Ordered eight Court 5 chairs for our dining room. The chairs were ordered on the 25th November and arrived on 19th January. Very good lead time for bespoke products, but given that this includes the Christmas break, we were very pleased. We were kept informed of progress and told when to expect delivery. The chairs are perfect and we couldn’t be happier. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Style Matters.

Style Matters have some absolutely great furniture and one way or another I have used them for years. As with most things its all fine until its not and then it is really really bad. Ordering is easy, they take yoru money fast, delivery guys in particular so helpful and friendly, but...

Will however never use them again and if anyone wants the truth then just ask.

Things to do: Always ensure they are making the furniture, they give the impression they make it all in the UK but much is imported and that is a huge issue. Both in terms of quality and delivery. Had entire delivery pushed back 4 times because of issues with only ten items stuck in customs, that is how I found out its not all UK made.

Get a confirmed date from them and get a penalty clause for failure to delivery. They are quick to take all your money prior to delivery, and I think this is because they know they will let you down somehow. You have to ask yourself why they would not commit to this unless they know they are going to miss deadlines they have agreed to.

Get it in writing, they will promise the earth upfront and on the phone and then when it goes south directors run for the hills and take no ownership.

Get a commitment on fault correction, one item took months, and I mean months to fix and more recently still waiting weeks on a fix to a big issue, and the answer you get is we are waiting to hear from the supplier.

Double check they have actually ordered your fabric. They waited till the day before delivery on all our outdoor seating to announce the fabric would take months to arrive in the country and we had to get another product and change the design to try and get things back on track.

Check their measurements again and again and again, they got entire custom cushion section wrong by about a metre short when it arrived.

If you are in hospitality you know how unforgiving our customers are, yet the industries that supply us do not hold themselves to the same standard and that is a real shame.

I ordered some furniture and seating from them, the furniture and seating became baggy very quickly (within a few weeks)and didn’t seem like good quality, rubbish actually.I could tell it would not last long in the restaurant, considering how many people would be sitting there. Complained to them about the quality of the the seating and it will look useless in few months. I have been guaranteed new seating by them, But still no one has been in contact with me to rectify this awful seating and unfortunately they have had 80% of the bill , which amounts to a lot of money, which I’m probably never going to get back as they have carried out work in an awful finish. Do not use this company, Rubbish workmanship and they will not get back to rectify faults when they have your money. You will waste your money and regret it.
