Great apartment in Barcelona ina perfect location. Everything was fine, thank you.
Excellent service would certainly recommend.
Swikly claims to "offer a solution for protecting rentals or bookings without debiting or blocking funds on the customer's bank card", however my credit card was indeed debited. The amount was taken in euros on a UK credit card and, as a result, I incurred a fee of £29.67 for currency conversion.

Unjustified withdrawals and complete lack of mediation
I had a very disappointing experience with Swikly. After a stay from October 11th to 12th, 2025 (booked via GreenGo), the host ordered two unjustified withdrawals of my deposit through Swikly: €49 on Oct 18 and €101 on Oct 22 — €150 in total without any valid reason.
The photos used to justify these charges were dated October 16th, days after my departure, and no evidence of actual damage was ever provided. Despite several messages, Swikly did not suspend the transactions or initiate any real mediation.
Swikly claims to offer a secure deposit service, but in reality, they process unilateral requests from hosts without proper verification. This raises serious concerns about consumer protection and platform integrity.
I strongly advise against using this service: no transparency, no support, and a system that clearly favors dishonest hosts.
These are typical crooks working in tandem with the property owner. I had the misfortune of renting an apartment in Lyon in early 2025. After my stay, I received a glowing review from the owner for leaving the apartment in good order, etc. The owner asked me to post my own review on the booking platform, which I did. I rated my stay 3 out of 5 and listed all of the accommodation’s shortcomings. In response, a couple of days later I received a demand to seize the deposit, with ridiculous photos—like a piece of chewing gum on a light fixture, a cigarette butt in a desk drawer, and a broken bedside lamp. I don’t smoke and I left the apartment clean, which I explained with evidence in a letter to Swikly. I attached the letter with photos and the owner’s review in which he called me a “model guest.” None of that mattered; no one looked into it. I was told the owner intended to collect the full deposit. I am convinced Swikly is acting in collusion with the owner and is not interested in arguments or the truth. It’s simply a gang of thieving crooks.
Don’t usually have to pay a security deposit but last apartment booked through a company who contract out the deposit. No hassle with Swikly and they provided useful information and responded quickly to enquires.
Absolutely horrible! I still don’t have my deposit back and it has been two months and three weeks and I still don’t have my deposit back. Do not use this. It’s a scam! They released a fake receipt showing that they had put the money back in my account and it’s still not back in my account. This is $470.04 US dollars! I am not going to stop until my bank gets to the bottom of this but what a pain to have to deal with this I would never ever ever recommend using or putting your deposit down through Swikley ever it’s a rip off agency!!!
Well organised, trustworthy company, security deposit released as promised.
Easy to use and gave us that extra security.
I had not experienced this sort of financial transaction before, and I was rather nervous of it. However, Swikly communicated well with me, and the process went very well. It was useful that the money involved was not at any time debited to my credit card account.
Before I had even stayed the night, they had taken the a deposit of 600 Euros from account. This was for a one night stay in a room that cost £250.
It was then next to impossible to have the funds returned. Neither Bookings. com or the agent taking care of the room, could help.
1.. It's illegal
2..They falsely advertise
Swikly - The security deposit solution that does not debit your account..
which they SO DID
Scam company. In insurance cases, they are really creative in taking your money and cashing out twice... further they tell you, that you get your money back within 21 days.... It´s been almost 2 months and many escalations... can really not recommend. And if you have to do deposits on booking first always contact booking.com!
I could have not asked for a better location. You look down at the marina with restaurants or go the other way and you’re in town. You were close enough to do trips to the other areas (Lagos, taveira faro the mountains).Home holidays is awesome, I had a few questions when we arrived and they responded immediately. I’m coming back in a few months and would certainly use them again.
Excellent service Swikly! Thank you so much. I look forward to using your services again, the next time.
