I would like to correct my earlier…

I would like to correct my earlier review. I would not give this business zero stars—I would give negative stars. This has been an extremely poor experience, and I strongly advise others not to use Stoves Man.

I also feel it is necessary to respond to the inaccurate claims made in their reply to my original review. The facts are as follows:

The hearth cracked from front to back due to poor workmanship by their contractor, Stoves Art.
The installation did not meet HETAS requirements. HETAS explicitly instructed that the work be corrected, as it was non-compliant.
The carbon monoxide detector was installed in the wrong location, meaning it may not have detected dangerous gases—posing a serious safety risk.
The recommended distance between the stove and the beam was not compliant.
The stove door, when opened, extended beyond the hearth, opening directly onto the carpet. This resulted in burning debris falling onto the carpet.
The original oak beam installed was later found to be non-compliant and a potential fire hazard, putting our home at risk.
We have retained all emails and recorded conversations, and are willing to share these if required.

When the hearth cracked, Stoves Man refused to even inspect it, dismissing the issue as “just unlucky.” We were told to purchase a replacement granite hearth at our own expense and pay an additional £500 for refitting.

We only ever used appropriate fuels—clean kindling and logs—in a stove designed for both wood and smokeless briquettes.

Stoves Man did not voluntarily return to fix the issues. He was instructed to do so by HETAS, who required rectification work within 10 days to bring the installation up to a safe standard.

When the contractor returned, the carbon monoxide detector was repositioned, but holes were left in the wall—further evidence of poor workmanship.

This business has shown no genuine intention of resolving issues. Their response to our review has been altered to present themselves in a better light, but it does not reflect the truth.

We have also received threatening and unpleasant emails, including attempts to charge us for the corrective work mandated by HETAS. We were even asked to sign an NDA in exchange for reconsideration—something we firmly strongly disagree with as we believe, telling to truth on a review is important

Finally, I would urge others not to be misled by positive reviews. Based on our experience, some appear questionable, including one written by the owner’s wife.

In summary, this has been a deeply disappointing and concerning experience. We strongly recommend choosing a reputable and competent installer to avoid the risks and stress we have endured.

Warning This Review Is a totally FAKE. It's a review posted by a malicious man who was totally happy for 3 years until his granite hearth cracked. He had been quoted 3 years ago for a 2 piece hearth with expansion gap. Customer insisted on a 1 piece of granite hearth.

3 years later it cracked and customer has manipulated us in every way possible to replace the granite for free.

We have replaced it now for the customer but sadly the customer refuses to except that he made the wrong choice having the granite as one piece. He blames us to save paying for he own mistakes or bad decisions.

I wish I could get others to pay for my mistakes.

‘Britain is no longer broken’ thanks to brilliant customer service and outstanding installation. We ordered on Friday and fitted Tuesday! Wow even Tesco don’t deliver that quickly.
The installation took all day, and despite some difficulties, Stuart persevered to install our wood burner. Working in the dark, up on the roof in the dark until 2100!!! Even then he was in no hurry to get away but checked we were happy with a working appliance. Thank you Stuart for your work, thank you Andrew for a good product and excellent customer service.

⭐️ (If zero stars were possible, we would give them)

