I have been learning with Miss Thảo Tâm for around 8 months now and I could not be happier with my experience. She has been an energetic, patient, respectful, thoughtful and encouraging teacher. I am an intermediate learner and I was very pleased with how quickly she managed to get me away from using any English during our lessons. She has significantly improved my speaking and comprehension. Not to mention that we have so much fun and lots of laughs.
Beyond the one-on-one lessons, they provide lots of resources, videos and interactive activities to keep me busy.
The value provided by SVFF is unparalleled. I cannot recommend it enough.

I want to preface this by saying, I am Việt kiều and have grown up around Vietnamese speakers but it was difficult for me to pick up the language because I spoke and interacted with mostly English speakers in my daily life. I've always gotten made fun of by family and friends who spoke Vietnamese lol.

Ms. Thảo Tâm has helped me tremendously with learning my Vietnamese. I have been studying with her for about 6 months now and am very happy with my progress. There is a structure to the course but my classes always felt like they were tailored to me because she really puts in the effort to get to know my goals and my life. A typical lesson would involve reviewing the coursework, reading, writing, role-playing, and listening. Recently, I have expressed interest in learning how to type in Vietnamese and Tâm has been incorporating that into our lessons. Pronunciation of tones was probably the hardest thing for me but Tâm has really helped me improved my pronunciation and Southern accent. I am able to speak to my family members better because the barrier between language is getting smaller and people have noticed how much better my Vietnamese is now.

Lastly, I just want to highlight how patient and encouraging Ms. Thảo Tâm is. I come into every class with a dozen of questions and she always makes time to answer them and usually goes past our scheduled meeting time to help me understand them. There was a time I felt like I plateaued because I was struggling so much with pronunciation. She saw how frustrated I was and broke it down for me so that I could understand and build my confidence.

Vietnamese is a pretty hard language even for someone like me who has grown up with it. I had a stint where I was trying to self-learn but the immersion, care, and dedication of Ms. Thảo Tâm and the SVFF team is what ultimately helped me improved my Vietnamese.

It's been nearly a year since I have started learning Vietnamese with Ms. Thảo Nguyên and wow does time fly. At first, I tried learning Vietnamese by myself for about 3-4 months, just trying various apps and books to try to build a foundation but felt like I did not see much improvement using those methods. I wanted to see improvement and so I knew that the best method to see slow but gradual improvement was to find a teacher to help guide and correct any habits I have formed. I discovered SVFF through their YouTube page and saw that they were constantly uploading videos which was a clear indication that they were active and committed to teaching Vietnamese. I chose Ms. Nguyên due to my schedule at the time and couldn't have picked a better teacher. She has always been helpful, understanding, friendly and patient with me each and every lesson since when I started to even now. Her way of teaching expands on the textbook by introducing outside topics and ideas to help not just teach me Vietnamese but also teaching me about Vietnamese culture. As a student, I constantly find myself struggling to understand certain topics but Ms. Nguyên always goes above an beyond by looking for additional resources outside of our meeting times. After the first month or two learning with Ms. Nguyên, I could already see more improvement than the 3-4 months of self-learning. If you have any desire to learn Vietnamese and are comitted, I really do believe that Ms. Thảo Nguyên and SVFF would be an excellent place to faciliate that learning.

I have been learning Vietnamese with Thảo Tâm, with SVFF for the past 7 months. She is very kind and patient and will go slower if needed. She is very good for beginners like me. She always comes to our lessons prepared and has various different interactive ways to learn Vietnamese. She is very personable and asks real questions about my life and teaches me how to answer them in Vietnamese. She always answers my questions no matter how many times I ask the same one. She makes me feel comfortable. She also helps me also understand more about Vietnamese culture as well. I am learning Vietnamese to talk to my Fiancé and his parents and she helps me learn the most natural and native way to speak, write and read in the southern dialect. Miss Thảo Nguyên with SVFF is the best and most helpful teacher I could have asked for! She is personable and super friendly, but she also encourages me to study and keeps me focused on learning and practicing. I came into this program with absolutely no knowledge of the language, and she has been able to help me by focusing on sounds and pronunciation first before introducing too much vocabulary. This is super helpful with language learning because it will allow me to be more clear and accurate when I start speaking more later on. She has also taken the time to learn more about me, and has adapted her lessons to include words and cultural information that will be more useful to me personally to keep me motivated to learn. I came into this language learning journey a little bit nervous and insecure, but Cô Thảo Nguyên has given me so much confidence and has helped me to study a lot. I've been learning with Phi for over 2 years now and it has been a great experience to improve my Vietnamese and confidence in speaking. The customized lessons work for me and with all of the online materials available, I can work on things outside of our sessions. I highly recommend him and the team.

