Pleasant experience
The waitress Tharv was very pleasant. The time the meal was brought was good. The only hiccup we had was when our meals were brought, we had no cutlery. As Tharv had already walked away, I walked over to another empty table and retrieved what we needed. I would suggest the presentation of the meal would be helped greatly, if the cook would just put a piece of parsley or some kind of grenery on it. This would just make the meal look a little nicer.

We waited over an hour for our chicken meals. We arrived at 5pm and finally left by 6:30. I had the popcorn shrimp appetizer. After a little bit of time the waitress told us that the chicken would take about 10mins. By this time it was 6pm, finally got our meals.
Normally the manager in other restaurants would come out, apologize and offer us the appetizer free or a piece of pie free. Nothing like this happened. Profit about customer satisfaction and courtesy.

My best friend and I went to the same location we've been dining at for at least 20 years,1400 O'Connor Dr. In Toronto.The fries were cold and soggy,the chicken was stringy and hard to cut.The garden salad was definitely not fresh.That was her meal.I had the chicken spring rolls,they were burnt on the ends.To top it all off we had an unfriendly waitress.The quality of the food at this location and the service has gone down hill.We will not be returning

No consideration for kids
My wife ordered food at the Swiss Chalet on Upper James, but neither she nor the cashier specified whether it was for dine-in or take-out. My wife didn't check the receipt and assumed it was for dine-in, but when she picked up the food, she realized it was for take-out. We had our two kids with us, and they were hungry, so my wife asked the server if we could eat inside. The server spoke with the manager, but they refused, even though there were only a few customers inside. I was disappointed that the manager didn't consider the needs of our children. We were not satisfied with the service at this Swiss Chalet location (1377 Upper James, Hamilton) and will not be returning.

Rita has overhauled this restaurant and it is so much better!
There is a sense of family here. Orders are always hot, plentiful and accurate.
They used to be cheap and only give one plumb sauce for the spring rolls. Now, they give two!!

Not a good experience.
Had to order a large order ($78.28) specifically for leftovers. I suffered a fall and couldn’t get out to shop for food. I received my order but it was all screwed up. At first the cranberry sauce was replaced by coleslaw. It was pretty so I decided to call them the next day. I called 16 times that day and got no answer. So I finally called the HQ in Ottawa to put a complaint. They were finally able to contact the SW location I was dealing with and the manager at that location called me. After all the frustration I dealt with for a week, I was as offered a credit or a complete refund. I chose the refund and was told a refund would be issued. That was the week between Xmas and New Year’s Eve. No refund as of January 11, 2025. This SW location is on Ogilvie road in Ottawa. I did inform them that I would write about my experience on social media and unlike them I keep my word. I won’t be ordering from them anymore. I suggest you do the same.

Terrible meal on New Years Day 2025
On Jan 1st 2025 Ordered family meal from Swiss Chalet in Orangeville, Ontario to celebrate brand new year. it was the most disappointing meal I have ever purchased. the chicken couldn't be any smaller and the french fries were horrible. Even the kids refused to eat them therefore all 3 containers of french fries has gone to the trash and I had to scramble to make a substitute for them. The french fries were all burned and dried up and looked as if they were left over scraps. Nothing like they should have been or are shown on pictures (terrible waste of my money). Tasted horrible. After this experience I don't think I will ever be buying any meals from Swiss Chalet again.

Foreign object found in food
While eating our dinner, I could feel something sharp in my mouth with my tongue. After removing it, I thought I broke my tooth but after looking it over carefully, I believe it was someone's broken fingernail. My b/f and I threw out the leftovers.
