Very poor session at Westfield

Very poor session at Westfield, March 2023. The stylist was lovely but made no attempt to understand what my life was like to be able to understand what type of clothes I needed. I paid £310 for a 4 hour session as I needed an outfit for a wedding and also some every day looks. The stylist was much younger than me and put me in many frumpy, hideous dresses that were nothing like the style I pointed out I liked. Half way through I asked to switch to searching for every day clothes as we hadn’t found any nice outfits for the wedding. I bought two shirts that are just ok. What was missing compared to a personal shopper I used 10 years ago was any prep on the part of the stylist - she hadn’t looked at what might be suitable in advance so it was just like wandering aimlessly around the shopping centre with a friend who had a very different style to me. I think I should have been advised to book the session later in the year when the summer collections came out to find something suitable for a July wedding - I was promised a look book of the outfits within a week, I still haven’t received it, I chased up with a message which has been ignored.

Don't trust them to follow their own policies.

So I can't speak for the actual service but based on other reviews that sounds bad enough.

As a booking experience I can vouch that it is awful, their website has terms that discuss getting a full refund within two weeks.

Then in another section it discusses cancelling your booking after two weeks, there are fees and a 5% charge for cancelling after two weeks but you would be refunded for an amount.

Except that isn't the case, when you email them they will explain that this is a different section and how you aren't reading it correctly.

You can't be more clear than "Cancellations over 14 working days are refunded minus 5% of your package fee." but they refuse to offer any refund at all. In the very best case scenario I would say their terms are duplicitous but they don't seem to want to correct those either.

Awful company, save your money from these guys.

Complete waste of time and money

Complete waste of time and money. Whilst I was open to trying new styles, my stylist put me in outfits that were not flattering and completely impractical. There was no curation and the stylist completely missed the brief.

I sent in feedback about the session and had a call with the CEO. They said they never get bad reviews which is clearly a lie given the other posts on Trustpilot. They offered me further styling tips - but quite frankly I did not rate the style so why would I want anymore advice or to invest anymore time in this service.

Wasted money

I bought a half-day session at Westfield Stratford and like the previous reviewer, would absolutely not recommend it. I’d asked for help choosing clothes for dates and evenings out and explained that I liked tailored fitted clothes. The stylist told me “fitted” wasn’t in the shops at the moment and put me in very frumpy middle-aged clothes, baggy tops and dresses. Most of it I would describe as workwear. I’d said my biggest issue was lack of shoes as I live in trainers, so have nothing to go with smarter clothes. We only went to two shops (Oasis and John Lewis) and in the last few minutes she went to a shoe shop without me while I paid for clothes, and sent me photos of shoes she thought I should try. I spent a huge amount of money on clothes I don’t like and have never worn. I didn’t get any shoes. I planned to return the horrible clothes afterwards but didn’t manage to do so in time so I feel an eBay sale coming on. I was very upset that there was no attempt to meet the brief when they go to the effort of sending a questionnaire beforehand.

Not value for money at all

I paid £290 pounds for a half day style session. It was a complete waste of money. I would really not recommend to anyone that they used the service.

[1] The stylist was late, and we met in a public space, with no where to sit, and no time given to introduce how she planned to run the session. I'd been asked to fill in a survey before hand, but there was no evidence that she'd even read my survey or understood what I wanted.

[2] The stylist often said to me that I had to be open to new ideas, which appeared to me to be an excuse to put me in clothing that made me uncomfortable, that was too tight or unpractical for my life. I had no issue with trying new style of clothing - but not to pay £100 for a dress that I don't feel good in.

[3] It was a long session (4 hours) with no planned breaks or time to rest and review the clothing session.

[4] For a long session, I was only taken to 2 stores. John lewis and river island.

[5] The pieces purchased didn't really go together. No attempt was made during the session to show me my capsule wardrobe, which was what i'd asked for in my survey. Again, evidence that the session was total unplanned.

[6] During the set up of the session, my time and day was rescheduled 3 times by style doctors due to calendar issues. This came across as unprofessional.

Overall, I would thoroughly not recommend this service. I got this as a treat, and thought that this was connected to Westfield, and so expected a decent service. But for what I paid, it was terrible.