I have been taking one on one lessons with Mr. Hiệp Mậu for about 6 months. My only regret is that I didn't start sooner.
I am a native English speaker that has studied Tagalog and Spanish, but had no experience with a tonal language. My wife's parents speak Vietnamese and Teochew. Since there are no real resources to learn Teochew, I decided to try learning Vietnamese on my own with various apps. I didn't get far before I quit trying.
The resources and learning material available as an SVFF student are amazing. The activities and exercises are engaging and useful. The videos are so helpful and are actually usually pretty funny.
I don't think I can say enough about my instructor. First, as a busy Professional, I'm glad someone could help me during my only free time. Mr. Hiệp Mậu is always flexible about scheduling. I enjoy our lessons, I don't think there has been a lesson where I haven't laughed. I might be laughing at my mistakes, but I still have fun. He always has answers to my questions, including etymology of words which helps me remember vocabulary. Most importantly he has helped me improve my Vietnamese skills. I always look forward to our lessons and hope to continue learn from him and the teachers at SVFF.

SVFF has a great amount of various studying resorce, such as videos, podcasts,... available on different sites like Youtube, Facebook, Tiktok,...I'm also really impressed with their active textbook, which is not only a book, but also a source of all kinds of references. What you need to do is just clicking into the activities, the audios, or videos right there on the lesson's page.
Teachers here are amazingly friendly and active, too. They always bring you the most practical way of speaking in Vietnamese.
Lastly, it's great that SVFF always listen to either their students or their teachers. This is known by the way they let students comment or report on any lesson of their textbook or activities by the "flag"icon.
Therefore, I believe this is a reliable site for you to learn and improve your knowledge of not only Vietnamese but also Vietnamese culture.

Thuong Nguyen has been the most patient and supportive teacher I could ask for. I look forward to my lessons with her because she always encourages me to be the best student I can be.

I've watched video lessons on youtube and various other sites for a couple of years now, and written down words that I could memorize. It worked for a while, but eventually I practiced less and less. I was quite satisfied with their video lessons, especially the one teaching pronounciation (southern accent), so I decided to try 1-on-1 online lessons with SVFF.

I have been studying with cô Thương for a little over 2 months now, and I'm learning a lot. She's very patient, and always gives me useful tips when I ask about things. The online text book is very useful, with audio, videos and texts to read. There are also quizzes and various interactive activites.

I went from learning 5 words (or often no words) per week to 20+ words every week. I'm also starting to recognize more words from conversations on youtube, and when my family is talking.

I'm very satisfied with my lessons, and if you're in doubt, I'd recommend trying it out. It's much more effective than learning on your own. I wish I had started my 1-on-1 online classes years ago.

I have been conducting lessons with SVFF for at least a couple years, and the degree of professionalism is far above any other teaching resources on the internet. I would consider them a mini University at your pace for any level of student. They constantly take feedback, and adjust the course material according to your needs so that you make deliberate progress. For myself, I have gone from a street speaker to learning how to read and write (to a degree) and I am much much better at listening and speaking, I am not even starting to think about reading books which I would have never imagined before. I can't imagine life without the resources of SVFF. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

They have a wealth of useful learning resources and I've found the 1-on-1 lessons to be invaluable. Within a couple of weeks I felt like I'd learnt more practical language skills than I'd had from one month of learning with a textbook.

I've been fortunate enough to have Khành Hưng as a my teacher and highly recommend him to everyone that has the opportunity to learn with him. He quickly picks up on, and corrects my mistakes, is very encouraging, enthusiastic, and endlessly patient.