If you value good customer service, after-sales support, and compliant installation, Stoves Man is not a company I can recommend.
We engaged Stoves Man to supply and install an Aspect multi-fuel wood burner. The initial sales discussion and product range were positive, but unfortunately the experience deteriorated significantly after installation.
The installation was rushed and completed in October 2023 over four days instead of the planned five, due to the installer having another job. We paid a 50% deposit in advance and the remaining balance on completion. At no point did Andrew Searle (director) visit our property either before or after the installation, including after faults were later reported.
As we work away during the week, the stove was used lightly and mainly at weekends during the winters of 2023/24 and 2024/25. In December 2025, the granite hearth developed a full crack from front to back.
When we reported this to Stoves Man, the response was extremely disappointing. Without visiting our home to inspect the issue, we were simply told that we were “unlucky”. No meaningful investigation, inspection, or remedial proposal was offered.
At the time of raising the issue, Stoves Man stated that they could not locate our sale or invoices on their system and asked us to provide copies. We explained that invoices had never been provided to us. Despite this, invoices were later “found” and sent to us in January 2026 — approximately 27 months after installation.
We have since consulted HETAS and Aspect (the manufacturer). Both have advised that the installation may be sub-standard, including:
• The hearth should be at least 50mm thick; a 25mm single-piece granite hearth was installed
• A multi-fuel appliance ideally requires a two-piece hearth to allow for heat expansion
• The hearth should be laid on a solid, full mortar bed to evenly distribute weight
• Thermal expansion allowances should be present
• A HETAS notice plate should have been installed — none was provided
We have received no reassurance that these requirements were met, and no inspection has taken place.
We also contacted the granite supplier, who were far more sympathetic, but correctly advised that our contract is with Stoves Man. They also expressed surprise that Stoves Man had not inspected the installation.
We are now pursuing the matter via HETAS, Aspect, and our credit card provider under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, due to lack of resolution and concerns over installation standards and safety.
In summary, once payment was made, after-sales service was effectively non-existent. We cannot recommend Stoves Man and will not use them again. This experience has not put us off installing another wood burner in future — but we will certainly be using a different provider.

We are sorry to read that the customer feels disappointed with their experience.

The installation was completed in October 2023 by our long-standing HETAS-registered installer, who has over 12 years’ experience with our company. The installation was carried out in line with HETAS requirements and has since been checked and confirmed as compliant.

We were first made aware of any issue more than two and a half years after the installation, when the customer contacted us to report that the granite hearth had cracked. Naturally we were concerned to hear this and arranged to inspect the stove and hearth.

During our visit we noted that the appliance had been used with small offcuts of treated softwood. Treated timber is not recommended for use in wood-burning or multi-fuel stoves, as it can cause appliances to run excessively hot and potentially lead to damage. Use of unsuitable fuel would normally invalidate manufacturer and installation warranties.

Despite the time that had passed since installation, and the evidence of unsuitable fuel use, we chose to return and replace the granite hearth because we care about our customers and take pride in our work.

We are proud that the vast majority of our customers leave very positive feedback and we always aim to resolve issues wherever reasonably possible.

Stovesman - highly recommended.

We recently moved into a bungalow and we decided to install a woodburner. We already had a woodburner in mind as we had used this type in our old house and it worked efficiently and appropriately. We contacted three local stove installers for estimates. All three visited and gave us a quote. The reason we chose Stovesman is that Andrew listened to what we wanted. He had packages he could offer us but we chose to do something different, ie choosing a stove we had used before and laying a granite hearth instead of slate. Andrew was extremely helpful in organising the installation within a two week timescale. The installation itself was carried out by Michael, a genuinely helpful and professional tradesman. He was particularly keen we get everything perfect. He laid tarpaulins over all the furniture and was continually cleaning down and vacuuming the working areas to limit the spread of the brick dust.He worked two eleven hour days methodically to get the installation completed. We are more than happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Stovesman and Michael. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic service all round

We can thoroughly recommend this company. Andrews was only too happy to come out and discuss options with us. There was absolutely no pressure to buy, we ended up ordering a Bennie 5 wide which looks wonderful in the room. Michael and Connor worked hard in removing an open fire then opened up the fireplace to make plenty of space for the new log burner. Michael is a true professional and with Connor they did a first class job

Top Draw wood burners with great installation

I recently had a new combined wood / coal burner put into my property by Stoves Man and have never looked back. 100% more efficient, lovely and warm and cosy. The work was exceptional leaving everything clean with all the bits and pieces taken out removed and discarded. I could not recommend this company more highly with a unique range of burners to choose from with sound advice on fitting when placing the initial order. Very good after sales advice also, never too much to ask enquiries with sound answers. Well done to all concerned.

Best thing we’ve spent money on

Absolutely brilliant service. From going in the showroom to discuss our options, a home visit to make sure all ok for what we wanted to having the wood burner installed a few weeks later. 5 days it took as we needed an artificial fireplace. They worked really hard and kept everything as clean as possible with sheets. The finished result was fabulous. It’s such a great feature of the lounge now. Best thing we’ve spent money on. Worth every penny. Very very happy customers. Thank you.

