Ordered a shelf in 2019. The shelf fit and finish is great. Got the LED motion light and 3 cards. Everything is fine in that respect. My issue is the release mechanism for the trap. It eats batteries like crazy. If left idle they last about 3 months. If used it will open 3-4 times and batteries are toast. Im using Duracell so not because cheap batteries. 4 AAA every 3 months is a bit excessive. I have the backup but, in an emergency who has time. At $9 a 4 pack it really isn't worth it. Paying $40 a year to keep this thing operating is crazy. I don't know if they all do this but, mine does. I would think knowing the Rifd reader is always in a ready mode using power they could put a pass through outlet that runs the reader as well as keeping concealment. You could put a plug in lamp or cell charger on shelf and send the unit power down to the wall, also having a battery backup, and no one would suspect the wire. If the reader didn't eat batteries this would be a 5 star product.

I purchased a shelf from tactical traps… I love my shelf.. I did have a problem 6 months later after I changed the batteries (as recommended). The shelf would not stay closed.. I called tactical traps. They directed me to a site that I viewed and was able to reset the lock.. I have not had any problems since.. if that did not work I would be able to speak with an associate! Love this product

The patriot shelf i bought does look very nice, and so far seems to work well.
Unfortunately, as soon as I placed my order, my email was flooded with sales pitches for other products. They did send me a receipt, but the next day sent an email saying I had not placed an order and that I should look at another product and order that. Just weird.
They never sent a note telling me when I would recieve the shelf. I had to wait over three weeks.
When I did get the shelf, it did not include the promised upgrade (a light).
I texted customer service again and they said they had run out of the lights, so I would not get one. I had to screen shot their advertisement back to them, which stated they guaranteed I would get an upgrade....they finally mailed one to me.
Product seems good...the people seem very sketchy.

We received Tactical Trap’s shelf yesterday in good condition. We watched the on-line installation video, then mounted the shelf on our wall in less then 1 hour. It looks and works great! Also, Tactical Trap's communication was excellent throughout the period that our shelf was being manufactured and shipped. Thanks for fantastic product at a great price!

Poor customer service after the sale. I purchased my shelf in 2021. Last time I opened the shelf to retrieve my weapon, the shelf would not stay closed. Changed batteries. Bought a new card and reprogrammed. Still would not stay closed. Had to use blue painters' tape to keep it closed. Contacted Tactical Traps multiple times, Zoom meeting, video sent. Just kept being delayed, " warehouse manager had to review it". In the meantime, Bob from IT kept sending emails," ticket closed. As of today 10/7/2025,. I have a useless shelf hanging with blue tape keeping it closed. No response from Tactical Traps.
Did not include the LED inside as advertised. Was told by support it was limited stock. That's not listed in the listing. Hope you never have to rely on bluetooth in an emergency as it's incredibly slow.

The shelf I bought was delivered to the wrong address (MY FAULT) customer service figured it out with in 5 minutes of my call, great customer service, which can be limited now of days. It's great to hear a person pick the phone up and resolve my problem. as far as the shelf I can say enough about the workman ship & quality and finish, love it, bought a second one

Fast replies to my email and fixing my issue! I had let me batteries die and then could not get the backup to work. They had a zoom meeting with me and told me how to reset the lock and it fixed my problem!

While trying to switch modes on my box I managed to deprogram my three key cards. The user instructions are vague to say the least.
In an effort to open my box I called customer service and they said that they would send me a link to purchase a "master" card for $15. This card will open ANY box "one or two" times according to the representative. That doesn't give me the warm and fuzzy for having my fire arms secured.
At this point I am planning on using a demo saw to remove the box from my wall (can't access the screws on a closed box).
And if I'm ever in the need of a new firearm, I'll save my master card for a rainy day.

Bought the Mirror and after receiving it realized that is was too heavy for the wall. It was probably 50lbs if not more. The outside frame way overlapped the back so it would not have shut anyways. It was very obvious that it was made in CHINA. I called the company no answer. Emailed them and it took 2 days to respond. I had to ship the mirror back on my own money which was 324$ because of the size. I asked for a refund and its been 3 weeks now and still nothing. I will never buy anything from them again. I recommend that anybody looking to purchase anything from Tactical Traps. DON'T.

I ordered two of the Liberty Shelves. When ordering I made a mistake and ordered a defender shelf instead. This was on a Sunday, so I contacted Tactical Traps by email. After sending I also saw a customer service phone number. On Monday morning on my way to work I called the number. After a short hold I spoke to a real person, that I could understand! Donna took down my issue and ensured me she would get with management and have them refund my order. Within 2 hours I had an email about my refund being completed and a link to order the correct shelf. The refund was already back in my bank account! About an hour later I received a response email from my Sunday email. It was Donna responding. Wow! On my new order I had a question, which I emailed again. The next day I received an email answering my question. Again it was from Donna, amazing customer service!! A+