I am a regular student with SVFF and have been learning with Kim Thương there for about 6 months in 1-on-1 classes over the Internet. Both Miss Thương and SVFF get my highest recommendations for teaching southern Vietnamese.

I am terrible at learning languages and have never become close to fluent in any language except my own (English). I am easily intimidated speaking in front of others and making mistakes too. Despite this, SVFF and Miss Thương have helped me immensely and made a huge difference in my understanding and speaking abilities.

I live in the US and took a trip back to Vietnam last month. My understanding of Vietnamese and the locals showed an incredible difference in my abilities from a trip a year before that. I do not have anyone to practice Vietnamese with locally in the US, so it has all come from their classes. In addition to a really, really great teacher, the online curriculum is also very good - videos, videos at slow speaking paces, interactive quizzes and learning activities, and more all help. I plan to continue learning with SVFF and Miss Thương indefinitely. Classes are a fair price, the curriculum is good, my teacher is exceptional, and SVFF is a trustworthy company.

While on a tour in north Vietnam, a stranger overheard me speaking with my tour guide about where we were going next. He came up to me and asked "Anh ơi - anh sống được ở Việt Nam bao nhiêu năm rồi?" (Bro - how many years have you lived in Vietnam now?) When I told him that I just arrived the Sunday prior, he asked me how I was able to speak Vietnamese like I do, and this really felt like a point of validation that my ability to speak is definitely improving!

I've been studying Vietnamese with my tutor Thương at SVFF for 2 months and my progress is making me very proud. Thương is patient and great at explaining complex sentence structures, always providing me with lots of examples which helps to truly make them sink into my memory.

SVFF's learning portal and study materials strike a perfect balance with listening, interactive word puzzles, reading, and speaking exercises, seamlessly complementing the lessons. It's fantastic for reviewing and tracking my progress. Now, I understand much more when my Vietnamese family is talking, and I'm confident in speaking simple sentences.

I have been learning with Miss Kim Thương for over a month, and with SVFF for a year. I enjoy my lessons with Miss Thương very much. She is very encouraging and supportive, and always check to make sure I understand everything.

I appreciate that Miss Thương adds her own learning materials, videos and fun facts instead of just following the SVFF lesson plan. For example we spent on lesson talking about Tét Trung Thu and another lesson on a nutrition video. The variety of topics make the conversations interesting and helps me practice new words more naturally.

Lastly, reviewing words at the start of each class and writing down words I don't know is very useful for me. As I have Viet parents, free speaking and vocabulary are much more challenging for me than pronounciation. During the time I have been learning with SVFF, I have noticed much improvement here and can only recommend them whether you are a beginner or intermediate speaker.

I couldn't be happier with my experience at SVFF, especially with my teacher, Co Thuong. Her engaging teaching style and SVFF's comprehensive curriculum have made learning Vietnamese an absolute pleasure. I highly recommend SVFF to anyone interested in learning the language!

SVFF provides a Vietnamese learning experience with an online textbook and online 1 on 1 lessons. The textbook is a core part of the learning experience, but the real valuable part is being able to practice your Vietnamese directly in conversation. I find it's fun to talk about Vietnamese culture and events and that's possible since the teachers at SVFF live in Vietnam. The teachers here are able to give you a glimpse of the Vietnamese experience which wouldn't be possible learning Vietnamese alone.

I've been learning with my teacher Kim Thương and it has been a great journey so far. I feel like my conversational skills have improved a lot and I feel that's due to the tons of improvisation that I'm doing in class. Classes with Thương are always interactive with review and puzzle sections to work on. But I think the best part of learning with Thương is that she is always enthusiastic and supportive with my learning.

Fantastic resources and teachers
SVFF has an amazing collection of resources for Vietnamese learners. Each subject has at least 10 audio clips in slow and normal speeds, and there are also videos with conversations including subtitles, many texts to read and many types of quizzes to test your knowledge. I am learning with Ms Kim Thuong who is a very helpful and patient teacher. Although she is of course a native Vietnamese speaker, her English is excellent and she can explain concepts and the meanings of words very well. Definitely recommend a trial lesson, you will immediately see the value.
