I haven’t had any dealings with this company!
HMRC wrote to me in November stating I was due from a claim made by Tax without my knowledge. HMRC informed me that a tax refund and the cheque had been sent to Tax Tree and should contact them. This appears to be fraudulent as no correspondence received from Tax Tree whatsoever and when you try and contact them surprisingly the Tel No goes to an automated message saying to forward any letter from HMRC regarding a tax refund.
I have informed HMRC I haven’t instructed Tax Tree to act on my behalf so they are investigating this as fraud.

Hmrc has forwarded my tax refund to taxtree, for them to pay it to me.
This was at the beginning of December 2021.
Hmrc said it would take up to two weeks .I received an email from taxtree apologising for the delay as Christmas disruptions unfortunately happen.
It is now February and not a word since from them .
Do people actually get their refunds from taxtree .?
Because mine is looking extremely unlikely and I wonder how many others have not received like myself .

I too have also received a letter from HMRC stating I paid too much tax in 2020/21 and a cheque had been sent to Tax Tree. I don't think my overpayment is anything to do with Claimeasy who I've used in the past so I don't know why Tax Tree have got my money. They have a strongly worded email from me today requesting my money or I shall be reported them for theft and fraud. After reading all other reviews about this company on here, they seriously need looking into.

I should have recieved a tax rebate from hmrc.Cheque has been sent to tax tree who i have had no corespondence with tried calling them to see why they have claimed my hard worked money which would of and should of came to me.HMRC shame on you for not sending the cheque to me and if tax tree were acting for me i bet someone would be in contact to get their money not the other way round.Claim easy also have a part in this.I am gutted really could do with this money.
I was taken aback when I realised that Tax Tree would keep such a high proportion of my tax rebate so I contacted HMRC who grudgingly confirmed that the majority of the amount was from PAYE and should have been sent out to me automatically. The delightful lady then hung up on me. I then contacted Tax Tree and spoke with Head of Operations, Kerry, who championed my case and managed to have the fee reduced. She has been in constant touch with me since our first telephone conversation. Today my cheque arrived in the post and I am delighted.
Like many others on here I received a letter from HMRC this week saying I owed them £283 because I had earned £1400 from my savings which I hasten to add are not a lot. They said Taxtree had told them this. After a 50 minute call to HMRC of which only 5 mins was actually talking to someone they said I needed to talk to Taxtree and bin them. I want to point out the following;
1. HMRC were not very helpful or sympathetic.
2. I had a job getting to talk to someone at Taxtree until I chose ‘pay us some money’ from the options.
3. The person was helpful and said I needed to speak to Lesley who deals with HMRC and he put me through.
4. She was so helpful and said she would ring them and sort it then ring me back.
5. She did this and it was an error in figures made by HMRC. She will now remove Taxtree by sending them a letter saying they no longer deal with my account.
Lessons learned for me are stay clear of companies claiming to be able to get tax refunds for you. What happens next is the HMRC will jump on your account and screw you for more money. Thank God for Lesley I say. My final rant about tax is how dare they tax our savings. If we work hard and pay our taxes we do not deserve to be taxed because we have chosen to save and not spend or go in to debt.

They received my refund from government in October I emailed paperwork to them still waiting for my refund from tax tree and every time I email I get no response I have sent about 7 emails and still waiting for my money and any correspondence from them
Was contacted by HMRC back in November last year stating I had paid too much tax and would receive a refund by way of a cheque within 14 days of the date on the letter. Waited until December as I'd not received anything from them, HMRC informed me the cheque had been posted on 10/11/22. I've received nothing as of today so again contaced HMRC who told me the cheque had been sent to Tax Tree. I've rung Tax Tree and you only get a female voice telling you they are busy and to e-mail, to which I have subsequently done.
After reading the reviews on here I'm not holding out on receiving any monies from this company. We shall see.

I’m not a patient person but this company are in a league of their own, I filed a claim for ppi tax refund, I was owed £48 which was absorbed by tax tree- fair enough, what I wasn’t made aware of was that by doing this I gave them permission to claim for anything that I might be owed for the rest of my life 😱. I, like others received a letter from hmrc advising me that I was owed a not insignificant amount and it would be sent to tax tree, after not hearing from them in a reasonable amount of time I contacted them giving them all the information they could possibly need, two weeks later with no reply I contacted them once more and received a reply confirming that they had indeed received the cheque and were in the process of checking the calculations made by hmrc before banking and then once it was cleared would calculate their fees and forward me the remainder- this could take up to 4 weeks !!! 6 weeks later and nothing, I have no confidence in this company whatsoever, a website that is having ‘technical difficulties’ for 6 months ?? Not surprisingly the file for a claim function is working perfectly, I’m sure that their checking the hmrc calculations is just something that they can charge you for and is totally unnecessary, has anyone actually received anything from them? Reading the reviews it would appear not, if they truly are so busy then perhaps they should hire more staff, I will update as and when I get any info regarding MY MONEY.——UPDATE, received an email from Tanya 4/1/23 apologising for the delay and advising that my cheque has been posted to me on 4/1/23, I’ll give a further update as to the fees deducted and alter my star rating accordingly. SO, the post has arrived including a cheque from tax tree just as i was promised 😁😁, the net result is a 49%+ fee which is a huge amount of money but less than i feared to be honest, I have to alter my overall opinion and advise anyone waiting to be patient, I’m not quite sure why the process is so drawn out and time consuming but (in my case at least) once everything is in place it’s just a matter of days and i expect the Xmas/new year holidays played their part, thanks Tania 👍

I received a letter in November 2022 saying my tax refund had been paid to Tax Tree didn't have a clue who this company was, never agreed or signed anything. My cheque has been paid to them and not received any correspondence from them as they probably don't even have my full details as I only completed 33% of their form.
Update- please send me a copy of this signed paperwork

3 Months been waiting for money owed haven't acknowledged they have received anything from HMRC,so I'm sending my details to the fraud police and looking to the small claims department then the bailiffs can collect it.

Still waiting since 9 December, how do I know if you have sent a cheque and it is lost in the post?
Disappointing service from a so called trusted company that represent people due refunds. HMRC should no longer deal with you.
If i had known what I know now I would never had got involved with Taxtree!

Was informed by HMRC that I was due a refund and would receive it within 14 days this was on 20th October. Phoned tax office to be informed its been sent to a company called tax tree which I have never heard of and to my knowledge did not agree to them acting as an agent for me. Emailed tax tree to be told to contact them if I didn't receive anything by 23rd December which I did to then receive an automated response saying they were closed till 3rd Jan surely they could have told me this in the original response. Still have no clue why they are dealing with it what percentage they will take and why they still have my money. Wish they would just send the money back to the tax office and let them deal with it.

I received a letter from HMRC saying I had a refund on the 31st October, the cheque has apparently been sent to Tax Tree on the 1st November, so far I’ve heard nothing and I don’t even remember giving my details for this to happen or told what percentage they take!!!!
