Recently purchased a new Landrover…

Recently purchased a new Landrover Defender from Syntner at Aylesford. The Sales guy Mike Hughes went above and beyond expectations. Very knowledgeable and a great communicator, before during and after sale. I’ve bought many cars over the years and this is the first time I have experience such great service.
So far so good. Thanks again Mike you were outstanding.

3 star and that’s being generous. More deserving of 2 star.

I bought a Used Volvo 12 months ago from what was then Rybrook Volvo and the service when buying it was excellent. Then the problems started…..when you had a query no one rang back etc. The car was due for MOT so I called to book it in, they couldn’t get it in until after it was due so I ended up having to get it done elsewhere which cost me, with the Volvo used car plan the MOTs are supposed to be included. When we bought the car the salesman told us he would put two years app on….he only put one year on, and that ran out after just 9 months!!!….as it went from the last MOT date which was three months before I bought the car. After several phone calls eventually it was sorted out. Today the car has been serviced and I now feel that I don’t trust what they say. I pay a monthly fee for a service plan, which over the past 12 months have paid in around £450 quid. I asked the service receptionist how much a service, his answer was “oooh, about £600” which I thought to be ludicrous, but he went on to say that I’ve therefore saved money having the service plan!!! Really? They told me in a health check video that the car needs new tyres and brake pads on the rear and that the cost would be nigh on £800. When I look at the tyres there is plenty of wear left in them. I was a bit shocked to see that they had not topped up the AdBlu…..not sure whether they would but as all fluids and filters were checked and replaced, I thought it reasonable to expect this….but not topped up. They did however “top up” and charge me £4 quid to top up the washer fluid…..strange thing is that a I had personally topped this up with screen wash and water until it was overflowing yesterday afternoon and it has NOT been used since, so exactly what have they topped up for £4 quid. All in all, I feel disappointed. I had a Jaguar before and whilst I know that all dealers are out to make money, I never experienced anything like this lack of service from Jag dealers. I tried to call Syntner Chester 15 mins after leaving to query these things as had they have agreed that it was an error, I would have gone back, but the receptionist told me that Service was busy…..she promised to get them to call me back, which they did four hours later!!!….by which time I was at home so not much use as we live over an hour away. Anyway, not impressed at all.

Sytner group

I bought an approved used car from syntner Mercedes Milton Keynes last dec 2022, drove car home to glasgow. Amber eml light came on ,ph Mercedes sos on car ,was told to book into local mb dealer, contacted syntner mk , said not too worry about 30 days return ,that they would honour it , had to wait till 19th jan for them to look at car ,it was nox sensors , had to wait till March for them to be available . Was then told by syntner they could only offer me market value which was about 13.000, I paid 17,000 3 months earlier , car had been off the road in that time , then in dec 23 ,just before mb approved used warranty ran out , eml came on again and said could not read ad blue , I tried to put ad blue in car ,but kept coming back out ,took it to mb glasgow again who said it was a wire broken below ad blue tank , said warranty never covered it ,wanted 400 to fix wire and re test, I took car away complained to mb uk and syntner mk ,who were not interested , I took car to independent garage for 2nd opinion , who said wiring was ok when they ran a trace through it and it was an ad blue tank ,sensor ,and pump , needed . Said they have fixed lots of c class with this issue , mb said it was a wire fault to get out of paying 3000 for ad blue fault which should be covered by warranty , a disgrace ,stay well clear of mb Milton Keynes , they will promise you anything to sell a car .

Outstanding customer service by Demi

We purchased a new Discovery Sport from Sytner Landrover, Coventry in March, this year. The commitment to customer service at our initial meeting with Demi Woolaston, then up to collection and contiued after has been truly outstanding. Including taking calls on days off! Sytner Coventry from from our interactions set a benchmark standard particularly highlighted by Demi. Thank you so much. It goes as well without saying the onsite customer facilities are excellent.

Trust!

Trust!
This isn’t the first dealing I have had with the Syntner Car Group.
From not receiving promised actions to not replying to telephone requests to not replying from an email sent to the Principle at a Porsche dealership (not surprising, as it all leads from the top) to a recent dishonesty at a BMW dealership on the price of a car I was interested in.
Being informed by the sales person that it was one price, negotiating a reduced price and agreeing after talking to their “Sales Manager” only to find that the same negotiated price being advertised on their website. Either they’re all in it or someone is being dishonest. To an inflated APR on their finance deals far beyond other BMW dealerships. Need I say more?

Syntner is a main Mercedes Dealer.
I advise anyone using this Company to try and fix their Mercedes to think again.
I visited the Carlisle Branch recently and found them to be nothing more than con merchants.

They could not find the fault on my car and gave me the car back in a worse condition then when I gave it them. Apart from doing a small10 minute job to drain surplus water from the sill of my car they spent a further 5 minutes doing an diagnostic. They kept me hanging around for over 2 hours and spent 15 minutes on my car and then charge me £174.
They were rude and flippant Lady called Shona, told me I needed a further £850 to sort the problem out.
I then took the matter to Mercedes themselves and complained to them spoke to another arrogant man called Rob who I believe is based in Holland. After 7 days he decided that the Mercedes agency were right to quote this extortionate amount to fix a simple electrical fault. He thought I had nothing to complain about. He is a pathetic human being who is not fit for his role as customer service man for the mighty Mercedes!

Mercedes are no better than a back street garage ripping people off. Just go onto the Mercedes website and look at their awful reviews and as for the so called Rob he would be better as a second hand car dealer in the days of the Arthur Daley.
Horrible experience.

I have been purchasing Mercedes for 50 years.
This is the last one because I am convinced Mercedes simply do not give a damn.
