55,000 people bought a home with HTB in…

55,000 people bought a home with HTB in 2021 this means this disgusting company is making over £11 million in admin fees and does not provide any information, repeatedly asks you for information you’ve already sent and never answers the phone. This is a disgrace and needs investigation from the authorities

Further more I receive almost automated emails relating to other peoples addresses. This must mean they are also breaching Data protection law they are a joke

Same horrific story as others for the equity redemption

Same horrific story as others on this forum regarding redemption… I am remortgaging to pay-off equity loan in full. Followed all process prescribed on the gov.uk website to the letter! Things progressed well for the first 7 days. Then I received an email that my case is under review by "specialist" team of Home England and no timeline can be given as it will be misleading. Seriously?! It's been almost 2 months now I still don't have a clue what's going on, as TARGET agent themselves don't know! My remortgage offer will expire in a couple of months so really worried now. Requested Target to hold from charging the interest, but they can't seem to be bothered - there is no empathy at all for the home owners to whom this scheme was supposed to help.
Finally, raised a complaint and waiting for 4 weeks timeline for them to investigate, followed by another 4 weeks if still not resolved, before I can go to the financial ombudsman to try get some accountability / resolution. Given such rampant abuse, how is it that the government or Financial Authority are not taking any steps against Home England and Target on such corrupt behaviour! Losing a lot of money on this. Did anyone here actually get their redemption completed for a property that has fallen in value?

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased a house in November 2021. The previous owner bought through help to buy. I've since discovered that nine months later Target have neglected to remove the charge from MY deeds. This is preventing me from either remortgaging or from applying for any other financial services. I've emailed them twice but have been ignored to date which leads me to conclude that they don't care about the impact their negligence has on innocent home owners. In my opinion the HCA/Homes England need to review their association with Target.

If I could have given 0 stars I would have...

If I could have given 0 stars I would have... Where to start ...

1) Hideous wait times - It takes a minimum of 1hr on the phone waiting to get through to an agent (we have spent >15 hours on the phone in the last month and still not been successful in getting anywhere with our H2B redemption)

2) Despite being appointed as the administrator for the equity loan scheme, Target have 0 idea what is going on with Homes England, and have also told me they have no way to find out (so not sure what this means their role is in practice?!?)

3) No consistency...Every person you speak to on the phone tells you something different/contradictory to the person before (one said it was sent to RICS a week ago, the next said it hadn't even been sent to Homes England, promises of updates that have never materialised, told all comms will come from Homes England and then told by Homes England all customer comms has to come from Target)

4) Delays delays and more delays. Nothing happens and no updates are provided unless you hound them on the phone (and even then progress is limited). We have paid >1000GBP to try redeem our loan so far more than a month ago, and Target have only just sent this on to Homes England...

Useless Beyond Parody Bordering on Wilful negligence

Useless. Awful service. Between Target and our incompetent solicitors we are about to lose a low interest rate mortgage which will cost us £12k annually. All we need to do is remove one person from the loan and add another as part of our remortgage process.this process started in January 2021, and we are still not any closer to getting completion.
Target have repeatedly asked for the same documents to be resent to them, refused to converse with out solicitors despite being given the appropriate authorisation to do so and delayed a process to the point where we stand to lose a lot of money. Incompetent is probably the wrong word, wilfully negligent is more appropriate. We are now in July 2022 with only a couple of weeks before our house needs revaluing therefore meaning our second mortgage offer since we started this will expire. When we explained that the paperwork they have needed to be sealed and returned to the solicitors immediately, the response was we can’t do that within our timeframe. What is their timeframe??? Clearly over 18 months is not long enough for this shambolic organisation. A.s.s holes
Some of the greatest civilisations on Earth have risen and subsequently fallen in a shorter timeframe than Target have been able to sign and return some documents. I can only hope that people who are responsible for this organisation and their family members need the services of this company at some point in their lives and are also failed by the people incompentcy of their own bloodline.

Terrible service

I had various interaction with target HCA. This is the most terrible service you can expect. Email constantly don't go through for mysterious reasons. You spend your time on the phone with the agents (which are pretty nice) but totally pointless to help you. It's worth mentioning that the call waiting is extremely long as well and whenever you have a question you are put on wait again. This comapny shouldn't be handling the help to buy scheme it's time for the government to find another provider really.

Avoid at all costs

Totally inept.
Been waiting over ten weeks for two documents to come back. (Original time scale was 4-6 weeks). In this digital age, how is this even possible?
The excuse every time you call is "the sheer volume of work"
Complaints procedure begun. At least 40 minutes on hold every time you call as there "are more than nine people ahead of you in the queue"
The delay is now costing me hundreds of pounds, and rising.

Absolutely shocking level of service

Absolutely shocking level of service. The wait times on the phone are just unbelievable, I'm still on hold after 3.5 hours listening to the most irritating classical music, it's like torture. For the past 1.5 hours I've been 'first' in the queue apparently.
I can't believe that our Government have appointed such a useless company.

Staggeringly Incompetent

The most staggeringly incompetent company I've ever come across. Trustpilot should allow for Zero stars.

My partner was in the call queue for over two hours only to be cut off.

If you finally do get through to a customer service rep, they have absolutely no clue of the latest developments when it comes to properties impacted by cladding.

Target/ Homes England are refusing to let people redeem thier Help to Buy loan. It's so unbelievably corrupt.

Go bang your head against a wall, it's more productive.

2 hours on hold until they closed

Been on hold for two hours, I was told I was 5th in the queue at the start. There’s not a chance that it takes two hours for a customer service team to speak to the 4 people before me. Absolutely horrendous. It came to closing time and then I couldn’t speak to anyone.

If i could give a 0 i would. Can not reach them on the phone as the queue takes hours. Their replies to emails dont make sense and ask for information that has already been sent. They make things so difficult. When you want to complain, guess what you get put in the phone queue.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I took out the Help to Buy Equity loan on the purchase of my new build property October 2015. In hindsight I was young and didn't really check what I was getting into. You forget for the first 5 years of the loan being interest free.

In 2018 I first came across Target as I had to remove my Ex partner from the Deeds of the house which took 9 months to complete with target. They were useless , unhelpful with long wait times to get through. 3 hours 30 minutes to get through at the time. luckily I persevered and got through.

Thankfully late 2021 I am rid of this horrendous company attached to my house. I had to use the services of a RICS surveyor £200 pounds for a valuation. The Surveyor was excellent and gave me all the tricks and TIPS in how to deal with these people Based on reading these reviews , I have had a lucky escape and only had to pay 5 thousand pounds interest based on the 20 percent valuation of the house then. 2022 I have sold my house for 165k when it was valued at 145 by the RICS surveyor so I'm rather smug towards TARGET and they can never bother me again.

My advice is JUST DONT BOTHER.

Why are the government using this service.. disgraceful!!!

Been on hold for 2 hours and counting

I have been on the phone trying to get through to Target HCA for 2 hours 15 mins and counting... At the start of the call, I am 5th in the queue. Currently, I am 2nd in the queue. It is appalling. How can this hotline be mended by "all of their operators"? They sent me a letter, apologising for not setting up my DD for two years. I am only calling them back to help them get this set up again. This is so awful! There should be a way to get them reported and their contract with the govt revoked.
