Very good initial quote but beware, they will go to great lengths to find a reason to 'amend' your premiums. I am going to the ombudsman with my case and would recommend others do the same. Put a st... See more

Sure Thing

Sure Thing are very helpful in organising the insurance and the payments. I have found them to be reasonable in price compared to other insurance companies. I would recommend them for your vehicle insurance.

£30 to change one small detail on Policy !!!!

I noticed that my Policy incorrectly stated that I was the main driver of the car of the vehicle insured. I queried this with an Agent when dealing with another enquiry and was told that it did not matter. When I checked online it also showed that I was the registered owner of the vehicle so I rang again and was told that as I had filled the statement in online they could change it no problem to show that my husband was the owner and keeper of the vehicle but leave the policy in my name I said that would be fine and was then told it was a standard charge of £30! I have no way to prove it disprove that the error was mine but I had no option but to pay or I risked the policy being invalid. But mean I felt.

Would not use again

Took out a policy, didn’t realise that I had put 9 years no claims when I only had 8yrs 11.5 months due to getting a new car. They emailed and upped my policy by £144 with a £30 admin charge. When I rang to see if there was anything they could do they said even though their policy with 8 years no claims comes up at the same price I initially paid I still had to pay the extra and the only way was to loose what I’d paid £50+ and take out the identical policy again and make another lump payment. As I was within 14 days of taking out the policy I cancelled and saved over £200 by going elsewhere. My mistake but due to covid getting hold of previous companies hasn’t exactly been easy!

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to leave your review and we are sorry to hear you’ve been left unhappy with SureThing!. When a change is made to a policy, we charge a £30.00 service fee. Your insurer will then adjust your premium to reflect the change you have made. Unfortunately, any change in premium is not something we are able to influence or override. I would like to investigate the prices quoted to you and review what options may be available. If you can please send your policy details to feedback@surething.co.uk and we’ll be in touch. Regards Mick

Surething increase costs when you call them.

I intended to renew my car insurance with Surething after my search on moneysupermarket saw them only £1.50 more than the cheapest quote from Tesco. Both surething and tesco were taking into account that my wife had an accident in her own car last year. Believing that the renewal price would be the same as quoted on moneysupermarket, I called to make sure that the renewal price would be the same as the moneysupermarket price, but no, the chap on the phone increased the policy by £80 so I told them not to renew the policy thinking that would be the end of the matter. Then a few days later I get an email telling me that the policy is cancelled and they will refund the money money.
Yes, that's right they had already taken my money, days before the policy was due to be renewed. They are going to refund the money back into my account but they should not have taken the money before the renewal date.
They are responsible for loss of interest which of course they will not refund.

Hi Paul. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review and we are sorry to hear you’ve been left unhappy with SureThing!. When a policy is due for renewal, we issue a renewal invite which informs the policy will automatically renew for your protection and convenience. If your policy is paid in full, we also advise the payment will be collected between 3 – 4 days before the renewal date. Should you wish to stop the renewal of your policy after the payment has been collected but before the renewal date you can do so without any charge & the money will be refunded to you. Your renewal quote is based on your current policy details, should a claim be reported for any driver even on another policy we require our policyholder to inform us so we can be sure the renewal quote is correct and the policy provides the correct cover. We would always look to honour a price you may have seen online if all the details are correct. I would therefore like to investigate why this has not happened on this occasion for you. If you can please send your policy number and your quote reference number to feedback@surething.co.uk and we will be in touch. Kind regards, Mick.