This stove was supply only.

We are sorry that this customer had problem with the door on their new stove. The warranty is direct with the manufacturer. A warranty claim must be made direct to the manufacturer. We can forward on parts as required.

As this stove was not fitted by Stoves Man the customer must contact their installer as he is responsible for the works and no other installer should tamper with his work as he signed the certificate.

Stoves man was not contracted to install this stove so the customer must go back to their chosen HETAS engineer for adjustments to be made to the door.

Very pleased with my Jotul 100 Wood Burning Stove which was fitted over 2 days, as per quotation. Although plenty of dust - plenty of dust sheets were used to contain in the lounge and all left in a tidy state!

Yes, there is great Aftercare Service

Apart from a fantastic installation of a beautiful woodburner from start to finish, we also experienced great after care with Andrew returning for the commissioning of the work as well as some good all round advice on running the wood-burner etc.
We felt very reassured that aftercare was also a priority to customers from Stoves Man….. so well done, we are extremely happy customers👍

Stovesman, simply fantastic

Andrew & the team from start to finish have been amazing. From the moment we stepped in the showroom we were given fantastic and helpful advice. Within 3 weeks of confirming and agreeing the stove, chimney, mantel and hearth, installation has been completed.

Andrew was fantastic, giving us true, honest and helpful advice. At every point this was underpinned by staying within HETAS and building regulations. Being a new build, with restricted ventilation, Andrew ensured we had the correct size stove and additional ventilation.

Absolute pleasure to deal with and can't praise highly enough the level of service and professionalism we received. A big thank you to Stuart and Joe who were simply a fantastic fitting team. Helpful courteous and remarkably tidy. It's been a real pleasure doing business with Stovesman, highly recommend.

I love my new woodburner

I love my new woodburner. We had one up until we had our house renovated 10 years ago. I contacted Andrew & within 2 weeks the stove was installed. The lads were brilliant, we had appalling weather but nothing deterred them. The home is cosy warm. Would definitely recommend this company. Thank you Lads.

Stoves Man provided an excellent…

Stoves Man provided an excellent service from the moment we stepped into their showroom to the moment we first lit our newly installed Stovak stove. Andrew talked us through the various options knowledgeably and without being pushy and we felt fully informed.During the subsequent home visit he was professional and friendly. Rob and Mikael installed the stove over a three day period and carried out the work as unobtrusively as they could being careful, cheerful and craftsman-like. We are absolutely thrilled with the fully installed stove. From the initial visit to the first lighting of the stove was only a matter of weeks. We are very pleased we chose Stove Man and we are thrilled with the project they carried out for us.

Perfect log burner

Andrew and the team were fantastic. We wanted to get our log burner fitted before Christmas in our new home. Andrew managed to get us fitted in and done within a couple of weeks. Amazing job, we're so happy with it, very reasonable pricing when comparing with other companies nearby. The guys fitted it within a day and were really tidy. We've already recommended them to a couple of friends!

Absolutely Outstanding

This company is is simply unbelievable!
The ripped out my ancient open fireplace, dating back from at least 200 years as this house was built in 1690, opened up the space behind and transformed the whole thing into the most incredible Multi Fuel Burner including making good all re-rendering and plastering.
They transformed my living room and probably my life within only 2 days. I wish I could attach pictures, the transformation is outstanding.
Now to the work ethics of the guys.
They turned up on time, covered every inch of my living room with reusable plastic covers and dust sheets - and believe me, it will get dusty - and then just got on with their job, no delays or 1 hour lunch breaks, they were totally committed to the job at hand and didn't stop until my living room was back to exactly the way it was before they started work, of course with my new and shiny Multi-Fuel burner and Hearth.
Once they completed the job they hoovered everywhere and even mopped!
If ever you decide to vamp up your house with a Fuel burner, this gang are definitely the people to go with. We had a quote and only 1 week later everything was finished to an incredible standard.
Like I said, I couldn't be happier.
And for the record: This a fully certified and accredited HETAS company.
