not expect that the employees (there were only 2) are responsible for cleaning the large store, but this place needs proper maintenance. What’s the problem in meeting this basic expectation? I’m crossing this store off my list as it is disgustingly dirty.

Vital Care by Petco - Know what you are buying into!

This loyalty program that promises you discounts on pet litter (20%) and pet food (10%), costing you either $299.98 per year if paying monthly or $239.88 when paying a year in advance, has some clear drawbacks:
(1) price prohibitive if you have only one pet, budget brake even for 2 pets and maybe positive for 3 pets and beyond,
(2) regardless how you sign up, either with monthly payments or a lump sum in advance, YOU ARE STUCK IN A ONE YEAR CONTRACT THAT CANNOT BE CANCELLED except when (all) your pet(s) has/have passed away,
(3) the Petco pricing with the discounts applied tend to be the same on other websites. So, there really no gain in paying out dollars for a service that does not provide a monetary benefit. Minimum order is $35 to get free shipping. Other sites have free shipping.

Horrible customer service Uncaring Groomers…

Worst customer service ever the Groomer Mayna is rude and aggressive towards customers She has booked us and then the day of as we get there canceled us with no reason just an "oh well I'm not grooming him I'm not doing it click!" Reviews suggest the store is good for everything else other than grooming go to their site to read grooming reviews before you put your pup's lives in their hands!

IN NEED OF TRAINING AT EVERY LEVEL

I purchased a baby snake. Spent $227.00. The tiny snake was put in a box. It looked like something you would use to transport a hamster or a turtle in, with big air vents at the top. When I got home "guess what"? No snake. I went to the store and talked with the manager and of course their not responsible. Petco is 100% responsible for not using the proper container used for snakes to be transported in. Snakes are known escape artist and are supposed to be transported in a tub or a cloth bag in a box. "Google it Petco". I called corporate and the representative called the manager and told me to go back to the store for a store credit or a refund but the manager still refused to give me a refund or credit or to accept any fault or responsibility in the matter. bottom line, buy your reptiles online from a repeatable source with a live arrival guarantee. Thanks

Terrible attitude

I purchased 24 cans of specialty can food for my pup with bladder issues. It took a month to get through 12 cans and by then my dog was sicker. My vet recommended I take her off the food. I went to Petco to return the remaining 12 cans and they said I was beyond 30 days so no refund or store credit. This is expensive food I CAN NOT use. Nick from the Norwalk CT store told me to call customer service, he clearly couldn't be bothered. I asked for a store manager and was told Laura wasn't there, lol, yea right. Terrible experience! Terrible store! Terrible attitude!

Bad service

They had me wasting time. My dog ​​had an appointment and the grooming front office told me that the vaccines had expired. They sent me to another department to check the vaccines where they told me that they expired. In 2024 I return with the information and oh surprise they can no longer provide the service to my dog ​​because there is already another dog that covered my appointment. Then they tell me that it is Petco's policy that if you are late the appointment is canceled but as I make them understand that I should not be late, the front office made a mistake with my dog's vaccinations. I asked them for a copy of the policy and they didn't have it. I asked them for a phone number to file my complaint and they didn't know. They never accepted responsibility for anything, lousy service.

The staff is friendly and the store is…

The staff is friendly and the store is clean but every single fish I've ever bought here dies within a few hours to a few days. I've owned pet fish for the last 35 years, I try not to come here (for fish) but mom and pop pet stores are too far from me buy every single fish I've ever bought here dies within a few days.
